Brand new Bandster here, banded April 2! Just wanted to say hello :-)

Tomorrow is the big day! I feel like I've been getting ready for this day for so long and its finally here, its hard to believe. I'm strangely calm considering. Unfortunately I've gotten my monthly friend at the worst possible time and I think my focus is on the pain I'm in (can't take any ibuprofen--the ONLY thing that works for me) and I can't really focus on being nervous. I'm also ravenously hungry, having only eaten jello, apple juice, and a vitamin water so far today. Yay for pre-op clear liquid diet. I don't even like jello, haha. Anyways, I'm very excited and can't wait for tomorrow!

I'm having my surgery at Highland Hospital in Rochester! Its tomorrow morning! I'm very excited. Can't wait to share how everything went with all of my online friends!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself! I'm 27 years old from Upstate NY. In April of last year a new friend introduced me to wls. Of course, I knew about it, I'd heard all about gastric bypass. And it scared the crap out of me so I never looked into it. At my highest weight I was 342 lbs (after quitting smoking) and was definitely a candidate but I didn't want to have my plumbing messed with. He told me about lapband...i'd never heard of it before. I knew of the old banding process but people were having those revised all of the time. So I looked into lapband and did as much research as I could over the coming months. I called a nearby hospital and got signed up for the informational seminar...and thus began my journey. Just about a year down the road I am 20 lbs lighter and 5 days away from being banded (yikes!) and so excited (and nervous) to have the procedure done. I know after all of the research I've done that this is what I want and this will help me to be successful at my weight loss attempts! I'm very glad I found this site to share stories with other bandsters.

Hi...new here to the boards, very happy I found this place. I am 6 days pre-op and I have also been pretty nervous about getting put out. I am 27 years old, never had any surgeries or anesthesia...so needless to say I'm just a little nervous. I keep calling up a friend with frenzied last minute questions and she just laughs at me. Basically what it comes down to is, it'll be what it'll be and stressing about it ahead of time will do nothing more but make me more anxious. When I feel anxious I need to practice deep breathing. It helps. Just wanted to add my two cents and say hello to everyone with my first post here!
