  1. You can do this Slinderella!!!! Get you something to keep your hands busy.... busy hands can't be putting things in the mouth I have found from personal experience, not that I have that much or have been banded that long, but I am a pro at being hungry and working hard to find something else to occupy my time. :cool2:

  2. SLG- I agree with you..absolutely. It is hard work, but oh so worth it, no matter how slow.... there are up days and down days, but never a day I have regretted it. I wish it would come off quicker, but hey.... its coming off right? And we all need to remember...... as it has been said thousands of times....... its a tool and it will only work if you work it.... like anything where there is a will there is a way, if you cheat it will let you.... to a point. We just all have to stick together and keep encouraging each other and know that each day is better than the one before...... it puts us 1 day closer to goal.

  3. Ha, Patricia, you crack me up! Your never too old to appreciate a fine specimen.. (I've always heard that just because their is snow on the rooftop doesn't mean there isn't fire in the furnace!)!!!! :tt1:Actually, I have not paid that much attention as I am still a bit intimidated, ha. So, tell me, how are you doing on your six months, where are you at and how are you feeling with it all?:cool2:

  4. Hi Karly,

I was also banded by Dr. Britt on March 4th. Have lost 69 lbs. so far. I have had three fills so far and go for my 4th on the 9th at 4:30. They are always so good to get you in if you need it. They did me that way after my 1st one. I called and went in after two weeks. I am ready for my 4th because I don't feel I am where I need to be yet. Hope 4th time is a charm. Maybe I'll see you there.

    Tina

    Hey Tina,

I go on Thursday the 10th at 4:15. I thought they only did fills on Thursdays? That's what they told me last time, but then he was going out of town so actually did my fill on Monday instead.

  5. Hi all.

I'm for sure calling tomorrow, first thing. I am ready for the scales to move again. I am working really hard to control my portions even with no restriction and have mastered the drinking before and after rules. IT has been hard and I do confess that I watch the clock the minute my last bite is taken, HA! I usually get on the computer in the evenings to help pass the time til I can drink. That has been huge for me! Tina, I'll sure let ya know if I get my appt changed, and wow, you have done wonderful with your weight loss, I am jealous!.

  6. Hey Andy,

I have the large, I am guessing that is the 14cc and my first fill he gave me 3cc. I seem to really have no restriction right now and am debating calling and seeing if I can come in this Thursday.

My fourth was good. Nothing spectacular just family and friends. But that is more than enough. :)

  7. HI everyone. I have been off the boards for a bit but coming in to say hey and check-in.

I'm still wavering between 41 and 43 pounds off. Making me nuts. I go down and bounce up a couple of pounds. I'm yearning for 45. But then I'll just be yearning for 50 I guess. I go to the surgeon on Tuesday, but not for a fill. I only could take 2ccs at my first fill, so he didn't think I'd need one for a long time. I'm not so sure about that right now. I can drink more at a time, and eat more at a sitting. Yes, some things don't go down as well as others, but I can get pretty much anything down if I chew well and wait for it to drop down. I'm eating less than on "diets" in the past, but I am eating quite a bit more than a couple of weeks ago. Very sudden change. I'm going on vacation in about 10 days so a fill will need to ait until after I come home. Even if I can only take 1cc, it might close the gap a bit. It's only 10 weeks since surgery, and I haven't developed the changes needed to do this "on my own" . I see the creeping up of calories a little at a time. I'm not gaining, but losing next to nothing this past week or so.

Anyway, enough complaining. How's everyone else doing?

Hey gd, how are you? Sounds like your doing great.

Your right where I am, I want more more more more more.

And can eat more more more, lol.. I'm experiencing major loads of stress and am a stress eater and with little or no restriction i am in constant battle.

    I can't wait til I can say 50 lbs lost though...... then 75...... then 100...... then...then...then... HA! :)

  8. Hi Karly!

Yeah, I know...it did seem as though everything stopped. I think L2L was on vacation too last month. I only have one week left and then it's back to reality. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself though. The days are going way too fast (as does any vacation). I don't want to go home, but I know it will end soon enough. **sigh**

Talk to ya soon! Great job on the 41 lb loss! WOW!

    ~C

Vacation........sighs......... I'm so jealous! Enjoy enough for both of us would ya? :( Um... don't let the 41 fool ya girlie, I think I am up two...but I am NOT changing my ticker cuz its coming back off. I am struggling. Having a lot of stress and no restriction, not a good combination. I'm supposed to be filled on the 17, I may call and beg for sooner!:)

  9. I am a Dr. Britt patient. My GP recommended him rather than one in Huntsville that I had originally made an appointment with. I haven't had many dealings with Dr. Grove outside the seminar, but I have heard that he is wonderful, one particular thing about him, is that he has also had the lapband, so he will truly know what your going through each step of the way. Dr. Britt, as you know, is Dr. Grove's surgeon so either one is a win/win choice in my book. They both are very supportive and encouraging. I really like Dr. Britt and I love my band. Don't worry about the six months, it actually goes by faster than you realize. I do understand the anxiousness to go ahead and get started on your journey to a new life and trust me it will get here pretty quick. Your going to be busy jumping through the hoops for BC, just do exactly as your told and you will get through it with flying colors. As far as the office staff, I find them to be equally as supportive and very responsive. I have not once had any second thoughts or regrets with my decision to get the band, or the surgeons to go with. They truly seem to care and want to see you succeed. Good luck to you!

  10. Hi Everyone! How's everyone?

Brandy-- HOLY COW did you say 13.5 miles? I may have to go lie down for a while on your behalf. That is fabulous, and I am in awe!

Turler-- I had problems with the ticker too, I like those better. I may try again with Leslie's new instructions. Your right it is weird, and it just isn't fair, I swear you can gain weight a whole lost quicker/easier than you can lose it. Weight should be pouring off all of us with this change, especially with you now that your so tight. I just know my Dr. is going to be that way with me when I hit tight and like L2L- I might have to snap. ha.

L2L- Ha! Well hell you might be right about the stages of bandster hell, lol. My scar at my port site is weird. It is raised at some points, but not others, and it will suddenly flatten down in those spots and then raise back up. It gets tender in those areas when that occurs too. It's purple looking I guess it will for a while. when I got my fill I had bruising occur beside my port towards my belly button it looked like two parallel lines and has just now faded. I'm weird I know. Now, as for your vacation time.... lighten up on yourself. You didn't gain... you have to cut loose every now and then (at least I think so)..... you didn't go crazy, and what proves your willpower and determination is looking forward and getting right back on the bandwagon, literally, HA!

I like other posts could eat 3,000 plus calories a day.

Thank God for the BAND!!

  11. Turler--

I was just teasing you, I am sure as those of us who haven't reached the level of tightness you are at, will have the same experience sooner or later. It's good to hear the details....... that way when we do experience it, we won't panic. Thanks.... I did 9 lbs pretty quick after my fill..... I had been holding for so long at same weight........and now I am back to not having much restriction at all.. A couple of things that have helped me survive the hungries after my fill is 1- and this is the biggie, I absolutely force myself not to drink for a minimum of 45 minutes, and 2- is virginia baked ham deli slices....... I have that and a string cheese for Breakfast, and then I have some again (smaller amount) for an afternoon snack so I am not "starving" when I get home. But, even tho my scales have started moving.... and I am grateful, don't get me wrong, I want more! You would think that with the amount being consumed now in comparison to the amount consumed prior to surgery it would drop quickly. I don't know..... its just strange how it works. I just have to remember to focus on the one a week and be happy that its not gaining one a week right? :crying: I think you are doing fabulously, and I really believe that your body is fighting the good fight right now, since you can't consume much and is storing everything you eat because it thinks your starving.....you are going to wake up one morning and its going to be a huge loss, you just wait and see!

  12. Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well in loserland!. Just wanted to check in and say Hi.

L2L- How ya doing girlie? All the soreness gone?

Turler- Um, YUK, ha! just kidding, I bet that was miserable. I'm glad it got better.

I am ready for another fill, next appointment is the 17 of July, I just hope I don't get too much.

  13. L-

I have no idea, I haven't seen any posts from her either.

I have to say, I still wonder if I need more fill. I haven't had that "full" feeling since right after my fill. I still have to be concious of what I "think is too much" does that make sense? I may try and move my appointment up. I just need that trigger that I can say "oh, if I take one more bite".

I do have the large band so maybe it will take a few fills like I have read discussed other places. I still do not drink while eating...... I wait my 30 minutes minimum. That is hard sometimes, I was always a huge dt mt dew drinker and drank during meals. Still not drinking carbonated beverages either.

    I hope your feeling better!
