  1. If you do work hard and follow the steps, you will be successful! Think positive, keep your eye on the prize, and do it one day at a time. I know, I think that fear moreover comes from my years of eating right and exercising for HOURS a day just to lose a little weight and then have it pile back on (and then some) no matter how hard I worked at it. I do need to be more positive and trust my surgeon who suggested bypass/rny for this very reason. Anyway, I should know it will work. I was mostly on the liquid diet for the past few days (only eating one meal and replacing 2 with shakes, except for last night) and I lost like 11 lbs already. Thanks for the positivity. Sometime we need the sense knocked back into us right?
  2. Don’t be, you’ve got this! Sending positive vibes your way. Keep us posted!
  3. Congrats! Your surgery is a day before mine and my pre-op with the anesthesiologist is on the 20th. I start my liquid diet today! Best wishes!
  4. Praying everything works out in your favor! ??????
  5. Thank you! And I sure hope so! My biggest fear is altering my body, working hard and still not losing the weight ?
  6. So Sunday was my last day of actual food. I had a little homemade lasagna and a slice of cake (thanks grandma who totally doesn’t know I’m having surgery or she’d be judging me). And I ended the day with a homemade cheeseburger on low cal low carb bread. Ready to start my liquid diet! In the homestretch now. Final pre-op appointment with the Anesthesiologist on the 20th and then surgery next week!
  7. Congrats and don’t be nervous, your new life is starting, it’s a time for celebration?
  8. Congrats on your date and welcome to the summer 2018 surgery buddies family!
  9. How convenient that 19 does come between 18&20.... My sarcastic side couldn't resist....lol. Thank you!!! ? lol, I laughed at that too. I mean I was pretty spot on ? You’re welcome
  10. I think it’s somewhere between pages 18 and 20
  11. Holiday babies always get robbed in that department sadly. My mom is a twin and their birthday is 4 days before Christmas. People tend to celebrate my aunt but not mom. But she did say that growing up they got the short end of the stick birthday wise. I do have a little cousin with the same birthday as you but his mom tries to make it special every year. And nothing wrong with celebrating yourself. My birthdays are disappointing every year. I just try to at least feel pretty and maybe eat something that I really like, lol
  12. The strawberry cheesecake light and fit is my absolute favorite! And I don’t really have a big appetite in the first place so that is a lot for me. I did the protein shakes in place of two meals a day while I was seeing the nutritionist and even waiting a couple of hours and not having a snack in between, I had a hard time getting a second shake down because I was still full from the first. And time is flying! Our new lives will be starting soon. I finished packing my hospital bag this past weekend, I’m that ready, lol
  13. Thank you and nice with the weight loss! I’m expected to drink 3 protein shakes a day and have two 100 calorie yogurts in between. Two shakes are super filling to me though so I have no idea how I’m going to pull this off, lol. Best wishes on your surgery! So close!
  14. Hoping you get your date very soon! And what an awesome summertime birthday. I’m a May baby but July is my absolute favorite month!
  15. Thank you!
  16. I hope that all of you who have had your surgeries already are healing up nicely and wishing everyone with pending dates a speedy recovery!
  17. You and I are surgery date twins! Wishing you the best of luck! I start my liquid diet on Monday, super excited!
  18. You’re welcome and keep us posted! ?
  19. And you’re welcome! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your journey!
  20. Insurance definitely makes us jump through all of the hoops they can find. And I’m with you on the learning so much along the way. And I got to make awesome bonds here in the forums with all of you so that is another bonus ? And this time next year we will be fit and feeling amazing! ?
  21. Congrats and positive vibes about your heart results! Hope you get a date soon!
  22. I went to the seminar back in September, met the surgeon 2 weeks later for a consult and he gave me a list of my timeline and everything I had to do for insurance along with a bunch of referrals for different requirements. I started my 7 months of nutrition in November. I did the sleep study (which was 3 total appointments), abdominal ultrasound, cardiology (which was 2 total appointments), upper endoscopy (performed by my surgeon), and the psych evaluation. So my process from seminar until my actual surgery date was September 18th to June 28th. It is a very long process but with all of the appointments the time kind of passes quickly (well to me it did). Best wishes on your sleeve surgery ?
  23. Welcome! We’re glad to have you with us!
