  1. Just venting...

I really miss enjoying food.  I know it's a hurdle I'll have to get over but since this is still so new... its a struggle.  I don't even mean crazy unhealthy food... I mean ANY food.  I can't eat enough to even feel satisfied (the desire, not the hunger).  I just feel full.  All of the enjoyment is gone (which I realize is a good thing.., but it's miserable too).  At the same time, I feel incredibly guilty about eating anything.  Even at meal times, even on plan.  I just feel guilty for being hungry... that doesn't seem right.  Am I the only one who feels/felt this way?

You're only a month out. In a couple more months you'll be eating a bit more and a wider variety and should be enjoying the process more.

As for the guilt.. that is a symptom if having the wrong mindset/focus. You are still in the "diet" mentality, where you have to minimize your consumption to lose weight.

At least for the first 6 months postop, you get to lose weight WITHOUT this mindset. You get the freedom of HAVING to eat ENOUGH to meet your goals.

This is an important breakthrough for most of us. To REALLY understand that food isn't an enemy! Instead, it is a necessary fuel that we require just the right amount of to function properly.

We get a precious few months to be required to eat as much as we can to meet our goals. This is something most of us have never experienced before!

It's important that we're specifically eating only to meet goals, because that is what puts our minds in the right place. Food isn't SUPPOSED to be comfort or sport.. you're not snuggling or playing with gasoline are you?

Sure, it's fine to ENJOY food, but liking it doesn't mean you'll automatically eat more than required. Overeating is caused by other things (if I had the exact answer to what those "other things" are... I'd be a very wealthy person ;) ).
