  1. That's a really great idea! I haven't had any clear protein...what kind do you use? Is it really sweet?
  2. No protein in a fudgsicle...what I'm struggling with is getting myself to eat the things I must to get my protein in....I'm doing it, but it's not easy!
  3. This is where I'd like to get some day...able to enjoy food without being obsessed with it...actually wanting the healthy things that I know actually feel good in the body to eat...
  4. Thanks everyone. I never thought I'd long for cottage cheese, which comes into my diet in 11 days! LOL. The hard part is I'm absolutely not hungry at all (strangest feeling in the world by the way) and everything I'm supposed to eat has no appeal...I'll survive...but it's challenging
  5. I'm on day 10 of my post-op liquid diet and "eating" has become a chore. It isn't that I crave anything...I'm just so sick of broth, yogurt, shake, jello....repeat. I don't enjoy any of it anymore...I tolerate it..barely. I'd rather not eat, but I know that's not an option. I am not allowed even thin purees for 11 more days. Ugh!
  6. Better check with your nutritionist. I'm one week out. I can have Greek yogurt but not puréed vegetables...just worth double checking
  7. I use acetaminacolone cream, which also is a prescription. It is helping to slowly clear it up.
  8. Oh, I hope it's not the whey protein! I've already got my routine down and I'm getting most of my protein in just one week after surgery, with the use of protein powders! For now, I've been applying a cream that my doctor prescribed a while back and it does seem to be helping.... I'd started having small flare ups before the surgery, which I attributed to the stress of an upcoming surgery, but I also had started drinking shakes once a day....hmmm....something to consider
  9. For years I've been prone to eczema flare ups that come and go....well, since surgery last week I've had one of the worst flare ups across both sides of my abdomen. I suspect it was triggered by the shock of surgery to my body. Anyone else experience anything like this right after surgery?
  10. No. Filled Rx at CVS without issue...but my hospital sent the prescription directly versus me coming in with paper script...maybe that's the difference.
  11. I hadn't thought about the whey...I thought I was prepared for the smell although it's weird when your gas doesn't smell like yours...it's the frequency that I'm really hoping diminishes a bit.
  12. I did the SIPS DS with Dr. Mitchell Roslin at Northern Westchester Hospital in NY.
  13. Please tell me the flatulence goes away! I'm day 6 post op. For the last three days I pass gas constantly and it smells so awful.. I'm praying this is a temporary thing...any suggestions?
  14. That's fantastic! Congratulations!!
  15. 62 oz so far today! Will get last 2 oz in by bed time!
  16. Divorce rates are already high in the general population. My therapist says the people who have issues usually after had issues before. Healthy relationships are not harmed by WLS.
  17. My surgery was on Thursday and I'm feeling surprisingly well, just 4 days later. I have a little discomfort and I can only get a portion of my protein and liquids in, but I'm really feeling pretty good!
  18. I'm glad to hear that there is no infection and now you will likely be on the mend!!
  19. I got about 35 oz in yesterday...trying for more today!
  20. I hope not! My surgeon is brilliant and considered one of the best, but I wouldn't call him the warm and fuzzy type! However, he is smart enough to have hired warm fuzzy types to run his office...the PA, nutritionist and other staff all have giant smiles!
  21. I do understand that I'm not going to be able to eat or drink what I supposed to do yet. I was just wondering on average how much people actually consumed...to know if I'm doing okay.
  22. How much water were you able to get down when you first got home from the hospital? Got home today...worried about getting enough, now that I don't have an iv...I can't imagine I can get the 64 oz I was doing before surgery, not yet...wondering what others did.
  23. 2 days post op. Going home today! Can't wait to be in my own house with my wife and dog!!
