  1. Hi Belle3endosleeve,
Thanks so much for your reply. I am almost 42, also have 3 kids and bmi is currently 36. I am about the start the 2 week pre procedure diet which is 2 shakes and a meal with 200g Protein and non starchy veg. My dr has a very strict post procedure diet of 4 weeks liquid only, so I imagine it's going to be a tough month! And the worst is no drinking even Water for the first 2 days. We are booked into a clinic for IV fluids only.
what is your pre and post procedure diet like?
    Mel x

@melesg. Ahhh I just got so excited reading this...it's all so intense but is going to be THE turning point in our lives...where we got healthy for our kids, ours selves and our husbands!!! I have no pre-procedure diet but post is intense: day 1 nothing, day 2 clear liquid only, day 3-30 puréed liquid diet only. So I'm thinking Soups, Protein Shakes etc. I'm somewhat lactose intolerant so God help me ...as so many liquids have dairy. WeGOT this girl! So exciting...I weigh 192 & am 5'6. How about you?

  2. Hi Everyone,
Im in Australia and having my esg in 2 weeks. Would love to keep in touch and support you all on this journey. I'm both excited and a little terrified. Mostly excited though. Good luck to you all [emoji173]️

@Melesg. Very exciting! Would love to keep in touch! Mine is scheduled for sept 28th I'm 43 years old, I have 3 kids and am between 30/31 BMI. What are your stats?

  3. I shared with most of my family and just 3 other good friends. My reason is , I was able to loose in the past 30-40 lbs but regained, and I see peoples reaction "She is taking the easy way out" . When you are in the verge of diabetes, Bp and/or cholesterol, you do what is possible to be healthy, and that is my goal. I rather avoid this extra negative comments.

How far out are you from your procedure? Have you consumed alcohol yet? Have you noticed any change to the way your body metabolizes it? Feel
Drunk much more quickly? Any odd unusual or unexpected side effects? Gas? LoL [emoji23] thanks!!

  4. I have a procedure date and just found out my insurance has partically approved it, which is great. I want to have to have this procedure done, but I'm so nervous about it. I think it's more of the unknown for the years ahead more than the actual procedure in itself. So happy to have found a forum for this. There's not much out there and like some people, I'm not putting it out there for people to start asking questions. It's kinda lonely not being able to really speak to people about this My husband is supportive (thank goodness) but unless you're going through this, you don't really understand.

@DMC2002 I totally agree it's somewhat lonely because I'm not talking about it with anyone but my husband and my mom& mother-in-law. Thank goodness they're all supportive too. They certainly don't want to talk about it all day like I do...lol. When is your date? Mine is Sept 28@2pm. I'm so excited but nervous because the post-procedure diet is all liquid/pureed for 30 days. I'm sure there will be some tough days but I know I can get through it and I'm DONE with being overweight. My BMI is between 30/31. I'm looking to loose 35/40 pounds. When I fund out about this procedure I literally didn't stop my search until I have a consultation. It's an incredible option with almost zero side effects other than weight loss. I am so ready!!!

  5. I have scheduled my ESG for sept 28th and am also a low bmi (30) and didn't qualify for traditional Bariatric surgery. This procedure is covered by my insurance as well. So stocked!! I called all over the country for weeks to finally locate a facility in California that performs this new procedure. Perhaps call some of the more established hospitals that perform it and ask if anyone in TX is doing it. Johns Hopkins, UCI, mayo Clinic, etc. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

  6. He has seen me do Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, lose a significant amount of weight and then put it all back on, plus more. Since the procedure is not covered by my insurance, it means that I have to pay out of pocket and my husband feels it's a waste of money. I really hope this is the solution to my yo-yo weight problems. I want to lose 50 pounds and keep them off. I'm hoping the follow-up from Hopkins helps me learn how to eat, exercise and keep the weight off. I want to prove to myself and my husband that I can do this.

When is your procedure scheduled? Where is it scheduled and where do you live? I have an incredibly great feeling about what this will do - I think you're still able to make food mistakes but it gives you a powerful tool to support your new lifestyle. I'm so excited to have discovered this thread!!

  7. Initially I was not going to tell anyone, but then my husband ( who is not supporting the ESG procedure) started telling people. So I decided that I'm not embarrassed by my choice to have the ESG procedure. If I'm asked what I'm doing to lose weight, I'll tell the truth, but I'm also not going to spread it around. It's my business and no one else's.

    ESG Procedure Date 9/29

Oh no why isn't your husband supporting the procedure? That must be hard!

    Procedure date Sept 28th

  8. This is very exciting to have discovered a thread of others having done this procedure or those that have it scheduled. So hard to find info about this online!! I have mine scheduled for September 28 2pm at UCI (university of California Irvine). I have three kids and have struggled to drop the baby weight after the third baby. My BMI is about 31. I've tried every thing to lose the weight and it just keeps coming back. I'm so excited for this procedure AND nervous and would love to connect via email or better yet on the phone with anyone that has already had the procedure done and would be willing to talk! Belle3

  9. @Zaa I had a face-to-face consultation with my doctor at UCI and the stitches are never removed and ultimately end of healing together so procedure is not reversaable unless it is done shortly after conducted. It is meant to be a permanent change to your stomach pouch. You can stretch it similar to other Bariatric surgeries.

Has anyone who's had the procedure had trouble with no longer being able to gulp Water? I love gulping water after a run or when I've gone without for a while and am nervous about that. Anything else to report? Can you share the Top 5 greatest aspects to getting the procedure and top 5 most challenging aspects?

    Thanks so much!!
