  1. I’ve seen a few YouTube bypassers have it but it was short lived. Some had the remorse because they wanted to eat the food they used to eat, some because it was hard to get down the water and protein needs. It seems short lived most of the time. Personally if I deal with it, I’m going to have to right down all of the reasons I decided to do this and focus on that. There is no going back and why would I want to? So that’s my 2 cents on the buyer’s remorse discussion
  2. Keep at it! You’re so close! And have you thought about doing meal replacement shakes? Prior to this liquid diet (which I’ve lost 23 lbs on so far). I was replacing a meal or 2 with protein shakes and then just having a healthy meal. It’s definitely helped shed weight. Good luck! Hope you’re able to get your surgery date soon
  3. Not a dumb question. The list link is on page 19 and it has everyone’s dates on it
  4. You’re so close! Just a few more weeks!
  5. Woohoo! Congrats and welcome to the summer 2018 surgery crew!
  6. Freezing it is a good idea! I've haven't got to the second guessing myself part yet, but I think that's probably because I haven't made any real changes yet. I'm going on vacation this weekend so I'm waiting until I return to hit it hard. I'm sure it will come though and I'll just remind myself of why I'm here and what I'm going for long term!! Reminding yourself why you made this decision is all you can do. And then committing to the change moving forward is the other half! Have a great vacation!
  7. I hear you! Hope they heal up! I had a stressful weekend and now my hormones have gone out of whack. Hope to be feeling better by Thursday. Good luck to us!
  8. As soon as you get your date and tell us I will serve you up one! ?
  9. We’re almost there! *breaks into “Almost There” from The Princess and The Frog* ???
  10. I did the food funeral and it wasn’t as intense as I thought it would be. Had pizza, pasta, seafood. That was about it. Oh and a burger. The only things in my food funeral that truly satisfied were the seafood and the pizza. Best wishes! Hope you get your date very soon!
  11. Stay strong! The anxiety and excitement get very real. I wish I had done it sooner as well but I’ve made the decision to do it and it happens this week! Your date will be here before you know it, the time truly does fly
  12. Thank you! And same to you! Being nervous is normal but don’t second guess yourself now. You decided on this for a reason. If you’re still nervous tomorrow ask for something for the nerves. They will accommodate you. You’ve got this ?
  13. No, I’m using Dr Neil Floch at St V’s. I love him and his staff. My friend used Dr Ghiassi last year and she loved him. He did a great job. She’s very happy! You’re definitely in good hands!
  14. Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery in advance! Are you using Dr Ghiassi?
  15. I am in CT (near New Haven). I see your surgery date is soon. Good luck!! Thank you! Good luck to you too! I’m in Bridgeport. And from what I’ve seen so far from people I know who have gotten approved, it usually takes a week or two. I found out in less than a week! Then I got the approval letter the following week! Hope you’re approval is just as speedy!
  16. Looking at you’re name I’m wondering if you are from Connecticut. If so, I can tell you that I got an approval quicker than that and so did another friend. Best wishes!
  17. It is the most amazing feeling to have a group of buddies supporting you. And those intrusive thoughts of failure are the absolute worse. We have no come this far to fail. We are taking back our lives!
  18. I definitely understand all of the reasons why you are doing this. I have such a bad family history health wise that I’d like to stop before it can think about happening. And I get winded just walking across the room! So I get it. And I’m glad that what I said resonated with you. You’ve got this! ?
  19. Lol @ the nurse chuckling. I’m sure you’re in better spirits about your decisions now
  20. You’re welcome! We all need the reminder sometimes. And I’ve had the same problem. Milk of magnesia helps with that ?
  21. Confession Time: I haven’t second guessed myself, still not doing so, but I have to confess that in the back of my mind I felt like I would get this surgery and still not be healthy. It was a very negative and very sad thought. I questioned how would this time be any different from the other times that I ate right, exercised like crazy, only to lose a little weight and gain back even more no matter how healthy my diet or exercise regimen. Still I was decided on doing this surgery, I have to try right. Well now I’ve been bit with the positivity bug from all of the well wishes and encouragement that all of you and even my whole medical team instills in me. It finally hit me today that this time, it actually will be different. How do I know? My determination to get healthier, my complete and utter commitment to this process, liquid diet and all. I just cannot fail. So to anyone who is second guessing or feeling like this isn’t going to work. Banish the thought. We’ve got this ?
