  1. Thanks for the reminding me about the Baritastic app, I remember hearing about it in the support group I attended at the Center for Obesity. I am definitely gonna try it, because I am doing a terrible job of tracking my Fluid intake. I think I am getting enough but I am never finishing anything and I've got Water bottles, Protein water bottles, and Protein Shakes that I intend to finish at varying levels of fullness leftover in the fridge.

I have never been good at tracking but i feel it is absolutely necessary for success. I’m doing my best to track everything. I find this app very helpful.

  2. Yes I was sleeved march 9 with dr Szomstein at Cleveland clinic in Weston FL. It’s about a 25 minute drive. The Bariatric team is awesome. I was treated so well during my hospital stay. I highly recommend them. They definitely live up to their stellar reputation. Over all I feel fine . Just a little sore where they removed the stomach. On surgery day they gave me Tylenol and nausea meds prior to surgery. That really helped bc when i woke up. I didn’t have any pain just tightness in my abdomen. I didn’t have any gas pain either. I have not had any issues swallowing or vomiting. Extremely smooth recovery.

  3. First night home in my own bed!! I slept hugging a pillow, which was very comfortable. I kept in check of the pain, and stayed on track with the pain meds. I slept until after noon!!! I'm having Jello for the first time since surgery on Tuesday. My goal is 48oz of clear fluids today, (4) five minute walks and healing!! How is everyone else doing?!

Had my surgery yesterday, 3/9 was able to take sips of Water when I got to my room after recovery. Had a slight fever over night so I have to stay one more day just for observation. I also had my first meals today. Was able to keep down broth, and jello no problem. Have not had much gas pain. Just a little sore in my tummy area.

March 12th, MONDAY! IT'S SO REAL NOW! IT'S SOOO EFFIN' REEAAAALLLLLL! *shrieks and runs off into the sunset*

Lol... I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with myself because I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. My surgery is on Friday. #soooeffinreal

  5. Well 3:30 in the morning. Officially started stage 1 now. Able to start little itty bitty sips of Water now every hour. Pain is not to bad. Had pain meds at midnight and don’t feel I need them right now. Walked a total of 5 laps last night. Very happy about that. Staff here is just amazing!!!
Today is going to be great!!! I can tell.

    How are you doing ?

  6. So confused and concerned when my surgeon told me he would only be removing 50% of my stomach!!!
    My surgery is today!?
    Help?

Oh my! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or bad. Did you request pictures? My surgeons office said they remove about 70%. How did things go for you? How are you feeling now?

  7. I am having the surgery on March 9. I am very nervous/excited also. I would like to have kept my surgery a little more private but have received a lot of advice from a coworker who is a fellow sleever. So instead of assuming they will keep my confidence I have been pretty open about it. Also my mother-in-law, who can't hold Water, saw my obesity surgery folder. Normally I am very private person so this is a little uncomfortable for me, but I am hoping it will help hold me accountable.

I’m March 9th as well! Where are you located?

  8. I had a BMI of 38 with a diagnosis of high blood pressure and was initially denied because my blood pressure was controlled(with bp meds) and my bmi was only 38..but I then went for a sleep study and was diagnosed with moderate obstructive sleep apnea.I was approved within a couple of days.I have UHC Community Plan.Best wishes and stay hopeful!!

Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh wow, insurance companies can be such a pain sometimes. I also have a “low BMI” 38 when I started the process. With high blood pressure controlled with medication. I have Cigna OAP. While going through all the test found out I also have mild sleep apnea. Luckily, I was approved with no problems got the good news just 5 days after office submitted.
