I actually feel amazing. This process has be great so far. Minimal gas pain, no nausea, just tender incision sights. Thank you checking on me.

I'm two days away. Definitely getting nervous. Definitely have NOT gotten my physical space (bedroom) ready for post surgery. (Yes, I'm terribly messy and a procrastinator. All my clothes are everywhere!)
I am in good shape as far as food (puree options) and meds (etc.) post surgery. Tonight and tomorrow I'm busting butt to make my room enough of a nest that I can relax comfortably for a few days.
I'm getting a little bit nervous, but not tons. My only pre-op diet is tomorrow, which is good and bad. But any way I look at it, I'm all in!

Two for me. Once I got used to the Protein Shakes, I have to start on clear liquids! Ugh! I’m dying down here. I picked up a Isopure clear Protein Drink at GNC. It’s so gross, but it has Protein. Maybe I’ll get another one. My tummy is growling. 😫 I’m at my mom’s house, so she can take care of me, too!

3 days away here! My liquid diet it's brutal too. Slowly but surely getting my house put together. Thank God, my mom is coming to take care of me.

Oh that's right, I forgot. The fact that some surgeons don't require the liquid diet really makes me suspicious of the whole thing. (Especially because I know that I used to have fatty liver but I lost weight earlier this year and my gastroenterologist said it was no longer fatty at my last testing.) Certainly in some ways this diet is prepping me for post-op eating but in a lot of ways it's just torturous (because I won't be so freaking HUNGRY post-op). I think the "liquids all day + lean meat and veggies for dinner" would make me far less insane right now but my surgeon is all liquid so I'm doing my best to stick with it. Sure does stink, though.

How did my fellow 12/28 sleevers do today? We host a Christmas brunch for my husband's family every year and there was no getting out of it. I am not telling them about the surgery so it was tricky. I made a tonne of food and didn't eat any of the appetizers or Desserts, but I did put together a little plate of food to nibble at while everyone ate, mostly fruit, some eggs, and a few bits of starch. It was just going to be too hard to explain away, otherwise. I've been good on the liquid diet overall so hopefully it won't matter much. Can't believe surgery is 3 days away... eep. Hi all .. I'm going for RNY bypass on December 29th. All those emotions - nervous, scared, hopeful, determined, ready. I am fighting off a sinus infection though. I hope it won't affect the surgery. It's tough right now to get in touch with the doctor to confirm whether I can go through with it or not. i'm travelling to Mexico for it so double risk!!

Surgery on 12/27.

I had sleeve surgery on the 18th, too. So far so good. No nausea, doing ok with the pain. It does look like I'm bruising on 2 of the incision sites... Not as bad as where they did my IV, though! And I'm starting to get some acid reflux (I guess?) It's not that icky acidic bile - just a little harder when I swallow, ya know? So just trying to stay upright, walk, and drink slowly...

That’s great! I have been home for a day too and taking it slow and trying to follow all the instructions... so far it’s okay.. glad your doing well... I’m trying to hold that each experience is different and unique.. helps me just focus on my body and what it’s trying to tell me

Hello everyone. I had my surgery on the 21st and I came home last night. I was actually afraid to come home. I have heard of so many people having issues with coming home and then having to go back in to the hospital. So far so good. I am able to get in all my fluids, consume liquids, and take my Vitamins. I am so grateful!

I had my gastric bypass surgery dec 15th just got home yesterday I am surviving the liquid diet pretty well it’s very nice to have others inputs

Technical problem at one of their hospital, the surgeon office I go to have 3 places he can operate.
I seriously don't know what I will do. At least with the long liquid diet I am hardly hungry.
It takes me over an hour per meal I hope it will stay this way until surgery and that I don't get tempted with fat and sugar. I will focus on Protein but I feel abandoned by all of this.

How much weight has everyone lost in the first week on the liquid diet? I'm down 8 lbs. My hope is to lose another 4 lbs before surgery, which will mean I lost an even 20 lbs between my first appointment with my surgeon and my day of surgery.

Yup!! Eek. I had a tough night last night, with the liquid diet. I was super hungry and could not stomach the idea of another Protein Shake or broth, so I had 2 scrambled eggs. I decided they were soft, high Protein, low calorie, and low carb so they should be ok? I felt SO much better after eating them, I suspect they will be a go-to for the next week.

Given I can drink a Protein Shake in 15 minutes (which feels painfully slow!] and only suffer the sharp pains later, I’m going to have to use rules! The stopwatch idea is great!
Yesterday I took it slow-slow all day, and - no pains last night, a great sleep, and I feel really good this morning.

I think changing my type of food will be easy but regulating my (usually front end loader style) eating speed is likely to be a challenge.
5 days post op, ate 3 tspns of yoghurt today over 40 minutes. Wow.
I’d love to hear how fast others eat, and how you learned to regulate it?
