Today is the day. Hope all those ladies that went in this morning are doing great. I have been listening to the radio and they are all hyped about the eclipse I didn't realize until one of the other posters stated today is a special day with the eclipse and also with all of our surgeries... yay

    Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Hi everyone. I am 31 years old I have a rowdy little 5 year old about to start kindergarten. My surgery date is August 21st, and I am beyond excited. I keep telling my son that soon I am going to be able to run and play with him. We are both so ready for that! Wish everyone luck. I am a week in to my pre op diet and have lost 5 lbs already. This journey is truly life changing. I love to see everyones stories. So encouraging. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anthem Blue Medi-Cal California

Hi, This is my first time posting, but I have stalking this site for quite some time. LOl. I have a BMI of almost 36, and I have a few comorbidities. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and am pre-diabetic. I am also going to be going in for a sleep study within a week. I do not take any medications for any of my current diagnosis' as they are all recently diagnosed. I am wondering what everyone's experience has been with Medicaid in California. I called my insurance and they told me that they will cover it, but I have to wait. I am Yo-Yo dieter and my fear is that I will lose some of the weight in the process and might drop before a 35BMI. I know the weight will just come back, but I am worried that will disqualify me. Also I might be able to get a loan from family to go the cash pay route, but then I would essentially be signing my life over to them. I am just worried about essentially waiting 7 months to have surgery to find out they wont do it. Thoughts? I could use some encouragement. I know this this surgery is going to allow me to spend more time doing the things I love to do, and it is worth it. Waiting just seems like the worst thing ever. I just want to get the process started.
