Day 6.
Yesterday was my medical clearance appt. My doc was not satisfied with my ekg and scheduled me for another pulmonary and cardio clearance., just to be sure so that there's no hiccups on Friday.
So, aside from getting kids ready and going to school i had appts to run to.
Got 2 Protein shakes and 1 cream of chicken. Did not do well with Water so I'm playing catch up dight now. I got the worst reflux pain I have ever had that I'm considering not eating much tomorrow. I literally packed a can and a liquid shake for work tomorrow.
PS. I am down 10 lbs as of today!

Well I was Mrs. cranky pants yesterday. Cravings hit me hard!
Got my Protein in but fell short on waree..unless tea can count towards it..
Took the day off today to run some errands and I have my medical clearance appt. I get my test results through my hospital online so I've seen my results and they're not bad. Lets see what my doc says.
I got my spirometer? Breathing practice on the day of my labs but forgot to practice so I will start today.
I found out about PB2 (peanut powder) and it is a game changer! My shakes are even more yummy.
Here are my stats:

Combination of poor eating habits, lack of exercise, compounded by thryroid disorder. This past year I have not been able to walk more than 5 minutes due to arthritis os.my lower back, which has added to weight gain.
I did not begin to have a weight problem until my mid twenties, the same time I was diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis.

Day 4 pre op
Went out last night to my sister's birthday party and packed my Protein Shake, crystal light, and made my cream of mushroom. I ate my Soup quietly and the only ppl that noticed were my table mates. My bff and immediate family already knows amd when I told my cousin I was on a liquid diet she left it at that. I didn't want to bring attention to myself at my sister's big day and everything worked out, my family and true friends are very understanding bc they have seen me go from the skinniest to the heaviest sister in almost 20 yrs.
The food I brought was enough to last me the entire party.
However I went to bed with a tickle in my throat and woke with a tingle in my sinus.
Really hoping it's not a cold. I will be drinking a lot of tea today.
My youngest woke with a runny nise and he's my allergy kid so it might just be allergies (hope.)

Day 3 here. Definitely not getting enough Protein. Only bought vanilla premiere protein and can barely get it down because of the aftertaste. I ordered protein powder online Thursday and because of the holiday, will not receive it until Mon/Tues. I'm waiting on my husband to get home so I can do some liquid food shopping.
Took another test, negative and have cramps so that is the last I will be writing about that.
Went out last night and brought my crystal light with me. Did not miss the alcohol; but had major food cravings. There were Snacks all over the place.
My toddler has been having tantrums all weekend. He's non verbal with limited vocabulary so that's how he shows me he's upset. Despite that I've been trying to give him as many hugs as I can besause I will not be able to hold him for a few weeks.
Ive been having creamed Soup for 1 meal each day and its the only thing that holds me if only for a couple of hours but I feel like I'm cheating, each can has 9g of carbs plus the 1% milk I use. So I'm looking for alternatives.
Oh and I have had no BM in 2 days.
But, I'm down to 281

Tried tracking my meals yesterday and overdid it on the sodium with a can of creamed mushroom Soup which I diluted and strained nut still ate the whole thing with hot sauce. scale reflects that..back to 284.6.
Was really hungry yesterday and just craving solids.

Today is my pre op appointment and just out of curiosity I took a pregnancy test (one of those cheap tests I get online) I had a few left over. And it was positive?!
I'm not one to put my business out there and I'm freaking out. I get my bloodwork today and there will also be a pregnancy test at the lab today which will be more accurate.
But if I am this will be the end of my VSG journey.. at least for now.
So, off to the lab I go!

It's starting to feel really real right now. My pre op diet starts tomorrow and my last meal was a salad!
I have a bunch of liquids and some Premier protien shakes for tomorrow and I'm waiting on my Amazon delivery of actual Protein Powder in the next few days. Highest weight was 286 and current weight is 284.4
I have my pre surgical testing tomorrow morning.

I will never go to an ENDO doc again. I am seeing a functional doctor now and hope that will really help me out. So far he has run more tests and offered more assistance than any endo. They dont want to get to the root cause, just treat symptoms. [emoji4]
It took me 15 years to realize that. Now I just go to my Endo to monitor my nodules and refill prescriptions. He does run the usual thyroid tests.
I also suffer from Hashimotos and am deficient in Vit D and Iron, for which I take supplements.
Currently Pre op.

My surgeon did not give me a goal. He just told me to make sure I try not to gain any more weight before surgery and that he thinks I will lose about 100 lbs in six months.
I currently pre op. Will start liquid diet in 1 week. 5 ft 6 285 lbs.

I found out I had one after upper endoscopy and I'm scheduled to have it repaired during VSG. The way they made it sound is that they just pull it down. I have some pain from time to time and get heartburn frequently so I'm hopinf that will stop after surgery.

Medicaid is different from State to State. From what you're saying it looks like you are on Medicaid Managed Care. Which means Medicaid pays for your United Healthcare premium. I live in NY so I can only speak from NY experience. First call shouod be to United Healthcare to make sire they cover the Surgery, second call around to see if your Surgeon takes your specific Plan. I know in NY we have a websote wjere we can lookup specific providers based on our insurance. Hope this helps.

8 months. Month 9 is my surgery date. Its supposed to be 6 to 7 months but I didn't factor in how long it takes to book specialists.
