  1. Congratulations and good luck on your journey! i was sleeved 8/15 and did the liquid pre op diet for 2 weeks prior. Down 32 lbs in a little over 3 weeks. Not looking for it to come off super fast but it is motivating to see the scale begin to go down!!! ?
  2. Congratulations! Take it easy!
  3. 8/15 sleeved. Doing ok. Continuing with protein shakes, yogurt and soups. Realized some cream soups are high in sodium and carb so trying to be more aware of them. Been sleeping on loveseat recliner since I came home because I am a side/stomach sleeper and though I wasn't restricted, prefer sleeping on an angle right now. Do you like yogurt? Once I came home my dr let me introduce yogurt and thicker soups. Best of luck to everyone! ???
  4. So exciting! I had surgery 8/15! Good luck to all! Look forward to reading updates!! ??
  5. I had my favorite chicken parm over spaghetti the night before I started my preop diet. It's been one week since surgery and I miss chewing things. I look forward to reintroducing more normal foods back into my diet instead of just liquids.
  6. Thank you James for the valuable information.
  7. I just posted a similar post. Had surgery one week ago today and find it challenging to get more than about 30-40oz of water in a day. Not sure what my problem is..... other than that I'm feeling good.
  8. Good luck!!! We do it because we're worth it! Keep updates coming! ??
  9. The cream of chicken soup and cream of potato soup went down fine. About 10-15 small spoonfuls and i think I'm done. Will cap the night with a protein shake as I'm only at about 32g for the day. Like someone mentioned above, I do miss "chewing" something. I crave something like a pretzel rod LOL. Oh well..... one day at a time friends. We can do this! ❤️
  10. I'm 4 days post op. So excited for you. I'm doing better than i thought. Pain is manageable, eating small amounts of liquids, sipping on water though I know it's still not enough. Still have some gas pain so I'm walking around the house inside and out. Best of luck to you! Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid if something feels off. It may be totally normal, so ask!!! keep uodating!
  11. I'm 4 days post op today and my surgeon practices at 2 hospitals. Only one hospital required my BMI to be below 60. I was private pay since my insurance didn't have the benefit so it was much easier to plan. My BMI was just over 62 so I did the preop diet for 17 days and lost 28 lbs and got my BMI to 58 Best of luck on this journey! It's an exciting one!
  12. Today is my 4th day post op. Feeling ok. Walking around a bit and only managing some yogurt or fat free sugar free pudding. Will try a no fat cream soup today. Still get sharp pains once in a while which I attribute to the gas. Tired and napping here and there, but definitely have some energy. Incisions are a little sore but not problematic. I do struggle with getting enough water. Am trying, but not hitting 64oz a day. Need to work on that Good luck to everyone ??
  13. I'm new to this forum and getting my sleeve surgery Tuesday 8/15 i thank you for being so honest. I read your post and can relate to what you're saying. Congratulations on the tremendous success you've had thus far on your journey. ??
  14. Congratulations on such success!! My surgery is Tuesday 8/15. I'm so excited yet nervous!
  15. Mine is Tuesday 8/15 wishing you all the best for yours!!!

100% understand your position. I was in the same boat. Have great insurance through Anthem but bariatric is excluded. Tried for 3 yrs to get it to cover some/all of it to no avail. Try care credit, prosper, the hospital may have a financial assistance program. I was blessed and able to borrow the money from my parents but please don't give up. Wishing you all the best!
  17. Thank you! Can't believe it's actually here. Fought 3 years to try to get insurance to cover it but to no avail so I had to go private pay.
  18. My surgery is Tuesday 8/15 getting nervous but excited!! Struggling with getting 64 oz of water a day but doing ok with the shakes and broth. ??
  19. It was a challenge for me too, but I just keep reminding myself that nothing can possibly taste as good as I'll feel when I start losing weight. I also refuse to let myself mess up asy insurance won't cover it and in private pay. So I can't let my mom and dad down who have invested $23,000 for my health! ?
  20. I have found the Premier chocolate to not be horrible. I do the11oz ones which have 30g of protein. Haven't tried, but I've heard bariatric advantage isn't awful either. Good luck everyone!
