  2. Black911, I did water aerobic classes prior to surgery & will again when allowed, now I'm doing short walks (I'm 2 weeks out from Lapband revision with Gastric bypass). What do you think about gentle exercising with sitting & 2lb. wt. lifting (arms)? I'm going to incorporate Tai Chi for Seniors (I have a DVD I ordered online - they show you how to modify in chair, it's WONDERFUL for any age/ability!) 3. I had some bruising, but not like that, WOW, God bless you! At my one week follow up, my Dr. said I was an oozer when I asked him. He said I bleed easily. I reacted with redness around the 2 main incisions from the steri strips & Dr. removed all of them. I'm a bit concerned about the discoloration by those sites now, but improving each day. My RNY was 9/5. I know your bruising will take awhile to resolve, it looks like my abdomen from the seat belt when I was in a car accident! Has your Dr. seen it? 4. You look amazing! CONGRATULATIONS on your success, what a blessing! Thank you for sharing and the encouragement as well! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. I'm 2 weeks out from Lapband revision with Gastric bypass surgery and I also do well with the GenePro. Because it's 30gm protein per serving, I take it with a cup of crystal light in the morning & early evening. With approved low fat Greek yogurt, it meets my protein goal. Can't stand the taste of a few others that seemed tolerable prior to surgery. I found the GenePro at GNC. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Thank you so much for sharing! I have a feeling I may decide to be vegetarian if not pescatarian, when I am allowed to go to "soft diet" & regular. I did do veggie days some before surgery, and know that I'll be SO much healthier if I stick with it. Our church is very supportive in eating healthy/vegan. 7. What an amazing miracle, CONGRATULATIONS on all your accomplishments and praise God he pulled you through, as you can testify HE has a bigger plan for you! Thank you for sharing your story, your testimony, and all the encouragement you're giving others on their journey! May God continue to bless you and your family abundantly! 9. I'm sure it is your blood count being low. Praying you feel better each day! [emoji5] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I'm anxious to hear what is said about Gene pro too, as it's on my list of approved protein supplements, and I'm doing well with it twice a day. I love that it's unflavored & I add it to crystal light, dissolves great. I'm 2 weeks out Lapband revision with Gastric bypass. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. It'll get better, one day at a time! I also had GERD, Lapband revision with Gastric bypass - NO reflux or symptoms of it since, praise the Lord! We're going to have better results than we imagined! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Thank you for the encouragement and sharing! You've done amazing [emoji122] and what a blessing to no longer be Diabetic AND no more high blood pressure! I've been on blood pressure med. for years (well controlled), but what an added bonus it would be to come off that and cholesterol med. as well! 13. Hi all, I had my Lapband revision with Gastric Bypass on 9/5/17. Thankful I only had to spend one night in the hospital. Walking good since the day of surgery, and have slowly worked up to walking outside around our block twice a day! [emoji5] I was in a car accident 4 years ago, multiple health issues since, and last 2 years consistently gained wt. I was miserable prior to surgery, felt like you could pop my abdomen with a pin (looked like 9 months pregnant). I am diabetic, was on Trulicity weekly injection several months prior to surgery, which is the main reason for having the surgery - hopefully help reverse diabetes, get healthy and feel better physically. I'm a disabled nurse now (pediatric/NICU). I know this will/is a journey with ups & downs, and is a "tool" - I have to do my part, but thankful surgery went smoothly and I'm on my way to better health! God bless each of you on your journey! 14. Great! Keep up the good work!
  15. I would add to the above good advice, it's essential to attend the support group meetings. Most of them are monthly, but where ever you live may offer them at various locations. I had the Lapband revision with Gastric bypass 12 days out. I know from experience when I had the band several years ago, the support group meeting was invaluable! If/when you do share with loved ones, start by letting them know your difficult decision was for your health. Chin up! The mixed emotions are to be expected in the beginning. 16. You can use a drop of lemon in a glass of water. Many can be ingested, you can check on the DoTerra website. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. It works for me! If you roll a little in the temples, do it close to your hairline, don't want to get it close to eyes (like anyof them, wash hands good before & after, so as to not accidentally touch eyes with it.
  18. Being intubated may cause a sore throat, but not chest pain. I would call your doctor.
  19. I had a bad headache one day a week out from surgery and do NOT want to take liquid Tylenol again, disgusting... however my neighbor reminded me I could use my DoTerra Essential Oils and I rolled the "pastense" on my forehead - worked beautifully! They aren't medications, but essential oils. If you're concerned with internal use, which I am not doing, check with your Dr. since there's healing going on for weeks. 20. This gives me encouragement, as I am 11 days out. Dr. said do full liquids for 2 weeks (at my one week follow up) & am looking forward to Pureed. Not sure if it will be for one or two weeks before soft foods. I've noticed all Dr.'s are different. CONGRATULATIONS on all the positive areas at one month out! 21. Miralax worked for me, a little too well, but had taken a stool softener the day before. I'm 11 days out, and a slow walk outside (slowly increased a little each day) has helped in a lot of ways. I go on walk with someone on some days twice a day. If you can't do the walk, it's good you have the bike. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I think you need to notify your doctor, just so they're aware - to be on the safe side. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. I'm only a week and a half out and have met my 64oz goal since day after home from hospital. But I was a big water drinker prior to surgery, maybe that's why? Not sure if type of surgery matters, I had gastric bypass. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
