Beegirl51 got a reaction from FluffyChix in Oh no! My hair is falling out!
Thank you, all, for answering my question. I searched “hair loss” on the site and there are a lot of ladies who lost a lot of hair! I don’t feel so alone anymore. And I feel better that most have their hair grow back. Im so grateful for this website. It truly has been wonderful to go on here and just read about everyone’s accomplishments. Thank you again for your positive feedback ❤️❤️❤️

I had gastric sleeve surgery almost 4 months ago, and now my hair is starting to fall out. I had my blood work done a month ago and my Vitamins were good. I’m going to call the doctor tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? My weight loss is going slow but steady and I haven’t had any other major problems. Any comments would be appreciated.

Today I am officially the lightest I have been in over 15 years. When I met my wife I was 265 and 28 years old. Simply amazed how this thing works.

Exactly 2 weeks post op and my 43rd birthday. Figured I would post a picture of the scale from the morning before surgery and this morning. All weights as always are first thing in the AM in my birthday suit !!!!

Being newly post-op (almost two weeks out), I notice my hunger sensations haven't seemed to return yet but I'm wondering, doesn't mindfulness in eating also allow us the ability to plan our meals with intention as well? To try new things, to experiment, to see this as a lifelong journey rather than just a means to an end.

Hi! I'm 5'2.5" and 63 years old. When I met my primary care physician in September 2016, I weighed 272 lbs. I met with my surgeon in October. I had my sleeve surgery May 3, 2017 and weighed 254. I was so worried that I wasn't going to lose much weight because of my age. At first, I didn't think I was losing fast enough, but then I really started doing well. This morning, when I got on the scale, it said I weighed 199.6!!!!! I have not weighed in the 100's since I don't remember when. I am so happy I did this. I feel so much better Healthwise and I am off most medications. I also have hypothyroidism.

Hi my name is Sylvia. I'm 41 mother of 2. My son is 15 and my daughter is 21. My daughter got my best years before I let my weight get me down. We were always going camping, boating, swimming, amusement parks. But 10 years ago I hurt my back and haven't been active since. I remember about 6 years ago taking my son to an amusement park waiting in line for an hour to ride a roller-coaster only to not fit in the seat. Thank goodness I had a friend with me and my son got to ride. I was humiliated. Haven't been back. I feel I've robbed him of a lot of experiences because I physically couldn't do it. Now he is starting to get big himself. When I hit the 300 mark back last August I new it was time to make some changes. I wanna be a better mother, wife, and reclaim my life. I was sleeved 6/22/17 and don't regret it one bit. I'm already down 34 lbs my feet and legs are no longer swollen and painful. My energy is up and my spirit has been lifted. I look forward to the future. It's about time I've done something for my self as well. I want to be active and have fun with my son before he grows up on me. My daughter is getting married in October and I'm excited and not dreading people seeing me feeling self-conscious. Also my husband of 22 years deserves to have his wife back. Really looking forward to our time. Ready to travel and just enjoy life. I'm so excited everytime I look in the mirror now. Can't wait to see how I will change in the months to come.

I am more than just a surgery and weight loss. I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls whom I want to set a good example for as they grow into 2 beautiful women. I am a wife to a husband that depends on me during his own struggles with PTSD, TBI, and physical ailments from being in the Army (Infantry). I am an Equestrian and look forward to getting back on a horse in the next 2 to 5 years and training to do endurance riding and maybe even attempting Tevis (ride 100 miles in 24 hours) in 10 years. I am a Veterinary Technician who sacrifices my home life to work 10 hours a day to care for other people's pets. I have been heavy for as long as I can remember. My heaviest being right after giving birth to my oldest at 254 pounds. I have been active all through my child hood and into my early 20's but was never thin. My oldest wants to get into soccer and running while my youngest wants to get into volleyball. I don't want to just sit on the sidelines and cheer them on. I want to help them practice, teach them, and maybe even coach them. I want to run next to them in marathons. I want to ride horses with them and teach them everything I know. I want to be there when they have children of their own. I can and I will change my life. I go for my first appointment on July 25th. Fingers crossed that everything goes well for this opportunity because my body high-jacked the last attempt with esophageal issues.

    Good idea, thanks!
I’m 42, married to my high school sweetheart. Our only son just graduated high school. I enjoy our horses and dogs, walking and swimming. My hobby is barrel racing, which I hope to get to do more and easier, after my surgery. (May 31st).
After dieting for as long as I can remember, this past year I just felt as though this was me. I’m always going to have to fight my weight. The older I get, the heavier I will get. But, over the past few years I feel like I’ve lost the person I used to be. The person I want to be. At times I no longer felt the desire to ride my horse that I trained myself to run barrels. Sometimes I didn’t even want to go do things with our friends. As my weight would go up, then down some, then back up more, I slowly quit taking my horse to competitions because I couldn’t shake the fact that I had been told I was too big for him. The past couple years I’ve just kind of floated through life. It wasn’t until bariatric surgery was brought to my attention that I felt that maybe I could reset my body, become healthy, and hopefully, reset my life.

So here I am. This is just the beginning of my journey.
    Blessings to you all!
