I LOVE olives. i esp love blue cheese stuffed olives. drop two in a dirty vodka martini. about 5 of those and i am good for the night.

ok you two...back to your corners. we need something more substantial to debate over. hehehe misunderstandings are not good debate topics. they fall apart quickly.

Where in america are boobs bad? Certainly not in my neck of the woods. bigger the better, and the skimper the bikini the better.

I agree completely! I am not sure why there was the attack out of no where to begin with. Can't we all just get along?
-
I think she is jsut saying that if she was the one running the board her emotions would have taken over, and those who disagreed with her would simply not be around anymore. hehehe i would prolly be the same way.

I do not know a single soul who has posted in this thread that wants to see the section shut down. we all use it way too much. Thanks for taking the time to go through the thread, Alex, and making changes as a comprimised solution.

Since this is in direct response to me, I guess i will do my best to respond so that you understand Susan. One, I have been here reading and keeping in touch with friends, I just haven't posted that much. Two, I have been posting for the last month or so, in the RnR section. A section, I might remind you, was started because of the huge feud that went on. Three, I was under the impression that only mods and Alex have the power to tell who and who can't post in any section on this board. Four, Rant and raves darling...its the nature of the section.

Woo HOO!! Supreme Court upholds Partial Birth Abortion Ban!!!!

I only believe in prayer in a private christian school, where I am sure of their beliefs and know what it is they will be leading my children through. And I do not feel that prayer in a private christian school is bad because those children who go to that school will practice that particular religion. in a private school you have a mix. i would not dare to push my religion onto any child, nor would i wish for that to be done to mine. And I am positive that a majority of christians feel that way. Remember....there are extremeists in every group. Don't let the actions and wishes of a few taint the rest of us. -
I didn't see Alex make a decision, unless it was something that was done behind the scenes, and we were not alerted to it. Not that we need to be, but when a public poll is shut down with no reason it draws questions. As to what we have seen Alex do, he has only come to the thread and stated that he is bringing on the ads to support the site, and that he does not wish to take donations from the members. This is not in regards to the poll or the questions being asked here.

thanks. its just like mine. and i am so happy she has it.

LOL rob's mom used to have this plant called yellow bells. they lined the driveway. when he was in trouble part of his punishment was to walk out and pick his own switch. he said it would sting, but it never drew blood or left a welt. she also used to tell him that if he did something wrong she would spank him in front of god and everybody. But he never felt that it was wrong, and still doesn't. because he knows that he was better off for it.

Are gas prices causing anyone to change their driving habits???
FunnyDuddies replied to areellady's topic in Rants & Raves
we have not changed much. we do more at home during the weekend. i do all of my business from my home office, and force everyone to come to me already. Rob commutes for 30 minutes to work and back, and if i need something from the store he stops by on the way home. most of the time all of my groceries are delivered. if i need to mail something they come to me. and on the weekends we used to go on long drives, but now with prices we do not go on as many. also, we have tons and tons to do with our backyard and landscaping so we do that a lot on our own during out time off. -
even though he has the ads, i am sure that every little bit counts. if you offer it to him i bet he would take a donation towards the running of the site.
-
ok that is just wrong. lol
-
hahahahaha lauren...you realize you just made my argument for the thread titles? hehehehe its something you do not want to see, and are forced to see because it is there, so you want it gone. plus you are afraid of how it might effect the newbs.
-
oh i am not in there. i could only wish to be as pretty as that wendy. (if that is what you meant.)
-
I totally understand the need for them, and my suggestions are more towards how to make the ads bring in more money so that you can get paid for the work you have done on the site. Like I have stated before, this board is owned by you, and you make the decisions on it. my suggestions are stemmed from the complaints brought up by other members, and newbies, and I took it a step further to discuss how this will effect your bottom line ultimately with the advertisers if the complaintants requests are heeded.

oh, and what are you basing that 85% number on? just the percentage of christians in the united states? -

FunnyDuddies replied to gadgetlady's topic in Rants & Raves
not completely. I am a christian, a baptist, and I do not believe there should be prayer in school. And I know a lot of people who are christians that believe that. in fact most of the people I know believe that. Personally, I do not want someone else leading my child in prayer that I am not around a lot and can trust. I would rather my child pray on their own, or with a trusted individual. and I vote that way as well. -
well that is a discussion all of its own. this discussion, or at least my point, has to do with the advertisements and how to draw in the higher prices for said advertisements by increasing member numbers by either drawing in more people, or not pushing them away. but the advertisments are the beginning to what you fear lauren. again, its all up to Alex. So we must wait and see where all of this new change leads.

but that is what this country is based on. majority rule. and yes, i want to live in that. when people who were not elected made the decisions for the rest of us, a group of people broke away and created the united states. i want to have a say in the way the rules that govern me are created and put into power. and that is all done by me voting. are you saying you do NOT want to have control over what your government does? -

hehehe we agree on one point at least. from that our personal moral questions get in the way. the best way to solve this is not found in a discussion thread on it, though it does open people up to questions on their stances. rather this is a fight, if you feel strongly about it, that should be taken to the voting booths. put the right people in office, and the laws will be changed to what you agree with. if you don't vote about it, sitting around complaining is a moot point. I do my part, and i respect everyone's opinion. If you want to see abortion made illegal, write to your state reps and vote early and often. get heard. that is the only way to make things really happen. -
I guess my question is how exactly this hurts to make things more neutral. and I am not using my own business model for my business example. I am using every successful business's model. make yourself more neutral, you draw more customers and you make more money. pigeon hole yourself and you cut out entire markets. it is a simple business practice. Nothing is being hidden when it is removed from the new post list or the top 5. it is still displayed on the front page of lbt. nothing is being closed off or shut away.

the personal interests of a few should not outweigh an individual's right to life. it should be that right to life comes first. and in most cases it does. but in the abortion ring, the inconvinience of the mother comes before the individual's right to life. it should be cut and dry. if the law recognizes that an in-utero human life is indeed living and worthy of protection enough to charge one person with murder when that life is snuffed out, then it should hold the same weight when that life is snuffed out in other circumstances. Its the reason it is against the law to assist with suicide. the dead person may have wanted to be dead, but it is not legal for one person to carry out that person's wishes and kill that person. it is still illegal to assist. in abortion, the result is even more traumatic, because the life being snuffed out does not have a say in it. and the person doing the speaking for this life is already biased to get rid of it.
