  1. My surgery was Aug. 24th and at my 2-week post-op visit, I had lost 14 lbs. I was so excited. Yesterday, I was 4 weeks post op and I've only lost 4 more lbs. (for a total of 18 lbs. since surgery). I had hoped to lose another 10 lbs at least by now! I'm getting in an avg of 900 calories per day and my surgeon says thatxs perfect since the greater part of my Protein is coming from real food rather than Protein Shakes and supplements. I have my 4-week post-op visit next week (which will be more like 5 weeks post-op) and I'm anxious about what my surgeon is going to say about my minimal weight loss. [emoji52]

I had surgery the day before you, and I lost 16 in the first week, and I was at 18 by the next day. When I went to my 1 week post-op, my surgeon said that was great, but it wouldn't come off as quick as that from now on. When I had seen my primary doctor for my 2 week post-op, I believe he said that it was too much in one week. Overall, I've lost about 26-27. I'd say it just depends on your body and how it is adjusting. It will get better.

  2. My surgeon instructed his patients to do 30cc's of Milk of Magnesia every 8 hours until you have a bowel movement. He suggests this if there is no bowel movement for 4 days. I'm day 16 post-op, and still having issues, and this works like a charm after only taking it once. I'm going to include Benefiber or something as well, as suggested by my team, to increase the bulk.

  3. Maybe its just me but adding ice to one of the shakes definitely makes it easier to handle! It feels like a treat almost. I make all 3 shakes for the day in morning and by time I get to third one its sludgy lol so i add splash of milk and ice and it is pretty tasty just felt like sharing [emoji4].

Pre-Op: I threw a Premier Protein in the freezer for a bit until it became slushy. It was pretty much the best thing ever during the liver shrinking diet.

6 days Post-Op: I'm fairly nervous about it. I may wait until I get the okay for puree's.

  4. Our costco carries caramel in the store. Yum! Also $5 off right now.

They also sell all flavors online at Costco, with $2.99 shipping.

Yes, they are, until the 8/27! [emoji16] My Costco unfortunately didn't have it. They only had chocolate, Vanilla, and Banana available, and they were going pretty quick due to the $5 off. I'll have to get the Caramel at Walmart in the 4 packs with my $2 off coupons. [emoji23]

  5. Is this for the clear liquid diet or the full liquid diet? I just got my gastric sleeve surgery yesterday. I need some help with what I can drink as for as Protein on the clear liquid diet. Please help.

Congratulations! Based off of my dietary guidelines, I'm allowed to have pre-made Protein Shakes or Protein Powder during my clear liquid diet, 2 days before surgery. Since you're post-op, that should be okay. Other than the protein shakes, I am unsure. I would ask your surgeon's office just to be sure.

I'm prepping for my Liver Shrinking Diet that begins on the 9th (All liquids + 1 light meal of chicken, beef, or fish and veggies).

  6. I stick to chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla and put in shots of sugar free Syrup or instant coffee powder when I want to change things up. I personally wasn't into the caramel, but it's to be expected considering I'm not a huge fan of caramel drinks in the first place. You can buy bulk packs of the ready to drink stuff on Jet.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try those out!
    I love Jet.

  7. Banana and Strawbery are my favorites! I do also like vanilla and hated chocolate pre-op, love it post-op.

Still yet to try Caramel but saw Walmart has it available in 5 packs.

I may try strawberry along with Caramel. Walmart does have them! I got sample boxes from the dietitian at the surgery center and they both came with $2 off coupons for the 4 packs, so that is a great chance to try more flavors!
