Yes make those calls especially to the big hospitals but also consider the support you actually could get from a go fund me page. It takes a lot of courage and humility and you will probably be surprised at who steps up to help you and support your desire to take charge of your health. You could even say this could be structured as a loan if you want but if you are willing to go to any lengths I am sure there are people who love you and want to help!! Good luck!!

Thanks!! I guess it's just the embarrassment of feeling like I can't loose the weight on my own and need a proc dure like this.. people might think I'm just a binge eater and lazy and might not want to help... I guess I just need to trust God i believe my problem was allowing discouragement to overpower me when I know God can open a door for me ... i just need faith and a few works to experience his promises to my life thank you all again

One more option, there is a card called CARE CREDIT that you can apply for. It covers anything medical. Heck, my little dog needed knee surgery and I used this card. I bought my contacts with it. So it is very versatile. Never give up something will come up. When you decide to persue this further have your Surgeon's office turn in all of the information because they do this all of the time so they know what insureances want and need. So sorry this is happening hang in there.

Thanks!!!! Yes I feel so much better I have ally of things I need too look up and try !!! Thanks

Call a couple of the big hospitals in your area; whoever does the most bariatric procedures. I know at the hospital I was going to, some patients qualified to be part of their research or clinical trials. I had insurance so I didn't go that route but I would have considered it if I hadn't been covered. I know people in AZ who are on state sponsored insurance (for low incomes) get covered for WLS. It surprised me but I know 3 people now who've gone that route. If neither of those work out, the enrollment period for insurance is coming up again in the fall and you may be able to switch to another plan.

Thanks so much I have been writing down a lot of the ideas I really want to build a plan and hopefully manage to follow it through .. being obese ever since I as a little girl has not been easy.. but I see I'm not alone and a lot of people are dealing with this as well I'm loving this group

Some companies just don't cover bariatrics. It's too bad if yours is that way.

Going to Mexico is not as crazy as it sounds. I went myself and had a good experience.

Sometimes challenges are put in front of us so we can become stronger through the effort of overcoming them.

Examine your work, is there a way to earn more? Overtime? 2nd job?

Do you have assets you could sell?

    Get a credit card?

Cut your budget to the bare essentials?

    Borrow from friends or family?

Well I'll be looking into some of those options... thank you

If your insurance company doesn't have bariatric coverage, they won't cover bariatric surgery under any circumstances. This is known as a bariatric surgery exclusion.

Since your insurance has no bariatric coverage, and you don't have the money or financing to pay cash, your best bet is to find another job with insurance that will pay for weight loss surgery.

Again, good luck to you. :)

Guess you are right keep on being as healthy as can be excersising and hoping for the best I guess it's a hard thing to find a good insurance :(

  6. I have tried two different types of insurance and haven't been able to get covered .. I'm not sick like with ulsers or diabetes or hypertension so I'm not eligible yet my health problems re not enough to approve me for that surgery .. I am trying to save but I'm just a regular person with a regular income and was just curious enough for programs out here.. it's a shame they can't take morbid obesity as a life or death situation

  7. Hey guys, so I have been overweight ever since I can remember, I barely heared last year of the existence of all these surgeries that can change morbid obesity patients.. I went to a weight loss doctor in Texas and begun my procedure and had to quit half ways.. due to financial stress. it's so frustrating being this way, I'm facing so much depression due to my weight I feel like a human mistake sometimes, I have no money nor good credit to get my surgery, I definitely do not want to post a gofundme page in my Facebook page to have everyone make fun of me... I do not feel good about myself , dieting and excersizing has lead me to loose 10 pounds all year it's ridiculous how bad my metabolism works... I Guess my question is there an charity or somewhere private that a obese person like myself can get a sponser or someone to help.. I seriously can't even sleep anymore if I not get help I am proboblyguess I my live long .. I feel like a big failure I'm ready to give up. I really need the duodenal surgery
