if you google 2008 lap band conference you can get information. It is Friday, Saturday and part of sunday, 10/3 - 10/5. It is hosted at the Dallas Fort Worth Wyndham airport North hotel.

I am from South Florida and was wondering if anyone is going to the lap band conference in Dallas TX, Oct. 3-5.

i do not know about prednisone, but my doc says no to ibuprophen as it will sit in your new stomach and can cause an ulcer, etc. He recommends tylenol as it has no gastric side effects. hope this helps.

how many days does your doctor say that you must be on full liquids before progressing to soft foods? Mine says not until day 21, but I am starting to gag at the thought of another Protein shake!!!! I was banded 8/26 and was wondering what everyone else's requirements were. Thanks alot!

i am feeling good today, I had a bout of nausea and vomiting on the second night that was rough. I am having trouble getting in all my Protein and Water. I am trying but I still have the gas pains, which are diminishing, but I feel like they get worse with drinking, but I am trying. Yesterday was my first Protein Shake and I did okay with that but very full for many hours. I am glad to hear everyone is doing well.

I am so tired of waiting. I feel sad that if I don't get approved I will have just wasted my time. I know that I can appeal and what not. I just don't know if I have the fight left in me. I am at my wits end with my weight and just want to be healthy and thin. Thanks for replying though! I'll keep you posted. Everything was submitted to insurance yesterday. Gulp!

You will be approved. I fought with them for five months, and all I needed to do was gain 10 lbs!!!!!!If you need anything just let me know, you can even send me a private message with any questions. Hello, I just wanted to ask you if your five year history included a BMI of 40? The reason I am curious is because when I talked with Lap Band Solutions yesterday, they said that in my five year history, my BMI was a little under 40. I don't have any co-morbidities. I am afraid that I am going to be denied. =0( My BMI as of right now though is 41.1 though! I also have UHC Choice Plus, I just hope that I get approved. The UHC plan that I have through my employer is awesome. I went for a sleep study last week but I don't have the results back yet. However, even if I did have sleep apnea, that would only be one co-morbidity. I believe I need two. The girl that is working on getting the lap band approved for me said that sometimes the insurance company will take a joint disease as a comorbidity. I do have a joint disease in my knees, so who knows? OH, I WANT TO BE APPROVED SO BADLY!!

I was denied twice with a bmi under 40 with one comorbitity. My bmi went up to 41 we resubmitted and were approved in 10 days. My surgery was tuesday the 26th. My bmi was not over 40 in my 5 year history, I was always over 35 though. Hope this helps

I had my surgery at 0730 and I was home at about noon. I am doing GREAT and walking lots to hopefully fend off the gas. Hope it works. I am not requiring any pain meds at this time, and eating only ice chips per the doctor. My throat is very dry and scratchy from the tube, but I have no complaints. I hope all the other 26ers are doing well. Chrisy

thank you very much for your good luck wishes, they worked. I am home and walking outside and not requiring any pain meds at the present time. I understand that the gas usually dosen't kick in this quick though, I will just keep WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!! Chrisy

I had my surgery this morning at 0730 and was home by 1130. I was soooooooo glad I did not have to stay. I am taking a break from walking to catch up on the website now!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had surgery today, but I do like the fruit punch 100% whey Protein shot sold at Walmart for about 1.67 for the 24g. It tastes great if you put it in crystal light fruit punch, you do not even know that it is there. They also sell these on the internet. I know you should be eating your protein, but a girl has go to drink and these are a nice break from a thick shake. Hope this helps. Chrisy

I am also being banded on the 26th. I am in the middle of a 2 week preop diet consisting of Protein Shakes, some fruit, a yogurt and for dinner 4oz Protein 4oz veggie, and 1/2 cup of a good startch, like brown rice ww Pasta, sweet potatoe etc. Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!

my psychologist warned me about this and states that we all need to find new ways to cope. Exercise may be helpful as it releases chemicals to make you feel better. Best of luck to you, and I am sure you will feel great when you are a more healthy size.

I agree, way too little calories, the body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every one.

I started my diet tuesday, I am dring the ready to dring lean body and they taste pretty good, but I have also had a headache for two days now. I do not feel hungry, but think that it is the decrease in calories. Good luck to you with your surgery.

you need to take a deep breath and remember why you wanted to get this surgery. You know that your health will decline overtime being overweight, it happens to all of us. This is a surgery about regaining your health, the skinny part is a PERK!!!!!!!The surgery is short and blood clots are caused from immobility after surgery. It will be your job to walk, walk, walk. It also helps with the gas too!!!!!!!Best of luck to you and I cant wait to read your post surgery post.

I got my date of 8/26, I have been at this process since march. I was denied twice then approved, yeah!!!!!I will be starting my two week preop diet 8/12. I am excited an nervous. I am married to my high school sweetheart for 18 yrs, one daughter 11. Hope to get to know all of you.

I hear ya, I start on the 12th also with 2 Protein Shakes per day with a small dinner each evening. I just keep thinking it will all be worth it!!!!!
