  1. Hi Jabba,

I had my wls October 10 2017. I was at a stall as well.

I decided to go back to Keto and intermittent fasting. Gosh! I am longer at a stall! 10 pound loss in 2 weeks! My Sister is doing as well. ( she is almost at 4 year post wls) My Sis is losing quite well too!

I'm not saying this WOE is for everyone, however it is working well for us atm.

Good luck on your continuing journey.

  2. I love Jason Fung! I also do IF, usually 16 hours. About two times a week I do OMAD. IF has really helped my weight loss stall.

I want to say Dr. Fung also had a video on fasting and reducing excess skin. That is really why I started fasting.

I am just leaving for work, but I will try to see if it was Dr Fung that talked about fasting and it's benefits with excess skin, or another Dr.

    TBC........

  3. Hmmmmm, I'm not a fitness coach, but do you think you are working out too much? If you are not able to eat many calories, and then these long walks and work outs, you will stall some. I am sure you already know muscle weighs more than fat, so there is that as well. You may be building muscle, so do not see a decrease in the scale.

Do your clothes fit more loosely? Maybe that could be a victory to keep positive and help up your mood.

    Best regards

  4. I had this problem as well. I couldn't keep any of them down. My Dr. had me just try milk, if I could keep that down, then try Carnation Instant Breakfast for some added Protein. So that is what I drank until I could have puréed foods. I know Carnation Instant isn't healthy, ( and so did my Dr. but he wanted me drinking whatever I would not vomit up) but it worked for me.

I found the Bariatric Pal Hot Cocoa with Marshmellows to be simply delish! Those have 15 grams of protein and very low sugar and carbs. The peach tea is good and the mango fruit drink. They all have 15 grams of protein. I got those for summer, however, I just love drinking the hot cocoa anytime. It is my new healthy comfort food.

  5. I am very leery of these types of articles. I bet if we really research this article, we may find that the artificial sweetener companies were somehow involved and or paid for this so called research. Nope, I'm not buying it. However, just because I do not partake in artificial sweeteners, does not mean I judge anyone who does. We all have to do what is best for our weight loss and what works for us.

  6. Hello and welcome!

I too was afraid to do the surgery because I love to eat as well. Also like you, I'm a big Kamado fan! But at weighing in over 320 pounds and high blood pressure I decided I had played Russian Roulette with my health long enough.

I started the program in January 2017 and had my surgery October 10th 2017. The first 6 to 8 weeks after surgery were the toughest. Not because I was hungry, but I was just tired of shakes and Soups. I really never even thought of food, I just ate because I had too. A few months after surgery , you will be able to use your Big Green Egg again. You can even have a glass of wine. I am a huge beer fan. I live in a state that is huge in brewery's. I will say I miss beer, but I love feeling better, stronger and yes, thinner. I do notice my skin is more loose, but you know, If I need to have surgery at some point, I can cross that bridge when the time I see right.

Please feel free to ask any questions or voice your concerns.

  7. I’m 51. Had my bypass on 12/11. I’ve lost 52 pounds! My main goal was to lower my blood sugar as it was very out of control. However- it is still pretty high. How long did it take any of you for your blood sugars to go down? I do worry about the “sag” as I know my skin is not young. But if I look old and am healthy I’m ok with that!

    Hello,
I was wondering if you have done a little research on eating Keto and lowering blood sugars. I really like the Dr. that started Dietdoctor.com. there is great information and videos. To see the videos, you do need to purchase a subscription at 9.00 dollars a month. However, you can do a one month free trial, just put in your phone the date you started, so you can cancel before you are charged. I kept the subscription because I find the videos informative. BTW, you can get the recipes free of charge. He doesn't charge for those.

    Good luck on your journey.

PS. I had to find a Dr. that agreed to this lifestyle . You are eating whole fresh non packaged foods but still some Drs. do not agree.

I do drink the bariatric hot chocolate however. It's my sinful pleasure, but low carb. [emoji6]
