  1. Well its my first stall, I did not loose this week. I know I need to increase my H20 and I need to exercise more. So my goal for march is to try to walk at least 3x per week and hit that 64oz Water goal. I think i'm ok with Protein, I started "regular" (whatever that is now a days :) ) so I want to make sure i'm eating my protein instead of drinking it. My goal is only one Protein Shake a day. But to be honest (cause i know you all understand) I'm really not hungry most days, I have to make myself eat.

What goals (if any) are you all working on for March?

Thanks for the accolades, I know without this surgery I would have given up or given in to eating unhealthy. I feel good and I feel blessed to have this gift (my new tummy :1007_hearts:

  2. WoooHooooo Hey Sleeve Sister (and Brother @Palmoonio 78). I am also doing FANTASTIC. Its my 3 month Surgiversary and I am officially down 60 pounds today (249). I am happy with me slow loss because i know it is not coming back. I have had a few major "life moments" and I am so proud of myself because I did not turn to food to self soothe. Going to look for you on YouTube, I am on instagram I_am_loving_the_new_me_vsg:)

  3. My Surgery was Fantastic!!! I will be three months on 2/20 and I am down 57.4 pounds. I love Dr. Curry and all the staff, I had no complications and I made sure I followed all the guidelines to the T. I feel AWESOME!! If you have specific questions once you get started, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message.

Pict on the left was 11/4 (surgery was 11/20), pict on the right was 2 months out

  4. I'm through 3 of my 6 NUT appointments and I'm not feeling a connection to her. She's young, never has an opinion or tells me anything helpful. I've asked her at each appointment to provide me with a menu of options i can eat as I prepare. (I travel a lot for work so I want to figure that out). She never remembers and acts like I haven't asked. She's told me nothing about a pre-op diet or if I'm suppossed to be losing anything. Just weighs me and says ok (the 2nd appt I gained 1, the 3rd I lost 3 - my life story). My 4th is in December. I want to know if I'm expecting too much or if I should ask for a new one (it's part of the service at my clinic). What should the NUT be doing during the pre phase? Love to hear others experiences. (BTW, I don't know anyone that's gone through WLS so no one IRL to ask). Thanks in advance.

I am so sorry your NUT is not meeting your needs. Mine is the exact opposite. I also travel for work and today is my 1 week post op visit and she spent a chunk of time giving me tips and helpful hints for work travel and eating with my Sleeve. So I don’t think you’re expecting too much!!

  5. Hi November Sleevers! I was sleeved on 11/17, I'm 8 days post op now. I am required to do a 2 week clear liquid diet for phase 1, then phase 2 I do moist and mushy in which I can add in those premier shakes, thicker Soups, sweet potatoes, and dairy! I can't wait to get passed the Clear Liquids. I got up to 64 oz of fluids today, the highest I accumulated since out of surgery. How is everyone doing in their phases?

Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

I struggled to get 64 oz in but I finally made it. I only have to do clear for a week, then I can start puréed.

  6. I️ was nervous too! I️ am exactly 3 mos out and have lost 50 pounds ( including 5 preop). I️ feel totally normal and not deprived. I️ can eat anything now- just have to eat dryer cuts of meet more slowly or it feels stuck. I️ don’t feel left out of social events or office parties. I️ just make good choices and the restriction stops me. When I’m restricted I️ have no desire to eat more. At a resent Friendsgiving at work I️ chose health options , ate only what I️ could, and had a few nibbles of small bite sized Desserts. It was a great feeling watching others pig out and not wanting to join in. Also I️ have improved so much in the exercise domain. My thighs don’t bump my tummy in spin class and I’m an animal burning all those calories. Barre classes are so much easier for me now which means I️ can push myself. I’m even doing planks!! I️ feel good about how I️ look. I’m not tired and I’m happier. So yes I️ was nervous- but so thrilled of my 3 mos results. I️’m losing about 10 pounds a month which is not as quick as others but who cares. Good luck. It’s well worth it!

Thanks for sharing this! I’m 2 days post op and wondering what have I done ☹️

You’re right Amanda I have had several good dreams[emoji23][emoji23]

  11. I was back on coffee 3 days post-op, but that was with my team's blessing. We talked about it - alot. Until about 6 months out carbonation hurt to drink. Now, I can drink seltzer with no problem and every once and a while, I'll have a diet coke.
Rice - I'll put a tablespoon or two on my plate and nibble just to get the taste. I eat the high Protein Barilla Pasta, but am full after 1/2 cup cooked.
I have a glass of wine or a cocktail a few nights a week, but keep them within my daily calorie intake and only after I have met my protein and Water goals for the day.
Sometimes I'll have half of a small baked potato. I eat everything, but it gets logged and I don't go over my budget of calories - so if I have a slice of bread its going to be a damn good one because I'm not wasting those calories on a stinkin piece of white bread!
Today, I had a small piece (about the size of my thumb) of an Amish soft pretzel at the farmer's market. My daughter ate the rest - but that small piece was enough to scratch the itch I had.

    Thanks for sharing this!!!

  12. Make sure that you include in your liquid diet fluids that are sugar free or low in sugar and calories. The idea is that your diet should be high in Protein but low in fat and carbohydrates and therefore low in calories too.
Some of the fluids you can include in your diet are:
     Water
     G2 [emoji768]
     Propel [emoji768]
     Power Ade Zero
     Crystal Light [emoji768], Clight [emoji768], etc.
     Dark coffee, preferably decaffeinated
fruit juices without sugar or low sugar
 Tea / Iced Tea, preferably decaffeinated
     Sugar free Gelatin (Jell-O[emoji768])
    Premier Protein [emoji768]
     Gold Standard 100% whey
 Beef, poultry or vegetable broth (bouillon can be used)
Water with Proteins like: Special K [emoji768] O2 or similar
 Sugar free water Popsicles no seeds or fruit pieces
     Kool-Aid [emoji768] unsweetened Tang [emoji768] unsweetened, etc.
 Carnation [emoji768] Instant Breakfast Sugar free made with skim milk, soy or almond milk
Soups / low Carb (example: Campbell’s [emoji768] veggie soups or chicken noodle, the creamed soups are much higher in carbs) pureed with water
** You can use the whey protein powder as a substitute for a full meal, three times a day, supplementing with other options during the day. Mixing this powder with skim milk tastes better than with water.
**Being only liquids it can seem that there is no way to overdo but it is possible, so you must ensure that the total intake of calories per day does not exceed 1000 calories.

    Thanks for this[emoji1417]

  13. Ugh, I know it sucks. Mine starts next week and it sounds awful. Can you have any sugar free Jello or sugar free popsicles/water ice? Maybe that can help. It's definitely not easy, everyone says it's one of the difficult parts. But every day down you're THAT much closer to your surgery day! You can do this!!!! Sending you all the good vibes and positivity!

I start my pre op Diet next week too! We can do this !!!
