    Eating puree

Yes definitely. I think I'm just very lucky to be able to tolerate it. I water down my soups so they are easier for my new stomach because I don't want to put to much strain on it. I know that the broths aren't for weight loss, but wow I'd be going crazy on just that! Good for habit forming though I can imagine Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm also down about 8 pounds since surgery so seems okay to me to have those foods? Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Eating puree

Yeah, soon as I woke up on day 2 I was given yoghurt, custard and creamy soups. Ive had no problem and everyone else who had surgery there also are fine having all that. Not sure why so manly people are on broth for so long. Must be torture! I'm also allowed wheetbix and scrambled eggs already. I'm 7 days post op and feel fine. No nausea, no pain, no gas, never threw up, hydrated.... Seems too good to be true?? My incisions are a little itchy and I get tired if I walk around too much, but other than that, all good [emoji14] Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Eating puree

I allowed all purees straight away. That includes meat pureed. I just prefer my vetagbles and not a big meat eater. I have found yoghurt to be very filling though and can't get much of that in. Maybe about 80g. I guess it's not bad to be basically drinking soup. Gets in nutrients and my water [emoji14] Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Vomiting - Sleeve yesterday

Also I think it's normal. People who had the surgery the same day as me were throwing up a lot the first day or two. Hope you feel better soon! Try not to move around too much. I only ever felt the need to be sick when I moved too quickly. Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Vomiting - Sleeve yesterday

Aren't you in hospital still? I was in for four days after surgery and I never even threw up!! Although I did come very close but it was actually the pain meds making me sick. Could that be a problem? It sounds like you're throwing up stomach bile. Have they given you an anti reflux medication? Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sleep positions

I've been sleeping on my side since day 2 post op. Surgeon said it was fine and it relieved a lot of pain for me. Now I'm 6 days post op and sleep however. If you shouldn't be lying a certain way your body will let you know. If you can lay on your side and it doesn't hurt then you're fine Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I found walking and drinking at the same time worked really well. So walk for 5 mins while holding your bottle. It goes down a lot easier and you don't get side tracked and forgot to drink! Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I have a suspected infection from the cannula. Has anyone else experienced this? Please tell me it's not likely staph.. So worried I'm on antibiotics for it now Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

  12. I don't have diabetes but when I went through admissions they did my blood sugar at it was 5.1 I have no idea what that means? All the nurses kept asking if i had diabetes when they saw that they took the reading and were confused why my doctor wanted it? Making me scared that my blood work I did for him showed something and they haven't told me? Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Diabetic? Surgery today..

Thanks guys! I saw my doctor and he didn't mention anything and I forgot to ask. Assuming it's all good. Honestly think he lost my bloods to be honest. [emoji14] Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. So I'm 2 days post op and feeling much much much better! In my hospital in Australia we go straight from operation to puree so I'm already on custard and puree soups and yoghurt. Still not sure when I'm full though so just going slow. Everything feels a little odd and it's hard to tell the different between hunger and reflux and needing to burp.. Very weird feeling Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I'm not having any trouble taking liquid and I'm 22 hours post op. How do I know when to stop?.... I'm not hungry or full or anything.. Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I dont feel anything. Just pain 24/7 in that area so I cant tell if I'm full or hungry or have reflux [emoji14] I suppose I'll get use to it Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I had my surgery at 10am. It's now 1am next day and I'm in pain and can't sleep and keep having to spit out spit to stop myself throwing up. Please let me know I'm not the only one who's been like this and it got better :( Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Nauseous and pain

Thank you so much for replying. I'm not allowed to drink the first day. I've had nausea meds but every time I move I start needing to throw up. Have a puke bag full of spit.its so bad and I can't sleep. Have to pick between sick or pain. I wonder if changing my pain medication helps. I hope I can sleep soon Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app

  20. I saw my doctor 4 weeks ago for the first time and 2 weeks later started my preop diet (self funded). My visit was only about 15mins long. I didn't have to see a psych or have any tests other than a blood test. My dietitian was over the phone for about 15mins. I feel like I've been thrown into the deep end and haven't had time to mentally prepare. I wish I'd started my preop diet earlier or had more time to wrap my head around not being able to eat the way I have all my life. I know it's bad but I've slipped up a few times. Nothing terrible, just things like a sandwich instead of a shake. I don't really understand why I did it... But now I'm worried I won't have lost enough. Ive been good the last week but nervous because surgery is in less than 48 hours. What are the amounts people lost on their 2 weeks preop? My BMI is 40. Also, I'm seeing a psychiatrist now and will be discussing my overeating problems, so please don't lecture or say I'm not serious about surgery because I am. Swallowing pills post op

I only have slow release so they can't be crushed. I was told I'm fine to take morning of surgery and I'll let you all know how it is after surgery. Worried my slow release won't have enough time in my system? But I have no idea how they work. I however got a smaller dose prescription to take in case I have mild withdrawlas from them passing to quick Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. Just wondering how people are managing post op with their medication. I take 3 tablets a day that are slow release so they can't be crushed. Worried it will take forever to get all three down haha
  23. I'm going to make an assumption here, and assume that most people on this forum are like me. Food makes me happy. Binging is amazing. My entire life revolves around food. When I go out, I think about the food near me. Any alone time I have is for binging. It's the one thing that truly excites me and I live for it. But it's also killing me. So now, with my surgery on the 18th, I'm trying to mentally picture myself being just as forfilled by something else in life, but I can't. Surely there is something out there that can make me just as excited and happy as food? I don't think a career will forfill that void. Maybe hiking? Being able to do more? I still think I'd get bored. I'm hoping that one day when I have children that will do the trick. I'm hoping that some people who are post op can please give me some things to look forward to that actually make them truly happy. Something that makes you want to get up in the morning

    Finding Happiness

I've started seeing a psychiatrist so I'll definitely be getting the mental help. I also have adhd and I think food really helped me with preoccupying my mind when I was completely underestimulated by the world. Food for me is my high and the only thing that truly entertains me. I'm not sure if they makes sense? It's like I can't concentrate on anything, but if I'm eating then I can concentrate. I've been overweight since I was about 6, so it will be a long process to fully recover, but definitely hoping my sleeve will help. I've broken it once before and dropped a lot of weight by myself and found happiness mainly in feeling hot as f**k and being able to enjoy more things in life. I'm just having a hard time remembering how I felt, so it seems impossible to get back to... However, the preop diet is helping and I'm already feeling less of a need to eat, which is great (: Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. I hope this is true. I'm sick of people judging me because I'm hungry all the time. I actually get very sick when I'm hungry to the point of gaging and it causes me to start sneezing. It basically feels like car sickness and the sneezing is similar to sun sneezing (Google). I'm so tired of feeling sick on this diet. Surgery is tomorrow so hopefully they don't care about how much I've lost. I'm in Australia and I don't think they're as strict... Hopefully (: Sent from my LG-H850 using BariatricPal mobile app
