  3. I'm ultra sensitive to nausea from vitamins and have had no issues with the natrol brand biotin and with some bariatric brand calcium chew (was given a ton of samples). I also do really well with the vitafusion women's gummies from Costco. I don't know if we are supposed to have gummies but I just let them melt and macerate them in my mouth. They taste good too. The flinstone ones have that chalky taste and I can't stomach them at all. Done well with the gummies! 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Just cannot eat

Hey sleeve twin!! Yeah, got a little overzealous with my excitement yesterday. Woke up today, took a sip of water and am now totally nauseated and the thought of eating sounds awful. [emoji20] I haven't started exercising yet other than walking because I can't get enough water in to do the workouts that I used to do pre surgery (so loved being the heaviest one in there[emoji849]), and I am terrified of throwing up mid class. I don't have a scale at the house bc I know myself and I'll obsess, like to the point of weighing multiple times a day, but I think I've hit a stall. I'm sure it's from not getting enough water and calories in. I've read so many people hitting stalls and were able to get it moving again by upping water and calories but I am fighting water daily. I haven't been weighed since my two week post op but have another md appointment in 3 weeks so I'll know my weight then. How has your loss been? Any suggestions on what you can eat that seems to sit well? I love the cauliflower pizza idea. I've seen those already done at the grocery store. I'll grab one this week. Here's to getting through this!! [emoji173]️ 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Just cannot eat

I turned a corner today!! Omg I was able to eat a little and my energy was so much better! Was able to eat a small cup of tomato soup for lunch and about an ounce-ish of chicken and a couple bites of mashed potatoes for dinner. I feel like a new person!!! And for a snack I had a wedge of laughing cow cheese. Now I just gotta get my water in. But hey, small victories!! Woohoo!! 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Surgery Update

Hang in there! Pain meds combined with all the gas they fill us with creates all sorts of odd sensations. Head hunger sucks and came back really early for me too. You'll feel more satiated when you can have shakes. Hang in there! The first week is tough bc you're having all these new feelings, mentally and physically plus narcotics are involved! You got this!! Just cannot eat

I was just able to eat a small bowl of super cold watermelon. I literally macerate it in my mouth till it's liquid. Unfortunately there isn't any protein in it and it's super filling but it felt so good to get natural vitamins as well as being refreshing. Having a shake too, well trying to. Again, who ever though that I'd be trying to get UP to 1000 calories!??!!! Two months ago, before preop started, I could knock 1000 out in one sitting [emoji20] 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Just cannot eat

Well, it'll be 4 weeks for me on Monday, and I officially cannot eat. Tried a soft scrambled egg, got through two bites. Tried a super soft, ripe avocado, cldnt even get two teaspoons down. Even made the ricotta bake, nope. Just turning me off. I need to drink more water but it has to be super cold or I get nauseated. I'm terrified weight loss will stall bc of this. I've read how getting calories up to close to 1000 and staying hydrated is key but I just can't. Protein shakes cooling in the fridge so my goal is two today. I guess I'll just keep drinking my bariatric hot chocolate made with milk, despite it being over 100 degrees here today and my protein waters. I want to get my nutrients from whole, real foods but I just can't. Never thought I'd complain about not being able to eat but am terrified of my hair falling out bc of poor nutrition. ☹️[emoji20] 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7
  10. My only concern would be taking it while the narcotics are in your system. I would wait till your system is clear of them and you're only using liquid Tylenol for pain. Double check with you MD but I wouldn't mix it with narcotics like Vicodin or any others. It's pretty benign stuff so I wouldn't assume it would be an issue other than dealing with head hunger and the intensified effect MJ can cause. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Anyone from Great Britain

Hey! From an American that used to live in London, refried beans are basically mashed pinto beans. They have a similar consistency to mushy peas. Have you tried those? I know split peas have a lot of protein so maybe the mushy peas do too? 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7
  12. I was sleeved on the 7th and am soooooo close to soft Foods-next Monday!! Every time I introduce a new food in the lovely puréed stage I feel icky after. I don't fully dump but I get hot and sweaty and have to lay down for a bit. It does pass. Today was the worst with a food choice that may have been too fatty. When I introduced some puréed chicken salad, it was a bit too rich too. I'm back to ricotta bake, protein shakes and soups. I'm excited to have a soft scrambled egg on Monday!! My family is off to get burgers and fries and I miss being able to go get some too. But man, if I were to even take a bite, ugh... I'd be bed bound for the night. Now I fully understand why the dietician told me to make sure I try new foods at home! This whole thing is crazy! I'll be 4 weeks post op Monday! Wow! Flying by!!!! God bless bariatric hot chocolate made with milk otherwise without the 25 grams of a protein boost, I would not be getting enough protein! I'm also still struggling to get all my liquids in. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Just cannot eat

One thing that really helped me last weekend was going to a high end, gourmet market that has really nice pre made soups and foods. I picked out a nice soup that was pretty rich in protein and took it home and puréed it. Not prepping it myself helped some reason. Their roasted chicken also appealed to me so I may grab some and make a chicken salad with it. Walk through the pre made food area of a nice market and see if that stimulates you. The soup I got was heavenly. Ironically I have a pot of puréed homemade chili that I used grassfed organic beef, beans and tons of yummy veggies all made with a bone broth base and I don't want it at all. No interest! I am going to head to the gourmet market again and see what they have in their case and hot food and see if that'll help again. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Family having pizza tonight!!

Pizza is the one food that drives me crazy post op! I always enjoyed it but now, I see it, even the cheap cardboard kind, and want it. Ironically, 3.5 weeks out, I'm struggling with getting my allowed food in but if I could eat pizza, I am worried I wld. I left a party bc of it! I went home and had a shake and once I was away from it and had some protein in my system I was ok but man, I feel ya! I never craved it before surgery like this. I think it's the hot, savory goodness I want. I did make the ricotta bake and that helped. Once I'm healed I'm looking forward to trying the plant based crust bc I think I may need to stay gluten free. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    Just cannot eat

Hey! We are in the same boat. I am 3.5 weeks out and can barely stomach food. It's really catching up with me too bc I'm running around after two 8 year old twin boys, driving all over town, and my energy had plummeted. I was doing fine until this week. I cannot seem to get my protein in or all my water. Yesterday I was so fatigued and weak that someone asked me if i was ok to drive home! One trick that has worked, though it takes me forever to get though a mug, is that bariatric hot chocolate that has 15 grams of protein. I mix it with 8 ounces of milk bc cup of milk has 10 grams of protein so 25 grams in a mug. The taste is pretty good, it's just kind of rich and takes me about 1-2 hours to get through. As I write this though, not having eaten anything yet, the thought isn't appealing. (Who ever thought I would not want food??!!!) my biggest concern is losing my hair if I can't get my protein up-omg trading in one insecurity for another!!!! Last night we went to Thai food and I ordered soup made with coconut milk to up my calories and added soft tofu. I got a little down. I'm right there with you! I have even thought about puréeing a protein bar into my shakes. You should see my front room-Amazon delivered powdered peanut butter (PB2), bars and shakes. It looks like a protein store and I want none of it. Holding your hand from California! I'm here with ya! 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

    I new at all this

My BMI was 39 when I started the process and I actually gained 8 lbs in those 6 months. As long as your MD writes those monthly reports saying what you're doing both diet and exercise wise, see all the other folks your insurance requires, you should be fine. I was approved after I jumped through all the hoops after the 6 month period. We had the same conversation, the insurance coordinator and I, "don't lose too much weight!" She jokingly said. Joke is on me-I gained a few and have never been able to lose more than a few lbs anyway with all my other lovely thyroid and pituitary issues. I laughed uncomfortably. It all worked out though. I think those monthly reports from your MD carry a lot of weight...no pun intended. [emoji15][emoji12] 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

Two days of clears is AWFUL

The preop diet and clear liquids were so hard for me! Honestly, it was the hardest part of the whole process. I'm 3 weeks out and it's easier bc we have a new stomach that needs to heal. But, before surgery when our stomachs are still normal and we can still tolerate our old diets, it was HELL for me too!!! Omg-hardest part!! You're almost there!! The first 48-72 hours are tough but you'll have pain meds. You'll also feel yourself getting better and better every day. Head hunger still sucks but those two weeks preop were tough! Hang in there!!!! Take a lot of naps! I made myself sleep so I wldnt think about it!! 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

Ideas on what to tell work

I ended up having a massive hiatal hernia that he fixed while in there so I tell people I had hernia surgery. I'm really close with a group of ladies I've been taking Pilates with for a couple years, and I'll be out for about 6 weeks bc of my "hernia surgery." They keep asking where I am and if I'm ok so I told our instructor and she passed the info on. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

BCBS California, how much do they cover?

I have BCBS and they covered 90% 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7
  22. Same for me out in CA. My surgeon said you could get a letter from god saying you need to have the surgery asap and they wouldn't care. Both my OB and endocrinologist wanted me to wait as little time as possible but BCBS still made me wait the 6. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7

  25. I just had my two week post op apt Wednesday and asked the same questions. My surgeon told me cardio is fine now but core workouts like Pilates, TRX, barre should be at least 4-6 weeks out. I'll be going back to my weekly Pilates at 6 weeks out, starting back with a one on one with my instructor before going back to my group class. At our bariatric support group on Thursday, this also came up. The bariatric nurse from our local hospital was there and she said it is imperative that we get protein in before and after our workouts. I'm a little freaked out to go back to orange theory bc I can't seem to get all my water in and those workouts make me want to down water like crazy. I was thinking taking a protein water to orange theory with me. I think I may start walking my 3 mile loop for a couple weeks first and then hitting orange theory. I'll be three weeks out tomorrow and am definitely feeling like I'm not moving enough. 5'7 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 235 At 2 week post op GW: 150 Fantasy GW: 135 Sleeved 8/7
