Hi everyone. I am 31 years old I have a rowdy little 5 year old about to start kindergarten. My surgery date is August 21st, and I am beyond excited. I keep telling my son that soon I am going to be able to run and play with him. We are both so ready for that! Wish everyone luck. I am a week in to my pre op diet and have lost 5 lbs already. This journey is truly life changing. I love to see everyones stories. So encouraging.

Hi all, my surgery date for the sleeve is August 21st. Excited and nervous at the same time but anticipating getting this weight off! Since my spinal fusion in 03 and my spinal implantation in 2016 I struggled with my weight going up and down from 187lbs to 201lbs standing at 4'11". My mobility is limited due to my back. So some exercises are off limits for me. Prayerfully this will help and I can come off the most of the meds I consume.

Hi,
This is my first time posting, but I have stalking this site for quite some time. LOl. I have a BMI of almost 36, and I have a few comorbidities. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and am pre-diabetic. I am also going to be going in for a sleep study within a week. I do not take any medications for any of my current diagnosis' as they are all recently diagnosed. I am wondering what everyone's experience has been with Medicaid in California. I called my insurance and they told me that they will cover it, but I have to wait. I am Yo-Yo dieter and my fear is that I will lose some of the weight in the process and might drop before a 35BMI. I know the weight will just come back, but I am worried that will disqualify me. Also I might be able to get a loan from family to go the cash pay route, but then I would essentially be signing my life over to them. I am just worried about essentially waiting 7 months to have surgery to find out they wont do it. Thoughts? I could use some encouragement. I know this this surgery is going to allow me to spend more time doing the things I love to do, and it is worth it. Waiting just seems like the worst thing ever. I just want to get the process started.

Today is the day. Hope all those ladies that went in this morning are doing great. I have been listening to the radio and they are all hyped about the eclipse I didn't realize until one of the other posters stated today is a special day with the eclipse and also with all of our surgeries... yay
