  1. My surgery is In the am!! I'm really nervous and I'm concerned more with possible pain than anything. My doctor does do anything. It an abdominal pain block. No pain meds the day of and it's outpatient in by 630 out by noon. Seems rushed which makes me nervous too. I finally got him to prescribe some pain meds for home in case. I just know a hiatal hernia and the sleeve will leave me in pain. There's no way it wouldn't!!!! Eeeek!
  2. On the protein powders, how many grams does a tablespoon give you? Are they all different?
  3. Thank you! I'm hoping to get ideas like this. I can't stand chocolate anything so I'll have to avoid that. But I do love skim milk and the thought of getting a lot of protein out of the way!
  4. I am. Except my mom but the rest yes.
  5. How long before you can have sex again? My doc says whenever I feel up to it, what did you guys experience? If you don't mind me prying lol
  6. I know we all gauge pain differently so it's a semi tough question, but I guess I'm asking, what you had sort of imagined mentally vs. the real pain, how did it compare??
  7. I asked yesterday how bad did the sleeve REALLY hurt and got great answers. I forgot to mention I have to have a hiatal hernia repaired. Bound to be a game changer?!
  8. My surgeon does an ab pain block similar to an epidural where you feel nothing for hours. Like when you go to the dentist and the object you and block the pain? So they told me they don't really give pain meds the day you're In For surgery has anyone else experienced that?
  9. I'm not crazy about it being out patient. But every one is except gastric bypass with these doctors.
  10. Thank you everyone! I just wanted to know I could have a sip just a sip now and then when the time comes. I have gone 5 days without carbonation or a Coke or sugar and I could almost die for a big Coke right now lol

    *Sex*

@sleevedshereenthank you that's actually helpful info.
  12. Ok this is new to me @Introversion @fruitandveggies @OutsideMatchInside @jess9395 Did all of halls taste buds change? I'm getting a feel that you can take drinks here and there but even if you were an addict before, that you have zero interest now? Can you tell me how much you find that the case? That you find you're disinterested in a drink/food??
  13. For pain not if this severe in nature Vicodin. But Vicodin isn't gonna put a dent in what I can only imagine compares to a Csection.
  14. I have, on my own, not because of liquid diet or anything, dropped about 30 lbs in 3 months. I'm wearing my size 14/16's. I'm starting to wonder if I should go through with this now. I'm thrilled to be wearing this size and my goal is a 12. I just can't help but wonder if this is going to be a mistake like every single person in my life is telling me it is.
  15. Thank you! That is good info. I've had liquid hudrocodone before and I don't think I could hah it down again!! What was your pain medication?
  16. Oh. Ok. I did it. Wow that's awesome. When you say pushed the button what button? Do they give you a pain pump?
  17. I don't know how to quote so y'all know who I'm replying to!
  18. Hummm. Wow. I watched my late husband recover from triple bypass and he slept in the recliner for 6 weeks and sneezing or coughing was murder. I'm sensing somewhere between that and the Csection pain. Which is DEFINITELY gonna hurt!!!!
  19. It does!! I had a C-section and omg I thought I was going to seriously die. I was on hands and knees trying to get to the bathroom even for weeks!!!! I seriously couldn't imagine how painful it would be!!! But good to know after a week you felt that much better!

    Having second thoughts

@Mhy12784what procedure are you having? You said "if you were having a sleeve gastronomy.." if that different from the sleeve?

    Having second thoughts

@Mhy12784point taken . I admittedly knew nothing of bariatric surgery until July 26. I have noticed however that none of these people have dealt with being overweight and the CONSTANT day to day battle we go through or at least me as for battles. And my thoughts keep going from excited to doubtful back and forth!!! I seriously don't see how I could spend my life wanting to be thinner and trying to be, and get this far!!, w/insurance paying 100%, & not go through with it I would be so mad at myself!
  22. Yay someone who makes me feel better lol I did ask nutrition today if it was ok if I didn't necessarily eat what they say I had to every day pre-op but not eat something NOT allowed and was told yes so I'm thankful for that! Good luck tomorrow ! Mine is a week from Thursday so I'll be eager to hear how you feel etc.
  23. I'm 10 days out. I barely eat anything as it is. I don't know why I'm not thin. But I'm not into this protein shake mess. It's nasty. So I just don't eat much. I do eat what is on the list when I do eat tho. Anyone else not be 100% perfect preop?

    I regret this surgery

I know what you mean I have been 2nd guessing this for a week now. Surgery is next Thursday. But I DO know that I'm ready to eat to live and not live to eat. I'm ok with bites and tastes of my favorites it doesn't have to be a meal. I AM worried about water tho. I too don't like that I can't swim until next summer. But guess what? We gonna look HOT NEXT SUMMER!!!
