I know what you mean. I suggest do the endoscopy and anything to do with pulmonary first. I was told to I didn't need a sleep study then I recently went to the pulmonary and was told he was sending me and in order to clear me I would have to get that done, so when I thought I will be done by Oct 4th it's looking like I will not. I did the sleep study and the technician gave it away when we were talking saying when I come back for the second test. smh SO IDK I wanted my surgery date already. But I leave it in Gods hands.

Yes I had an hp and it stop working in just a year and I paid 800$ such a waste of money. That’s why I want a MacBook at least they have life warranty and is good. I am hoping for October but it seems like another thing is added to the list per specialist. I am getting a sleep study as per pulmonary which I was told in the beginning I didn't need it and now I do..... SMH And I asked in the beginning if it was part of my requirement was told everyone is different and no I did have to get one done. Would have had that done a long time ago. Last two appointments are my Pre-op from my medical provider and Nutritionist both the same day Oct 4th and I'm done God willing. I will be going to get surgery done at Mount Sinai @ St. Lukes. I was suppose to go to Montefiore but my first appointment would have been in October and would have to wait a long time for the surgery. TBH I just want to have surgery this year not next year because I want to start School in January.

I'm happy for you! How was this weeks been like? Almost 1 month surgeversary for you!! Did you join the gym? You need to start and later on you will love it. It happen to me, i hated going to the gym alone but I was like if I don't do it who is going to do it for me, no one so I got up one day and went and did that for like 6 months until I completely stop. Hopefully I am having surgery October or November the latest. I'm really hoping October though

Yes even with insurance but I found a doctor here actually near me that doesn't. Only thing it requires me to go twice so that's it. I'm okay with that although he cleared me on my first visit!

Hey everyone I went to do my Endoscopy today. They gave me paper work with the results saying I have a Hiatal Hernia and Mild Erythematous Mucosa of the Antrum which they did two biopsies. I know they are checking if I have H. pylori which I don"t think I do. Also it said it can be gastritis???? I'm worried I don't want this to get in the way of me getting surgery. I really want this done by at least October or November the latest. Anyone has gone through this and can let me know what to expect?

Can that be the cause of acid reflux and heartburn cause if I take anything that is spicy, tomatoes sauce, acidic, caffeine anything of that sort I am in pain and acid goes up and down. What do you think?

I'm glad I am actually doing this cause if I wasn't go for this surgery I would have never found out I had this probably. So I went to my psych eval today and let me just say it wasn't what I thought it would be. I did like 6 pages a total of 62 questions. The Dr. Robins was a really nice psychologist who ask me a few other questions and was like yes I see you being a success and he cleared me right away. He did diagnose me with depression due to weight. He believes once I do surgery and lose the weight I will no longer feel the way I do and I agree. Only downside due to me having Fidelis I would have to see him one more time which I was scheduled for next Tuesday and I'm okay with it. My coordinator said she never heard of Fidelis asking for 2 psych but whatever. I'm not mad at it. Also I had my doctors appointment today and she referred me out to cardio and pulmonary because she said they are the only ones that can clear yet I don't have any condition related to those specialties. So little pissed because they're appointments are in October and really wanted to be done by my next visit to my PCP which is the first week of October. So I am going to see if I find another specialist at another place..... Friday is my endoscopy can't wait hoping everything goes well with them.

In July I was referred out and seen in August and was told I can have surgery as soon as I complete all the requirements. It's been over 12 years that I've been overweight and is just taking over my life. I can't do basically anything and it's frustrating. This weight is what makes me depress so I'm ready to get rid of this depression and this excess weight.

Poor food choices due to the fact that I didn't have time during the week and was just to overwhelmed to make time or even make two different meals at home. Taking care of my 3 daughters and husband came first even before me. I had to cook how they like, not how I would had love to cook (less sodium). In my culture you have to make sure to cook with salt and oils and sazon the Dominican/Ecuadorian way. I was lazy as well it was like I gave up. I also would catch my self eating cause I was bored and sad I needed my ice cream. I would do Juice fast lose an X amount of weight and gain double. After having my first daughter back in 2005 I gain 80 lbs in pregnancy and 20 to 30 for the other two that I was never able to go back to my normal weight. The closest I have ever got was two years ago I lost to 167 but gradually gain it back and so much more. I can say I hit obesity stage the beginning of this year. My family are also in the overweight and obese category but I can't sit here and say is due to that because I know is so much more then just genetics. I hope to finally have my tool to completely lose the weight for good.

UPDATE: I called Montefiore to schedule an appointment for both specialist but there appointments are far into October so I called Essen Medical in the Bronx and I got an appointment today and next week for both speicalist. I had ask my bariatric doctor if I needed to see the specialist and he said no that my doctor would give me the clearance letter if not I would have scheduled that a long time ago and probably wouldn't have to wait till later on but God knows what he is doing. I'm just going to take it a day at a time. I rather be clear and make sure everything is alright before going into surgery.

Hey how did it go? I didn't see you there? I went it was quick wasn't there long. I have to go back next Tuesday supposedly because Fidelis requires two visits. Sucks but whatever. He was nice and it wasn't no long questionnaire either. He actually cleared me and diagnosed me with depression due to weight. But I still have to go back.

I called and they gave me an appointment for Tuesday the 5th at 9 YAY!!! They didn't give me no ultrasound referral. Is the Tuesday the psych if so I guess we meeting... LOL I need a someone anyone to talk to about the progress. Is hard not having no support.... Hope you don't mind.

Really you have to be what???? SMH I haven't heard anything but please tell me. Where is Dr. Charles Robin located. Is he good. I want someone that know what he is doing..... No they did they gave me the sheet that says the requirements and told me to take it every appointment I have. Only referral I got was the Endoscopy and by email. I didn't even get a requirement to do Sleep study which was weird to me cause I hear mostly everyone has to do it.

I need to schedule the Nutritionist but for some weird reason they want me to go when I have all the other requirements done. I really wan to see them to help me with a plan to lose the 10 lbs but no they want me to go back in October to see her. I actually scheduled my appointment with a Psych in Washington Heights for Sept 4th and first come first serve. His name is Dr. Miguel Hernandez at 286 Fort Washington ave NY NY 646-792-6150 he takes Fidelis. Call them you don't have to pay anything they take the insurance from what I was told. I will be there on the holiday as per the secretary that day is going to be slow and not a lot of people but to go at 9 he gets there after 11. To make sure to bring the paper with the requirements so they can fax the report to them. I can't wait for that appointment. I would be pissed off too wait that long and then they cancel the appointment, their wait time is ridiculous !
