  1. I just finished the puréed stage. I ate yogurt and puréed canned fruit, protein shakes, roasted butternut squash to make a soup, broths but make sure they are bone broth a lot more flavor, no sugar puddings and jello.
  2. I am three weeks post op and having a hard time with recovering after getting pneumonia 2 days after surgery. I am so tired all the time I have been trying to make myself get up get dressed and do the grocery shopping house chores it's just so hard. I leave the house for two hours get home and sleep three hours. Not sure if it's the pneumonia that has me so tired or the surgery ? I drink my water I have protein shakes and today I started yogurt and puréed fruit. I'm just venting because I hate being so tired. I do have a follow up with the Dr Wednesday the 6th.
  3. I am 10 days out. It's very hard the shakes get very boring. But hang in there the pay off is big I lost 23 pounds so far. I sip water all day I set my water bottles on the counter so I don't have to worry about counting home much I need to drink, by bed time I have all my water finished it helps a lot to drink. My down side right now is i developed pneumonia two days after surgery, so I'm on an antibiotic. Good luck write on these posts we are here for support.

  6. It's been 4 days and I still can't get the gas to absorb I walk and stretch its in my left lung and very painful, last night I barely could get out of bed, is there something I'm not doing right ? Help sleepless in Colorado.
  7. I was sleeved 8-15 and have not been able to get much sleep sure hope that changes. I have been sitting up and trying to sleep when I can. Good luck I have same pin and nervous to sleep laying flat also.
  8. Well just drank down the nasty clean out stuff staying pretty close to the bathroom. Really made me feel nauseous. How did most of you do after the surgery? Did you feel nauseous ? How many days did you stay in the hospital? I was informed I will be staying one day. It's a military hospital not sure what to expect from them just feeling a little nervous
  9. Well had my physical today and passed. I am healthy just over weight by 75 pounds. I am so nervous, I am having the sleeve and was concerned about going under because my BP runs low 100/46 today, that is a normal for me or it runs 90/42, no dr has said anything about it being low so guess I'm good. My dr wanted me to have the sleeve before I have health issues, I think it's a good idea, I have tried dieting, weight watchers, the military diet and I couldn't get the weight to come off, always so discouraging. Breathes deeply so nervous.
  10. Glad to hear you are better. Did you have the sleeve or bypass? I am scheduled for the sleeve in 1.5 weeks. I am so nervous
  11. Day two trying hard to stay with the protein diet....a shake in the morning and one at lunch. Hope it gets easier. Question can I add fruit to the shakes? Not a fan of the vanilla what are your favorite flavors? Didn't know the protein powders were so expensive, but all this will be so worth it.
  12. Thanks I will look for the bars. I use sunflower butter haven't tried flax seeds.
  13. So as I read comments seems like it all about protein, are the premade protein shakes lactose free? And what other protein options are out there? I am allergic to nuts, and all preservatives in foods.
  14. As I have been reading all comments looks like all will go smoothly with traveling. Good luck on your surgery.
  15. Thanks, we are traveling by vehicle, I will take what I can in a cooler and will definitely drink water.
  16. I will have the sleeve surgery Aug 15, And we have a trip planned for Sept 28 that will be 6 weeks after surgery has any one traveled 6 weeks after surgery ? How did it work for you ? How did you eat out at restaurants ? Kids meals?
  17. I am starting a high protein diet wnd of this week. Every surgeon must have different diets. Protein shake twice a day and dinner is protein veggies and a fruit. How do you keep from getting hungry on the liquid diet? No solid foods?
  18. Well as the time get closer the more I get nervous. How do you deal with the pressure? I was so excited but now I'm just really nervous. I have all the support from family some friends are against this but it's my life and I want it back. Wish me luck. Thanks.
