dathvick got a reaction from Tat19808 in Progress Pictures
Does anyone else take or plan on taking progress pictures? My surgery is 2 1/2 weeks away so I took my before pictures this morning. I took front, back and both sides (with nothing on but a pair of boxers) and I put the date and my weight at the bottom of the pictures. I plan on taking pictures every week to show my progress. I enjoy putting up websites so I will probably create a progress website once I have my surgery.
I thought about posting one of my before pictures on here but didn't want to offend anyone, it is hard for me to see myself this way which should really help stay the course once I get started.
While typing this post I thought about it and figured posting my back picture shouldn't offend anyone but if it does let me know and I will remove it.

I had mine on Wednesday morning, I would have gone to work today if I hadn't already turned in my time card. The only issue I have is when I sneeze, blow my nose or getting in and out of bed. My left side where they put the drain and the pump is very sore. I guess it is like having a hernia. They gave me some oxycodone and it knocks down the pain pretty well. I can't believe I am no longer hungry, Tomorrow, I get to add Greek Yogurt and cream Soups and Protein Shakes back to my diet.

I prefer Premier Protein shakes, chocolate is my favorite. They have 160 calories, and 30 grams of Protein. I have been drinking them for about a year and a half

Finally, I had my RNY bypass surgery yesterday. I was groggy all day yesterday but once I got up this morning and started moving around my head started feeling normal again.
I was on a week long Liver Reduction diet and was able to lose 17 lbs that week.
I am not in much pain, it mostly only hurts trying to get up and down in bed.
I haven't had any problem with keeping Water down which is a real surprise for me, I tend to guzzle at times.
I am glad to be on the path to a much better life.

I got my insurance approval letter yesterday (it only took 2 weeks after the request was submitted). Needless to say I am very excited. Hopefully within about 3 weeks I can have surgery. I currently take 6 injections a day for diabetes and am looking forward to the day I am off all medications. I also have issues with ED so I am hoping after I am off all meds and drop a bunch of weight that area gets better also.
This is the 2nd time being in the program. The first time was 2 years ago and about 2/3 the way thru my insurance changed to a policy that didn't cover it so I had to stop after being in the program about 5 months. This past January I purposely switched employers just to get back to the good insurance and it worked. I am a contractor for the federal government so my employer and benefits could change at any time so I have been holding my breath hoping that I could get through the program and the surgery before I get moved to another contract company again.
