Have a little bit less of the food ... then, after 15-20 minutes, slowly sip room-temperature water.
    Repeat after another 15-20 minutes.

I know where you are coming from, The first few days coming off sugar in particular is really tough. But it does get better. I am 6 weeks into my 3 month monitored diet and after i got over the initial hump i feel so much better. I have even managed to loose 20lbs so far.

Bear in mind that once you are through those first two to four days, it becomes relatively easy.
Your body is reacting to change and, as you say, there's an element of WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS.
    Good luck.

I'm ~8 pounds from my goal. Very thankful...but I'm having a hard time believing I'm this much smaller. I can fit into the same size clothes as my 18 y/o son now. I wish my mind would catch up with where my body is. I'm sure there are alot of people that would love to have my problem right now so I don't want to sound ungrateful. I'm very glad I'm a lot healthier.

Rainbow_Warrior got a reaction from LuellaJean in Opinions to stop losing weight
I've got around 10-12 close friends, all retired like me (who have all known me since 1985/1990) and who have seen me live through slight overweight all the way to morbid obesity.
Two of them know I have had the surgery.
About seven or eight of them tell me to my face AND on near daily Facebook posts that I am losing too much weight and that my two to five hours daily exercise 27 days per month will kill me.
    They implore me to stop.
I'm not sure what it is they worry about:
    (1) that I am now no more obese than two or three of them?
    (2) that I exist on about a third the food in public that I used to?
    (3) that I exist on Water or only one alcoholic drink per evening when I am out with them?
    (4) that my priorities have shifted since six months ago?
    (5) that their wives tell them how much better I am looking?
    (6) that a few of them are dealing with health issues other than obesity and I am winding my obesity and medications back?
    I dunno!

Something that everyone needs to keep in mind: When a post comes up in Trending Topics, or Recent Topics (the lists to the right where many of us browse recent content)....there is nothing that indicates which board that post is from.
Many of the women who commented in this thread likely clicked on it there....and had absolutely no idea which board it was posted on.
To react as though their motives were in some way inappropriate....is in itself...inappropriate.

Rainbow_Warrior reacted to DropWt4Life in Husband threatens divorce if I have surgery
My wife was fully supportive of me having wls, but this is my mindset on the issue...
Life is short. Time is the most valuable asset known to man...or woman. You are not promised anything tomorrow. All you can do is to do the best you can every day. When I die, I would hope that I was able to live my best life...That I made lasting memories with others...That I made a difference in the lives of others. It is a real drop the mic situation.
Marriage is not guaranteed to last either. We try to suppress the things that make us happy sometimes to keep our marriages strong as it is all about compromise. I will not compromise my health for a marriage or relationship though. Let me tell a story about my wife's best friend...
She was obese, pre-diabetic, in pain, and unhappy for years. Her husband loved her at over 250 pounds, and refused to support her having surgery. She stayed in the marriage for another 9 years. The marriage then ended up dissolving after an affair was discovered. She was destroyed. After the divorce, she had Gastric band surgery, and lost the weight.
She is now happy and healthy in a committed relationship with a great, supportive guy. Her takeaway is that she gave up a chance at happiness and good health in her twenties for a guy that ended up not being there in her thirties. If she could change one thing, she would have had the surgery 9 or 10 years earlier.
Do you. Don't let a husband keep you from being your best you. He isn't in pain. He isn't going through what you are going through. You can't worry about threats. Live your life. If he leaves, you will find another. Someone who believes in you. Someone who truly has your back.
I wish you the best of luck.

Be over the moon for this!
I had moments of doubt and put off surgery from 2006-2010 ... once the mortality rate fell below 0.35% (under one person in 550 operations), I knew it was mathematically safe even for a formerly super morbidly obese person as I was.
I had two lots of ten seconds of "Is this the right thing?" before the anaesthetic. Those were 20 wasted seconds.
This is an ultra smart thing I have done ... and there's over 99% chance that it will be very good to excellent for you too, @Todd_196 ... and, just as a further good omen, I live on a street called TODD Street and my wife's birthday is 19/6 (how we write June 19 in Australia). You gotta be blessed having me comment. <GRIN>
