    One week follow up

    That's wonderful news!
  4. We will have to learn to use cheese replacement (vegan cheese or something else) - I too have always loved cheese! My Mother once in a loving way smiled & told me if I left cheese out of my diet, I would probably loose 50 pounds Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

  6. I can't have this yet, but l look forward to trying it when able. I just inserted "Enchilada Sauce" instead of having to make it. Veggie Enchilada Casserole INGREDIENTS 12 small corn tortillas Enchilada sauce 1.5 cups shredded "taco blend" cheese 1 zucchini (about 3/4 lb.) 15 oz can black beans, drained 1 cup frozen corn kernels 4 oz can diced green chiles 1/2 bunch (3-4 each) green onions 1/4 bunch cilantro (optional) 1/4 tsp salt Cut the zucchini into small cubes. Rinse and drain the black beans. Slice the green onions (both green and white portions). Pull the cilantro leaves from the stems and give them a rough chop. Combine the zucchini, black beans, frozen corn kernels, green onions, cilantro, and diced green chiles in a bowl. Add 1/4 tsp salt and stir until evenly combined. Heat enchilada sauce until thick and bubbly (about 3-5 minutes). Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x9 casserole dish by coating lightly with non-stick spray. Spread a 1/2 cup of the sauce in the bottom of the dish. Arrange 1/3 of the tortillas over the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the vegetable mixture. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the sauce over the vegetables, then top with 1/2 cup cheese. Repeat these layers two more times, or until the vegetable mix, sauce, and cheese are gone. Bake the casserole for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the cheese just begins to brown on top. Slice into six portions and top with extra green onions and cilantro, if desired. 9. My Dr. recommended it for me to hopefully reverse Diabetes (so far so good) & I had GERD, terrible reflux prior to surgery - thankful to say, NONE since surgery! 3 weeks out today HW 205 SW 188 POST OP FROM IV FLUIDS 197 CW 177 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Sounds delicious! It's ironic, my sister and I were just discussing cottage cheese & the only way I liked it pre op was in Lasagna! Our family had it like that too, LOL 🙂 It'll be interesting to see how I tolerate a little tomorrow for the first time. Can't wait till down the road when I'm allowed to try your recipe to make/have.

Praise the Lord CT was fine, and you're at your Mom's! Be well! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Mary, do you think the delay in advancing your diet plan is related to the ulcerative colitis?
  13. I hope they explain too, and that all works out for you to be able to advance then. I had 5 questions at my first visit at one week out, so I wrote them out (so as to not forget to ask the Dr.). At some point when I had a few questions for the Nutritionist, I found out when I called the office, she promptly returns emails, and that worked out good when I couldn't reach her by phone (busy seeing pts.) - I don't think they suggest or give people the email address unless asked. Just thought I'd share that for future correspondence if it helps in between appointments, it sure helped me! Anxious to hear how your appt. goes, God bless! 16. I agree with SGIRL35. I'm sure they're being cautious to allow healing inside as well. My Dr. is conservative as well. I had one week clear liquids, but 2 weeks full liquids. I will be going to Pureed at week 3. So being on the liquids is getting old, I understand that - but what has encouraged me is remembering I DO NOT WANT TO RISK COMPLICATIONS! I read a horror story about someone that had leaks and multiple complications. But I get what you're saying, you just have the desire. I'm sticking to the list of approved stages & liquids/foods on those stages. As far as your protein, what has worked for me is GenePro (one Tablespoon in Crystal light is how I take it) unflavored, disolves great. 30 gm per serving. So I do that twice a day, and with the yogurt it gives you the 70gm goal. My Dr. recommended 60 - 70gm goal. I found the GenePro at GNC. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Fifth day post op

You've got the right attitude, one day at a time! I've got to share with you, looking at your picture, made me think about the 2 incisions in the middle - for some reason I reacted to the steri strips (just on those 2 incisions - very red at the end of them) my Dr. removed them at the 1 week follow up & it was worse than I thought, very sore, healing areas, and redness scattered more after. Thank God it's looking better, was concerning for awhile! That's great you're doing those walks! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app

    Fifth day post op

It will get easier! Each day pretty much. I'm 2 weeks out & today was a LOT better. I'm short, so getting in & out of bed in the beginning was painful and challenging - I used a footstool, and this may sound crazy, but what works for me now is going in bed on my knees then carefully lower onto my side. Getting out, I scoot close to the side of bed and roll out. Walking has been a God send! Every day slowly increase. About 4 days or so out, I started short walks outside, holding on to someone's arm. 24. Thank you so much for sharing & you also give me hope towards eating plant based! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Looks delicioso! Can I ask, did you ever have difficulty digesting Kale? Also, how far out from surgery did you wait to try it, or do you recommend? I had issues with it when I had the Lapband (prior to my recent Lapband revision with Gastric bypass).
