Read around this site--the three-week stall is kind of legendary, or at least very, very, very common. Your body kind of needs to pause to catch up every now and then; many people report losing inches during this time, if not pounds on the scale.

My doctor advised not even thinking about weight loss--to focus on the big four things: Water, Protein, Vitamins, and exercise. I'm human and I have a really good scale, though, so . . . yes, it's great to see it change nearly every day. I'm sure I'll find the three-week stall frustrating. But just hang on in there--it'll start going down again.

Oh--and this won't be your last stall, either, so . . . chin up!

Thank you So much! I started looking after I posted and am seeing it. It is good to know. I am loosing inches, I can really tell that is happening. I am also retaining Water for some reason. Not sure why since I get about 80 ozs. a day.
Anyway, I really appreciate your kind words. Hope you are feeling well, we are 9 days apart. I am still very tired, but it's getting better everyday.

  2. Hi Everyone,

Not sure if I am just over reacting, but it seems like my weight loss has stalled and tomorrow will be my three weeks post op. I have no idea why. I am getting ready to start my soft foods and I have been doing the puree this last week. I found some recipes and have not gone over or eaten anything that isn't recommended. I am working on my activity and am walking 20 min. a day. I don't know if I am just over reacting or not, but I don't like this stall. I saw my surgeon at 10 days post op, and my weight has not really changed much since then.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!! :)

  3. Everything went really well. I ended up not having any drains! That made me happy. I had a rough time coming out of anesthesia, but once I did I was up and moving and didn't stop. I thought I would be in the hospital for 2 or 3 days, but I came home the next day.

The gas pain wasn't fun, but I got through it no problem.

So now what I'm wondering is how do I sip and not take in air. I have been trying, but I always end up burping every time I drink.

I'm not worried about loosing weight. I'm mostly curious to see how quickly it's going to come off.

  4. Tomorrow is my surgery day, and I am super nervous. Not really sure why, I have had surgery before. I think most of it is because I remember what the gas pain is like. I had my galbladder out and it was the one thing about pain that really stands out to me. I am also concerned about what life will be like after surgery. I of course want to make the change or I wouldn't be doing it, but regardless of that life will now be completely different. I am very much looking forward to feeling better. I already do just being on the liquid diet. I am also looking forward to being able to do things that are very difficult for me right now. Like hiking, sight seeing, traveling, just living day to day. I know that life is going to be much better, and that is what I want. Not to mention the health factors that go with it. I have never been too much into caring about the how I will look part, but I have to admit recently, over the last few days, I have been thinking about what it will be like to fit into clothes that I have not ever fit it. What it will be like to wear my husbands t-shirts and sweats if I want. I am looking forward to that. I am also looking forward to cute clothes.

Anyway, I may update again before tomorrow, if not I will see y'all on the other side! :)

  5. So I am on day 3 of my liquid diet. My surgeon said that I might need a stool softener for Constipation, but I am having the other spectrum. It's loose and several times a day. Is this normal, or should I worry about IBS. I know that sounds crazy, but my surgeon said that if I have IBS that my trips to the bathroom after the surgery would be very frequent. I have never had a diagnosis, but have had issues with loose stools when I don't eat right. I am just a few days out and letting my mind play with me a little.

    Thanks!

  6. Hi Everyone,

I am new and enjoying what I am seeing so far. It has been awhile since I have been involved in a forum. It is nice to be part of another one.
I also have my surgery date scheduled, it is Aug. 18th. So close, and I know it is going to go by very fast. I also know that being nervous is part of this. I am more nervous about after the surgery, then the surgery itself. I am not worried about the pain or how long it takes to recover. I am more concerned about what it is going to be like after the surgery. I have read what to expect, what can happen, and what will likely happen. I have also read many people talking about their experience and I have to say sometimes is scares me a little. I don't think anything would scare me out of having the surgery, so I a not worried about that. I just hope that I am able to handle the more icky parts of this surgery.

Oh and I am on day 2 of my pre surgical liquid diet. It's not too bad as I have done shakes in the past. Mostly I just have a headache and I am exhausted.
