  1. 1/3 cup egg beaters, 1 no fat no carb mozzarella stick and 1 slice fat free no carb ham whipped together equals one of the best dinners I've had in a while!!!
  2. Thankfully I have a humidifier with my machine so I upped it a little which has helped.
  3. I too have apnea and the full mask does make some awful dry mouth.... it literally hurts to move my tongue around in the morning
  4. I did two shakes a day and broth and sugar free Jello for 16 days before surgery and lost 19 lbs. The hospital I had it done at required my BMI to be below 60 and at 356 lbs (I'm only 5'3") so I needed to lose about 15lbs Hard, but not impossible. Have faith in yourself. You can do it!!! Check in from time to time ??????
  5. It will be better! As hard as it may be try to get up and walk a little, it will help with the gas! I couldn't keep the protein down in the hosp the Isopure was awful and it came right back up. I did ok with broth. (Sleeved on 8/15) Hang in there. Wishing you the best!
  6. I was sleeved on 8/15 and I'm down about 40lbs was able to walk a mile today which is a huge deal because due to my high weight (I started at 356 preop) and have had such awful back pain for years that I've been basically sedentary. Doing a lot of scrambled egg beaters with a fat free mozzarella stick blended in it. Very low fat, no cal and a little protein i like the premier protein shakes so I don't mind 1 a day but I'm not getting the water in. Really have to work on that!
  7. I agree, the thought of puréeing everything does not appeal to me. My husband insisted on trying to help me by pureeing some lean center cuts from a steak he grilled for him and the kids the other night and I stood watching it blend and was all set. I just couldn't. I'm holding fast to scrambled egg beaters I add a fat free cheese stick to and chew beyond belief.
  8. It's interesting how each surgeon is different. I was sleeved on 8/15 and was allowed to start purees and soft foods (scrambled eggs, cream of wheat) last Tuesday. Egg beaters with some fat free mozzarella stick has been my go to meal LOL Still struggling to get my liquids in as well as my water goal, but I feel pretty good! good luck!
  9. So I'm 16 days post op and onto puréed foods. Not feeling like I'm starving and believe me there's cravings for some of my "old favorites" but I've avoided them. i usually have a protein shake for bkfst, yesterday had some blended homemade cream of chicken soup for lunch and 1/3 cup egg beaters with about half a fat free cheese stick mixed in for dinner. That's it. Only about 35 oz water though so not starving but don't feel like I'm losing like I thought I would (since preop diet down bout 34 lbs which is awesome though) just don't want to do this wrong.....
  10. My dr said no sugar cereal is ok... let it sit in the milk to soften and chew chew chew!!!!
  11. My surgeon made it seem like as long as it was relatively smooth or chewed into oblivion it should be ok. ??
  12. Haha sounds good!!! Good luck!!!
  13. Im actually not taking any meds except for the pantoprazole which I guess is the anti ulcer med. I know I'm not getting in enough water but I'm really trying I think. anyone taking the bariatric fusion chewable vitamin? I just started them yesterday. I have samples from my dr and the hospital while I wait for a shipment. Are they 4 chewables a day???
  14. When I started full liquids creamy soups were totally ok. Just be careful if lumps. My sister made me a potato soup (a treat cause of the carbs) and I just whipped it through the blender and had that for a few meals. It was ok by my dr. ?
  15. I'm taking a stool softener and milk of magnesia here and there... pretty uncomfortable due to it though
  16. I took 1/3 cup egg beaters and put in a small end piece of a fat free cheese stick which melted then mixed fully in had that for dinner tonight. ? Weight loss seems a little slow compared to others, about 34 lbs since I started my pre op diet on 7/29 but I'm feeling good (except for some constipation) and realize I didn't put the weight on in a few months so it will take time to take off. ??
  17. Is it unreasonable that at 15 days post op (started puréed yesterday) that if I eat slow (45 min or so) I can get in about 1/3 cup of egg beaters? i see people posting about managing one or two spoonfuls of food but if I go nice and slow, I can handle more than that???? i don't want to do this wrong.
  18. 15 days post op today. Started school ( l teach middle school) doin ok. Struggling with getting enough water in still. Moved onto purees last night with some egg beaters and did ok. Still having issues with constipation which is the cause of most of my discomfort I believe. Afraid to "strain" too much ?
  19. Had surgery on 8/15, they asked me a few times in the hospital if I had a headache. Perhaps aside effect of the anesthesia?? good luck to you!!!
  20. Walking really helped me with the gas. It was almost a non issue. I had the same little measuring cups. They wanted me to do 15ml every 15 min I couldn't stomach the seeet protein drink they had for me at the hospital or this protein jello type thing. I vomited it twice so I stuck to water and broth. Good luck!!!!!
  21. I'm a little annoyed... I didn't tell a lot of people I was having my surgery. Insurance wouldn't cover it and I was afraid if something happened financially (total cost was $22,800) I'd have to tell everyone I wasn't having it... anyway, I feel like people are expecting me to lose 100lbs within a few weeks. I can tell when they look at me. I'm 11 days post op.... people need to back off and give me time to adapt to this new life!!!
  22. Not sure LOL... did clear liquids in the hospital (3 days) then he started me on stage 2 when I got home. Saw him Wed (9 days post op) and he said stage 3 started 2 weeks after surgery which will be 8/29 im feeling good. Need to watch the sodium and carb count in some soups though!!!
  23. Hi there... got my sleeve on 8/15... pain was manageable, was walking without hours of the surgery. Will start stage 3 foods Tuesday only issue I'm having is getting the water in and definitely having some constipation issues. Good luck with your surgery! ???
  24. Best of luck!! I got my sleeve 10 days ago!!!
  25. I agree.... one day at a time... we'll all have to adjust to new lifestyles and a new "us." But I know this new me will be healthier and active and able to enjoy life more! Already stopped two of my daily meds and I'm only 10 days post op! good luck!!!! ?
