  1. I'm a civilian working on a military base. This week, two of the soldiers I work with commented "you're looking thinner" and "you look like you've been losing weight". Yay! I'm sure it didn't hurt that last weekend I found a new pair of black pants that fit instead of just sagging all over. 26 pounds down since surgery....

  2. I tried a scrambled egg when I first went on purees. It took me a long time to get half of it down. I have had another since, but actually have had more luck with hardboiled (while on soft foods). pureed chicken salad (yours sounded good - mine had greek yogurt, lemon juice, dried onions and herbs) went down a lot better. And I ate a lot of lowfat cottage cheese. I mixed ricotta with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and some splenda. Texture was a bit gritty but the flavor was good and it went down well.

  3. Yay!
Of course every program is different, but 1 week post op my surgeon nor NUT were surprised by my low calorie intake. They just wanted to know about Protein and fluids. At 4 weeks out I'm at about 670 calories per day. With such low food volume, it's tough to get more in. My program stresses 3 meals and no snacking if one can help it

  4. I haven't had any problems with premier post surgery, but do find that i like the caramel and vanilla less than I did preop and the chocolate more. Haven't tried the Cookies and cream yet, but picked up the peach from Sams when I found out. It's good. The first sip was really a peach wow. That tapered as I continued to drink but I enjoyed it!

Aw come on Pride of the Badgers, you know better than this. It is no longer your job to eat food just so it doesn't get away from you. You are not the world's trashcan, that was one of my failings, I'm a mommy, rather than refrigerating the end of the cassarole after casserole, i ate it. Now I have a rump that won't fit through the rabbit hole, shoot it barely fits through a metal drainpipe. I wouldn't say it's head hunger you aren't even using your head to think. You are suffering from terminal boredom and unconscious engorgement. You are abusing your new tool, it's like putting it in a vise grip and pounding it with a sledge hammer. You know you know better, there isn't anyone stuffing things in your crumb cruncher but you. Put the Reese cups down, no not down your throat, child. If you were in Texas Fluffy Chix would administer a b***h slapping and I might just let her.Now up off of your rump, drink some Water or chrystal lite, you are a foodaholic and just like an alcoholic trying to reform you need to stay on that wagon, even if it's an uncomfortable haywagon.Yeah food is all around you, it's trying to seduce you back into its clutches. I live 30 miles from Dublin Ohio, the home of Wendy's. You think I don't have a barrage of commercials headed my way? Buck up Buckaroo, don't sit and feel sorry for yourself, yeah you made a mistake, wonder you didn't get sick, but you can And should vow to nor do it again. Think you want a fry? A moment on the lips, forever on your hips. Think how greasy slimy cold frenchfry grease is.Get up and clean but do some knee bends, March in place, sing Go you chicken Fat Go. You can do it, take some of that resolve that got you past your surgery, nothing to it but to do it. You're having a pity party and catering it yourself. Besides I'm wise but I haven't had my surgery yet, you've got to get mentally stable so you can mentor me! Your Buckeye friend ME

It kills a Wolverine to agree with a Buckeye, but Kakatlady speaks the truth! shake yourself and remind yourself why you had surgery in the first place. If you want to get there, you have to leave that junk alone! Some day you can have ONE reeses egg again, but not now. Do not hurt yourself after you did all the work to get to surgery!

  6. Hey all! I was sleeved on Jan 23, 2018. Yesterday was my one month surgiversary! Hubby took measurements for me a couple days prior to surgery and redid them last night to see how things have progressed beyond the scale. Woo hoo! We've got a good start going! Not sure why we went metric, but here's the results:

    2 cm off belly/waist

6 cm off hips - YASSS!!! Explains why pants are seriously baggy

    4 cm off bust

3 cm off neck - who knew I was carrying so much fat around my neck?

    2 cm off rt arm

    1 cm off right calf

    2 cm off right thigh

So thrilled with this! I can't wait to see what the numbers look like on Mar 23! My coats and jackets and clothes are getting big. It's still winter, so cold winds blowing up under loose jackets is becoming a problem! I did score a new fleece jacket for only $15 on a clearance sale today. It's way too small yet, but I will get there soon!
