  1. Hi. I have been experiencing this also. I'm not having complete emotional breakdowns, but I have been crying more frequently. I am planning on talking with the doctor at my next appointment. I don't think it would hurt to talk with the doctor about it. For me I think I'm just emotionally overwhelmed with so many changes going on. Perhaps it could be something like that. The place I had my surgery done at has a counselor on staff that I might be meeting with. See if that's something the doctor would recommend it may be helpful.

  2. Hi all. I'm reading about all these struggles with sweets. Honestly there's a lot of stuff out there with sugar substitute that are actually pretty good. I made pumpkin pie without crust and used Splenda instead of sugar. It was so good and I couldn't tell the difference. There's so many things you can enjoy. If your craving ice cream there's a brand called Enlightened. It's high Protein and no sugar. It's ok to have a treat especially with the alternatives available. Just try to get the sugar free stuff.

  3. Hi. I also got my sleeve on the 25 th. Doing well overall. I am doing my best to get in my Protein. Still having pain when standing up and sitting down and having dizzy spells. I know I'm a bit dehydrated and tend to forget to dink slow when I feel thirsty. I am having terrible heartburn. So I'm still learning to get into the habit of drinking slowly all day. I am down a total of 17 pounds. So far no regrets. Best wishes everyone!

  4. Hi all. I'm two weeks post op and am doing well overall. I am wondering if anyone ever experienced random dizzy spells after surgery. They seem to come on very suddenly and I have to immediately sit down drink some Water and rest. It seems to happen every day. I'm also sleeping a lot and get tired very quickly. I'm thinking maybe it's dehydration or a blood sugar drop. I don't have diabetes. I'm hoping it is something that will improve over time.

  5. Hi all! I had a group meeting recently with the dietitian at my doctors office to discuss the liver reduction diet. The dietitian made the suggestion to add a teaspoon of sugar free pudding to the shake to add more flavor. I must say this is the answer to making these shakes decent. So far I got chocolate, vanilla, banana cream and lemon pudding for my shakes.

Just thought I would share this for those who are struggling with Protein Shakes because they are generally not very good. I know when I first tried the shakes all the flavors tasted the same.

Now I finally have the answer and feel way more prepared to start the liver reduction diet this Saturday!

  6. Hi everyone. Today my doctor called me with the results from my upper GI test and reported my GERD is severe. He told me the sleeve may make my GERD worse and talked with me about possibly getting the bypass instead or taking the risk and going forward with the sleeve.

Any thoughts or experiences would be helpful.

    Thank you

  7. I am also wondering if anyone could recommend a decent tasting shake. The weight loss clinic gave us 2 brands to choose from for the liver reduction diet. The first one is BioPro and the second one is Baratric fusion. I got a free sample of unflavored BioPro. It was pretty gross. I also ordered a sample pack of the Baratric Fusion. I find that adding stevia and blending it with almond milk and ice cubes makes it a bit better but not the best.

  8. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I'm pretty young (26) so it was difficult for doctors to take me seriously. I always woke up with a horrible headache and would trip over everything and can barely function in the morning. This has been going on for years and I thought it was just normal for me and I just wasn't a morning person. I'm still waiting for my CPAP and I'm hoping this will help me feel better. This diagnosis makes me qualify for the sleeve. My BMI is 37. I had my appointment with my surgeon and he said using the machine will increase my chances for success with WLS. They also have a theory that my sleep apnea caused my rapid weight gain because I had no change in my eating habits. Best luck to you on your journey. [emoji3]
