  1. I am just shy of 4 months post-op. For me, the most challenging thing has been a little of the eating too fast but more of taking too big of bites - I still chew the food down enough to swallow and not be a problem, but I think it would mentally help me feel as though I am eating not so small a portion if it wasn't gone in a few bites. I also need to work on exercising more. Sometimes I feel I am more weight obsessed than I ever was before - but as my Dr. says as long as I am getting enough Protein in and losing weight - I am headed in the right direction. -kcmagu h: 306 s: 295 c: 259

    Help me eat breakfast!

A couple of my favorite breakfasts include an egg beater omelet - 2 eggs worth (1/2 cup) which is only 60-80 cals total. depending on whether you get the type with yolk or without, to which I add a 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese (also about 60-80 cal.) Sometimes if I feel a little hungrier I might have one of the smaller sized yogurts i currently like the activia or yo plus varieties (not as much sugar as the small ones marketed for kids) another favorite is microwaveable cream of wheat or quaker weight control single serving oatmeals made with skim milk instead of Water and sometimes I'll cook some diced apple or pear in a saute pan (my mom will even use the microwave) with a little splenda brown sugar to pour over the top. These usually easily give me 4-5 hours of hunger relief. good luck! Banded 4/9/08 H: 306 S: 296 C: 173
  3. I have not been banded yet (4-10) but I am a nurse and am aware that protein deficiency frequently causes hair loss and everyone's level of how deficient they are varies. The person who stated they did not lose their hair while on the Adkins diet was right in her suspicison as to why most likely. the good news it is usually transient especially if you improve your protein intake. some people don't lose that much hair but it just gets very brittle for some and very fine for others. You can also get odd lines in your fingernails. Hope this helps - Take care!
