    Any January 2018 Sleevers?

Haven't done that shopping yet. My NUT told us the only thing I need to have ready for surgery is a chewable multitamin. And I think the Flintstones multi actually fits the bill (would have to doublecheck my info for stats). I've looked at the Tespo as well, but am hoping to stick to things I can buy locally.

    Any January 2018 Sleevers?

Jan 23 here! Day before my wedding anniversary. Well, this is one year I won't celebrate with a mai tai!
  4. Wow. That is strength! Good for you! If you could make it through today, you can make it through the next several!
  5. Soon! Congrats! You're going to do great! How was Thanksgiving pre-op?
  6. Too bad this thread seems to have ended 3 years ago.... I'm in Castle Rock with a surgery date Jan 2018
  7. Thanks for this! I'd forgotten about this brand and wanted to try. Perfect! And I'll be travelling while still a month pre-op but want to be good. Ordering now as this is the perfect way to check out all the flavors
  8. The surgical coordinator called this morning while I was out for brunch to let me know I've been approved and will be having surgery on Jan 23! She apologized for calling on a Saturday. No problem! I had just ordered a mimosa so was ready to celebrate! Now to crack down again (after a foodie week) and get myself in good habits for surgery!

    Finally a surgery date! YAY!

LOL Thanks! It is far away but my surgeon is backed up. I was actually afraid it would be February. However, I will be able to enjoy a business trip to my former home and see friends, and holiday parties (within reason). And it'll be a new year, new me!
  10. My husband claims that once I have the surgery (finally have a date!) he's going to do nutrisystem for the first few weeks. He needs to lose some weight and figures that way I don't have to cook and I won't have to watch him eat good food. He figures nutrisystem food won't even be tempting we'll see!

    Hi, surgery soon.

Good luck! I grew up in Hudsonville MI. You're going to do great! Where are you having your surgery?

    Ring Size

My ring size changed as I gained weight, so I expect the reverse to happen. You could buy a CZ ring now and the real thing later?

100 miles in 100 days fitness challenge

6 miles this week. I had a couple lazy evenings. Need to step it up, but with a medical procedure this week, might be tough!

    Water, Water Everywhere...

According to my dietician, protein shakes count as part of your fluids. Definitely need to be supplemented with water, but at least they count!

    Surgery Now or Later? (Poll)

I wanted to have mine down before the holidays as it's just me and hubby this year but am currently waiting for my insurance approval. Surgery coordinator said the surgeons are booked up and with the holidays, it looks like the earliest I might be scheduled is after January 19. You may want to call the surgery coordinator and just ask a few questions. Might make the decision for you!
  16. Congratulations! I'm jealous!

    What is your Pre-OP Diet?

Mine is only 2 days before surgery and matches the full liquid diet for after surgery. So it'll probably be just 2 days of protein shakes.
  18. So glad you're back on track and schedule! During my last visit with my PCP she asked how I felt about my conversation with the surgeon and more specifically, was his staff friendly and responsive. She commented that surgeons don't deal with patients much while they're awake so their talking skills are not as good as other docs! I laughed, but it kind of makes sense. They're focussing on other skills!

    Fats !!!???

I just had my nutrition seminar and yes, good fats are those occurring in nature. Like others here, my program has us track protein and fluids, not fats, but we are encouraged to seek lower fat protein sources (so why hubby just order 10 pounds of fresh bratwurst - ugh - he's generally very supportive but doesn't think while watching football!). So lean deli meats and things like chicken and fish are desireable. Sausage and high fat pork like ribs would be less so. But we can have those occasionally - esp since we're only eating a few ounces.
  20. My surgeons office has been very responsive when I have questions and the surgery coordinator helped outline who I needed to see in order to fulfill my insurance requirements. I made all the appointments however, I personally think it's part of making us demonstrate the commitment required to do this, but that's just in my head and has never been said. That said, they did put in a referral for the psych visit, and the psych office called me to schedule. The surgical coordinator also came to the nutrition seminar and spoke personally to each and every one of us to see where we are in the process. Unfortunately, she also let us know that the surgeons are backed up going into the holidays so unfortunately, even if my insurance approval comes through quickly, my surgery likely won't be until late January. Argh! more waiting! She's taking care of all the insurance work now though, and will call only if she has problems or to tell me my pre-op and surgery dates.
