    Post op pain when walking

Yup! Mine got a lot worse when I went back to work at around 2.5 weeks. I’m currently 4 weeks out and a few days ago it just disappeared. It went from crippling pain to normal almost overnight. My surgeon told me today that’s pretty common. I do recommend a binder while you wait it out. It didn’t cure my pain completely, but it did cut way back on the number of times I got a sharp pain at that incision site. It worked the best for me if I put it on while I was laying down. I figure that’s the position I was in while they stitched up those muscles, so if I bind my stomach in that position it will lessen the pulling.

    Traveling in a car

You’ll be fine. 1.5 weeks post-op I was only slightly uncomfortable in the car. I was nervous about the prospect of a car ride — my doc suggested putting a pillow between my stomach and the seat belt, but it honestly wasn’t even necessary.
  3. Have that checked out. In the meantime try some Benadryl to see if it provides relief — whether or not it helps can be useful information for your doc.

    TMI....but I wanna ask..

Geez louise — that is not what bloody stool looks like! It would only maybe look like that if your anus was bleeding. Ask your doc for an ‘occult blood test’. They will smear a tiny bit of stool on a card and add a drop of something that changes color in the presence of blood. Easy peasy and can rule out the possibility of a GI bleed.

    Excercise

Sleeved on 12/26 I started slowwwly walking about a mile on the treadmill after the two week mark. I was just cleared today to “kick it up a notch”. So I walked faster today. Still don’t have the energy to do much more. I’m struggling to take in more than 600-700 calories.
  6. If you had the breath test for H Pylori done (breathe into a bag, drink a liquid or chew a tablet given to you, then breathe into a bag again), where did you have it done? I took my prescription for lab work to my hospital and they did all my blood work and urinalysis but they said the breath test is done with a physician, since I need to be given either a carbon tablet or liquid. My surgeon said that's not true. Feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. I've already missed so much work for 12 appointments so far, with at least another 10 to go. I really don't want to waste any more time trying unsuccessfully to have this single lab test collected. Any advice is very much appreciated!!
