  1. Ok, stop justifying it.:smile2: A loss is a loss and to drop sizes is huge! :smile2:
  2. Hey guys! Leslie......... dropping that many sizes is so awesome...... in just 2 months. We are anxiously waiting for Friday with ya when you have your revision. Let us know how you are as soon as you feel like it. Turler......... Congrats on the restriction....... how long did you have to wait between 1st and 2nd fill? (I know I can probly find where you already said but I am lazy), lol. How much do you have now? You may have said, but I can't see at this moment. I have 3 cc on first fill. First fill stung and I still have a fairly large bruise beside my port site/scar towards my belly button from the fill, it did hurt for a while after. I do have restriction, but, can still eat more than I want to. I'm hoping that I will be able to get another fill at the end of the month. Something tells me my surgeon is going to be a little difficult about the fills. :grouphug:. :behindsofa: Truly though, look how far we have already come!! Blessed ...Blessed... Blessed!

Oh Leslie, I am so sorry. I hope that it gets taken care of soon. I missed where you asked me what part of Alabama, sorry. North Alabama is where I am..... about 30 miles south of Huntsville. I can't believe this, but, I stepped on the scales this morning and I have lost 7 lbs since my fill on Monday! Woohoo, just hope it doesn't sneak back up on me! I'm so excited. The darned scale has moved!! Yes!!

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hi all... Leslie, I had no fill at surgery. What restriction I had was just from swelling and the band itself. After my fill, I had it at 10:30, and had not eaten since the evening before, but immediately when I stood up I had that tight pressure feeling. I really wasn't hungry at all until about 8:00 that night, of course, being the liquid and passing right through, it didn't help too much so I gave up and went to bed. I wanted food. The next day at 11:00, I had my first real food ..... I had the soft veggies out of vegetable soup and a small amount of sugarfree pineapple pudding. I could have ate more than what I did (which was about a cup).... but made myself stop because I was supposed to be getting a full on a small amount right? When I didn't get full, I panicked and called the Dr.'s office.... she reminded me that what I had eaten wasn't really of substance and probably passed right on through (I felt so dumb).. She said not to focus on the amount as in worrying over wanting more than a few tablespoons, but to focus on feeling satisfied. She also said that it sometimes takes a few fills to build up to a good restriction. That night, I ate tuna casserole, still could eat about 3/4 of a cup or so, but once I got to the satisfied feeling, I remained satisfied the rest of the night (YES). I'm glad about that, before fill I was feeling like I wanted to graze all the time because I was staying hungry. Now my battle is head hunger.... why must my brain think that because it's good I must have more? I think that once the scale starts to move again it will help me with that part. I know I am not at good restriction yet, but I am closer and will take advantage of what I can til I get there. I had my fill under flouro, it did sting, and stung for a while afterwards. I have a small bruise to the side of my port scar now and its tender don't really know why, but its not so bad that I can't stand it for the future fills. Anxiously waiting to be a loser again, .

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hey girls! Got my first fill yesterday...... 3cc's. The stick stung for quite a while following. Felt the pressure right away. Started eating soft foods today at lunch...... was a little disappointed that I could eat a fair amt before satisfied. Called the nurse and she talked me through it. So..... off and running..we'll see. I like you Leslie had to just get rid of the drink so I wouldn't be tempted for those "little sips to wet my mouth as I ate". I think they added up far more than I realized. I'm ready for the scale to MOVE! I haven't seen it move in 4weeks! at least! I'm so proud for you Leslie, 6 Lbs is huge! Woohoo!

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hi all. Just a brief check in to see how we are all surviving,. Turler and Leslie, how is the hunger? I'm still hungry, can't wait for my first fill!!!! Wanted to let everyone know of a site that has a wide selection of protein bars and powders.... seem to be a little cheaper than what I have found for Isopure etc. Here it is:: Bariatric Eating - Protein, Vitamins, Gastric Bypass & Lap Band Info, Post-op Recipes, and Help Take care everyone!
  13. Turler, Leslie and Hippiemama, you are not alone, I am so hungry at times. I have no fill as yet either, set for May 15. I have found through a Gastric-bypass friend at work, a Tasteless protein that you can add to any drink or food for added protein and it seems to help you feel a little fuller..... I think. It is Any Whey Protein Powder. It gives 17 grams of protein per serving. Drinking while eating is also an issue for me, it is so hard to do and I find myself watching the clock for when I can drink. I am glad everyone is doing well for the most part, can't wait to see what we do with "fills".
  14. It's my understanding that if it is the few weeks prior to surgery it is surgeon requesting to shrink the liver. If it is the six month deal, thats the insurance company.
  15. Wow, Leslie, sounds like your doing great. I just started my mushie phase today. Your incisions are almost completely healed? WOW! I am way behind, mine aren't, and I believe I am having an allergic reaction to something, my itching is progressing, I seem to have a rash on my stomach. I'm going to try to call my surgeons office tomorrow, but something in the back of my mind tells me that I remember they are closed on Fridays, I hope not!

    Banded yesterday, in pain

The pain will absolutely get better, day by day. Hang in there. Don't feel alone, your not. The liquid diet is tough but it gets easier, though its an up and downhill battle. You can do this. Take your pain meds and just relax, there is no point in hurting more than you have to. I took them regularly trust me, and as soon as I started feeling better I stopped. You will too. No, you didn't make a mistake, we worked too hard to get here to even consider that thought girlie, :blushing:.

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hey all Avengers, good luck to those that are due to have surgery this week (don't forget your gas X strips, cinammon is great). Turler, and all the other hungry ones....... it must be an Avenger symptom, ha. I am hungry too, since about day 3 postop. creamy soups and such aren't much help, as I am tired of them, :tongue_smilie:. The Dr.'s office had originally scheduled me for my first fill on May 30, but I talked to them today and its moved up to the 15th. My incisions began itching today..... and its drving me nuts! Other than that, all is good, no regrets whatsoever.

    April Running-Weight Totals!

I was banded on the 10th, pre-op to present 17 pounds!
  20. Hey Leslie, I'm glad you are doing so well. I am doing pretty good, much better now that I got to move from liquids to full liquids. Your on mushies? I'm so jealous. I am sore too, port site mainly. I'm ready to get to normal eating and fills and watching this weight go aren't you?

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hi All . How's everyone? Dream, No, I have not been able to exercise. I walk a little but hopefully will more soon. I am having a lot of soreness in my port site. Today, like Carol, I grew tired of liquids. Looking forward to Thursday when I can have cream soups and fat free pudding. Your right Carol, it does give us time to take a long look at our prior relationship with food. I have a feeling I am about to pick up a new habit, maybe teach myself to crochet or something,

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hey all fellow Avengers, I hope all are doing well in whatever phase they are in right now. I was banded on 4/10. I have the typical sorness and was at first not hungry at all and forcing down what liquids I could, now I am feeling HUNGRY even after I have had my broth. I'm not complaining at all, just telling you all where I am at. After 7 days i start the creamy soup stage and am looking forward to that. Take care all, and for all with sugeries this week, Best of luck and God bless!

    BCBS 6mo diet question

Hi Grace, I too have BCBS AL. I would definitely go to the website and check it out...... call the number and they can guide you to it... there are different rules according to your contract. But mine said it couldn't be the surgeons office, it had to be the PCP.... not only that it had to be within a day of the same time each month. I had to be weighed and notes made on my progress or lack there of each month. They are very strict about that. Call your employer and ask for the bc rep... speak to them and they can get you to the right info.
  24. Good luck to you both on your surgeries tomorrow. I wish you quick surgeries and minimal pain. Lets compare notes next week,
  25. Congrats to all on your continued quick recovery. Natasha, if you don't mind my asking........ I had gall bladder surgery several years ago too, I was curious if there was any difficulty on your surgery due to scar tissue or if it effected it at all?
