  1. Just got really bad news from my doctor’s visit today about the pain I’m experiencing. I just want to cry. He said it most likely my gallbladder and will need surgery again to remove it. I’m so upset. I’m scared, frustrated and really regretting this whole thing. From all the research I’ve done, never knew my gallbladder would be affected with weight loss and he did not mention it. WTF!
    Feeling so down

This just happened to me, I was 3 wks out from surgery and I had to have my gallbladder removed. It is frustrating I know but you will get through this. Keep your head up!

    CW: 215.6lbs
    Loss: (-6.8lbs) 2weeks post-op
Note: I'm doing great. Still having Constipation issues. Trying to get the train schedule back on-track and running smoothly and on time with great consistency! Bahahahahahahahaaha!!! Right now, Number 9 track has a train blocking the tunnel so schedules are backed up and iffy! Pray for me. Dear God in heaven, pray! [emoji6]

  3. Has anyone had high liver enzymes after surgery? I’m 2 months out 1-3-18 I think and my dr said my liver enzymes are high. Why would that be?

I'm having that exact problem right now! Mine are extremely high. I had my gallbladder taken out Friday and the Doctor is going to redo my labs on the 13th. Please keep us updated on what you find out and I will as well.

Unfortunately I had a hiccup and as soon as I had my surgery I started having problems with my gallbladder and had to have it removed 3 weeks after my wls surgery! Recovering nicely now I'm having some trouble with my liver enzymes... but I'm keeping my head up and keeping on!!! oh but the amazing thing I've lost 34 lbs since I started all this and that is amazing!!!

  5. I am sorry to hear and that's unpleasant but anything can happen with this type of surgery. It is serious elective surgery and that is why you have to jump through so many hoops just to get to the operating room. It was a good thing that you did not delay in reporting this pain. When I lost weight the first time, through diet and exercise, my gall bladder nearly killed me. I had no pain or discomfort whatsoever. All of a sudden one day I was just getting progressively sicker and sicker. I thought I was coming down with the flu until one of my college roommates found me semi-conscious and I was rushed to the hospital. I had emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder. I remember the ultrasound tech yanked the emergency cord on the side of the wall when she saw the size of the gall bladder. Scary stuff. This was back in February of 2002. Surgeon told me I am lucky to be alive because if this had happened when I was at my heaviest weight, he might not have been able to get to the gall bladder in time to safely remove it. I was in the hospital of 2 weeks because my gall bladder had become infected and there was concern of an infection spread.
I am glad I told my doctor what was going on. I am so sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you are alright now!!! [emoji16]

  6. Well this is terrible news for you :-(
Did they scan you GB before surgery? I ask because I've read a few posts from people who got their GB out with their bariatric surgery. And because I'm worried about my GB :-)

Actually they did back in August 2017 when I started this whole process and it was ok at the time! It started right after surgery, At first I thought It was part of the healing but it just got worse and at my 2 week post op appointment, he sent me for an ultrasound. I kinda wish it would get here already, This pain is no joke!!! I hope yours goes uneventful and yours is fine!!!

  7. I am so very sorry to hear this. I had my gallbladder out years ago. The constant severe pain sounds like you are having an attack. I am shocked that they are waiting two weeks to remove it. Last thing you need is for it to burst.
Maybe they know from the ultrasound it will be ok for two weeks but very weird to me. I had ultrasound on a Thursday right after severe attack. Scheduled surgery for the following Wednesday and I didn't make it. Ended up in the ER and had emergency surgery.
So, if the pain gets to be intolerable, the ER is an option. I really feel for you being in that kind of pain. Nothing else like it.

Thank you, I will keep the ER in mind!!!
