I seem to have that problem too. I had my surgery 8/14/17 and I have a hard time making dinner for my husband and me. I start out thinking something would be good, but by the time I am done making it, I usually can’t eat it! My husband eats and I have a Protein Drink.

Week 4. Stomach feels nauseous most days. I have lost 5 pounds only. I slime vomit daily. Appointment with dietician tomorrow. Doctor sending me to ENT to check out my esophagus. I go back to work in 2 weeks. Hope this vomiting stops by then.
I am now 10 weeks post sleeve surgery. Up until 2 weeks ago, I was nauseous every day! Never threw up, but it was always right there. My surgeon put me back on a total liquid diet. I was on that for almost 3 weeks. Then I called my NUT and she said, no, you have to get some food in your stomach! She said to eat 2 or 3 triscuts. Somehow, once I got back on a bit of solid food, I did much better. Now I have only had that awful feeling once or twice in the past 2 weeks. Most days now are pretty good! Hope you are feeling better soon. I know it seems like it will never end, but it will. [emoji1]

So many questions!!! Can you have a glass of wine once in a while? How do you do when you are in a large group and everyone is eating everything? Have you gained any of your weight? I am 2 months post op and I am just starting to feel “normal” again. I am so proud of the 58 lbs I have lost, but it has been a miserable 2 months - nauseous for most of it and very constipated. The last 3 or 4 days have been the best, feeling pretty good. Would love to hear your story. Judee

I had a hiatal hernia repaired with the sleeve surgery. I wasn’t even aware I had one! I was sore for the first 2 days after surgery, but that was it. Not a big deal, and I hope it will be the same for you! Good luck

Congrats! You look wonderful. I am only 7 weeks post op and I am nauseous all the time. It doesn't matter if I eat or drink or don't eat or drink. The only time a feel good is when I am laying down. Started on soft food a few weeks ago, but now I am back on just liquids. The doctor thought that might help. So far, 2 weeks and there is no difference between food and liquid diet. Needless to say, I am mighty upset about this and don't know what to do now. Just wanted to let you know that I had my gall bladder out 2 years ago and a hernia out last year. Neither of these has helped me with the nausea, but maybe you'll be luckier than I have been. Wish you the best.

You know, it's kinda funny, but I've had friends lose 30 or 40 lbs and my thinking was "well, maybe they really weren't as heavy as I thought they were." Now that I am 7 weeks post op and have lost about 40 lbs, I don't think people notice it either.
You are heading in the right direction, keep it up!

I ate something too fast this weekend and felt like I was going to die. I feel that I have lost more but my husband (who I made him do this) is not permitted to let me near the scale unless its Tuesday.
Other that that, I feel great! I have some of my energy back and then a some.
Question, how do you know you have overeaten? Is it kind of like when you are watching the TV and have a bag of chips and the next thing you know its gone? How long after you overate did the hurtful feeling come?
Does your stomach hurt or do you feel nauseous? I am always feeling nauseous, whether I am eating or drinking. Could I be eating too much? I don't think I am, cause I never hurt in my stomach, just nauseous.

I had my surgery 8/12 and I am 73. I am doing okay now, but had a few rough weeks, mostly with nausea. I saw my NUT yesterday and told her I was having a hard time getting all the liquid in, I mostly get about 40 to 50 ounces in a day. She said that if you are drinking the Protein Shakes, that includes as your liquid too. I never thought about that! I am still kinda weak, but I was pretty sedate before my surgery, so I think I just have to try and gradually get my strength back. I have lost 28 lbs since my surgery. Yes!!!

I only purchased 2 of these and was only able to eat 1/2 at a time so I used it as one of my Snacks for the day. Honestly I don't count carbs since I have given up all breads, Pasta, and rice.

Ugh I am so sorry. I really struggled with nausea for about 4-5 months. No meds worked. It will get better. I often was shocked that I was still upright as little as I ate and drank!
How are you doing now? I am almost 4 weeks post surgery and the nausea is killing me! Are you better now? I can't figure out if it is from the 'food" or the Water. Everything makes me feel nauseous. So exhausting.

I had the sleeve done at 7/19 I'm 65 all's going fine so far hope everything is well with you take care
`Hi, I am 73 and had the sleeve done Aug. 12. I am doing okay, but I still am very weak. I fold the laundry and I have to sit for a few minutes. I was not very active before my surgery, but this is silly. I wonder if it is my age or just me? I feel hungry a lot, and never feel full. I always stop eating as soon as my stomach just feel different. How are you doing? -
Thank you for the great reminders!

Boy, I'm with you! I am 15 days post surgery and I have never felt full. Twice in the last 3 days I have thrown up (not much) but I never had a full or even almost close to full feeling. I don't know if I drank my tea and Water too fast, but it came on really quick and I felt better within minutes. Today I have really tried to slow down on my drinking. I'll see if that works

I totally get longing for weight loss to be faster. I'm a slow loser so at 6 months post op I'm down 47 pounds. The first 30 came off the first 6 weeks. As long as the scale is going in the right direction I feel good about it. I haven't gained at all but I have had numerous and lengthy stalls.
I try to get 60-100g of Protein and 25-50 carbs a day. I keep most days at 25 carbs but a couple days I may go over so I gave myself a range. I still drink one Protein Shake a day because I have great restriction and can not eat much.
Sample meal:
Breakfast
One egg
1 piece whole grain toast - I grind my wheat and make my bread to it's pretty clean and really my only major carb for the day.
sometimes a small piece of fruit or berries
coffee (Instead of creamer I use caramel flavored Premier Protein shake)
Snack
Love me a tablespoon of Almond Butter right from the jar or Cheesestick wrapped in ham
Lunch
Salmon salad on a lettuce leaf (I live in Alaska so this is abundant) but canned from the store would work great too.
or
Grilled chicken breast cut in strips with a bit of ceasar dressing rolled up in a lettuce leaf
Snack
Protein shake, handful of almonds, or Pork rinds with hummus (gross I know but I love it!!)
Dinner
I cook for my family and eat a small portion of whatever they are having except I will serve myself by picking around major carbs. So meat, veggie and starch... (Example: Pork Chop, Green Beans and Rice). I'll eat the pork chop and green beans but skip on the rice
Evening snack
If I've gotten all my protein I'll have three tablespoons of ice cream, if not, I'll have a greek yogurt
Thanks for sharing your meal. I am 2 weeks post op and can't believe that someday i will be eating like this. Judee

Yes.. I survived the first month!! I choose not to buy a scale.. But great news I'm down 1pant size!! Love it.. We had some family birthdays and eating socially was not so bad.. I even went to a restaurant, I found getting the take out container first was a huge help.. I also started watch Dr. V, all I can say I wow the info has been great. So for me I'm just doing my daily walking the dog and putting the gym membership on hold.. SO HAPPY WITH MY DECISION!![emoji173]️[emoji1365]
What are you eating when you go out to eat?

Wow, I hope you are wrong about the age thing! I just had mine 10 days ago and I certainly expect to lose more than 25 lbs in 3 years. What do your dr. and nutritionist say?
-
I am 8 days post op and I love hearing about the variety of food you are eating and getting full! Just being on the liquid diet does not fill me up at all. I am not hungry, but certainly not full!
-
Thanks, I will try both of these

I can eat about 3-4 oz up to 6 depending on the food.< br> Right now I can eat half a hamburger patty with some cheese and a slice of bacon. Another meal is 2 slices of deli meat with a triangle of laughing cow cheese in a rollup situation. If I'm doing canned chicken with buffalo sauce, I can eat 3/4 of the can no problem.
I just had my surgery last Monday, so I am not as far along as you, but I wonder where you get your recipe ideas from. Right now it all sounds so good to me!

I always thought the size of those cups of yogurt were sort of a joke! Who could ever just eat one and be full. Now I know, sometimes I can’t even a full cup of yogurt!
