  1. Hi All!
Congratulations on all of your successes! I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery on 8/21! So far so good. My start weight was 241, my goal is 150 (i'd even be happy with 160) and i am currently 177.
I am happy with my success but i wanted to know if anyone was experiencing something i am since we are all around the same time out. I have had little to no side effects or acid or anything like that. Recently, at night only I have been having this sensation that literally keeps me up at night. I feel a warm sensation in my throat like something is about to come up. I DO NOT eat before bed, i take a small sip of Water to take my Iron pill. Just even 2 weeks ago, i would drink alot before bed but this did not happen. I don't really feel too good today and have some reflux, so i'm wondering if it was particularly bad last night simply because i don't feel good. But it has been happening the past 3-4 nights. Also of note, i take a nap during the day sometimes while my son naps and it doesn't happen to me at all. I'm literally wondering if it's in my head. I spit up one time after drinking too much before bed and it was horrible. Maybe now i'm afraid it'll happen again.

I just cannot make sense of it. I was previously having a small snack before bed (2 hours before bed or so) and this would not happen. It's driving me crazy!!! I can't live like this because i'm not falling asleep until 1am and i get up very early.

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all and congrats again! Crystal

What is your starting height? I was sleeved the same day, and had the same sw. I am now at 172. I am 5'10. I actually have the same goal as you as well!!!!

  2. I had my sleeve with a bmi right at 35. It was the best decision of MY LIFE. I regret nothing. I was sleeved at the end of august and am d0wn 60lbs, and my bmi is now 26. I am almost in the normal range for my height. I would say go for it. Both of my parents are doctors and believed the sleeve was the right decision for me. Do your apts and start your new life.

  3. I was sleeved 22 August, I have lost 52 pound 24 kilos but 6 of those kilos were in my pre opt, I exercise daily and nearly meet my Protein goals everyday, I drink a litre of Water a day. I have lost weight quicker than this pre surgery, so this is a bit disheartening! I also feel very self conscious, more so than when I was 52 kilos heavier! Haven’t gone down too much in clothes at all just bras! But hoping I can regain my confidence! And my big fat belly seems to not be moving at all, is this normal??

I was told that the belly was the last to go. I have lost a lot in my chest, thighs, face, and arms.

    Sw 229 i think
    Cw 185
    Gw 160 maybe less
    Im 5'10
Lost a lot of inches. When i dont feel like i am losing lbs, i always measure. I went from a size 16 at american eagle to a size 12 currently. I used to be able to wear my jeans for a few times before they were saggy, and now half way through the day they are loose. I just ordered a size large jacket, and it fits. Havent bought many new clothes, i told myself i was going to wait for christmas to splurge. I feel so much better, and getting dressed in the morning no longer makes me want to cringe. I just pick whatever and it all fits. Baggy. Started dating someone new, and feel confident in how i look naked now. Still a ways to go, but i know this was the best decision of my life. As a cash pay, i know this investment is well worth the return.

  6. Yesterday I weighed myself and I am in onderland. I am 196.5 over the weekend I also had my 2 months surgeversary and am down 46 lbs. So excited, bought my first size 12 since before I had my son 6 years ago. I don't even remember being this weight since my early 20s I went from thin to pregnant to 240 lbs. Feeling so good, one of my co-workers told me today I should stop here as I look good already. I politely told her I am not stopping for another 40 lbs. Lol my weight distributes well as I am 5 ten. So thankful for this surgery and for the opportunities I have been given to be healthy, and so much happier.... here's to the next 40 lbs.

  7. Having a hard time the last couple of weeks. Sleeved on 8/21. Down 40 lbs since pre op diet, and weight loss has slowed to a crawl. Starting weight was 242, and no I am almost to onderland but have not lost for 2 weeks. I know I am not eating too much, and the hunger is still gone, but dang the lbs were just melting off and now nothing. I feel good where I am, and people are noticing my weight loss but I still have about 50 to go, and i hope it comes off... I have gone down 1 pant size to a 14, but had those hidden in the back of my closet, so I didn't have to buy anything. Just wondering when this stall is going to break. I know I should be thankful that my weight loss is slow, everyone keeps telling me it helps to not have saggy skin, but dang. I am impatient. Hope everyone else is doing well. I know I am only 2 months out, but it seems like forever and it also seems like people have lost a lot more weight at this point. :(

  8. I have been discouraged from not losing fast enough either. I do realize though that my starting weight was at a 34 bmi I am now at a 30 bmi, and although I have only lost 16 lbs post op and coming into my 4th week, I have lost 36 inches. Mostly in my chest. Lol but hearing everyone's struggles have helped. As bad as that sounds, it is encouraging to know that other people are going through this as well. My mom keeps telling me that the slower you lose, the better it is for your skin to bounce back. So yay for a slow loser!

  9. I have been using Protein Powder, 3 strawberries, a piece of peach and a piece of pineapple to make fruit smoothies. I have also added about 1/4 cup orange juice to blend it all together. Does this seen like it okay. There is no added sugar, just natural sugars. I am 4 weeks post op. It takes me about 2 hours to drink the ama smoothie, but I am wondering if anyone else is doing this as well.

  11. I have hit this stall and have been sad for a week. I had 16 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing since then. It is hard to take this especially when I private paid and it was like buying a new car. Lol I know it takes times but it was like the best feeling in the world when I got on the scale and it was going down, and now nothing for 7 days. Grrr.

  12. It's super frustrating when the weight loss stops so early. I am almost 3 weeks out, and lost 17 lbs the first 2 weeks and haven't lost in a week, and now I am scared that I am going to be someone that this doesn't work for. It's like my worst fear. I also have a hard time getting everything in when I am supposed. I really just want to drink Water, and can only do 1 Protein Shake a day, or I feel yucky the rest of the day. I have been eating refried Beans and ground chicken for meals with a tiny little measuring cup that is only 2 ounces. I ate a little more than that this last meal and feel absolutely sick. I also have no energy, and don't know how I am going to go back to work with no energy. So sorry your struggling, it's the worst. I am super grateful for this surgery, but am so scared that it isn't going to work.

  13. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! This helps a lot! I'll def be double the whole getting in the ocean thing. I thought 9 days would be too soon but wanted to see if anyone else had experience. And thank you all for the Vitamin low down. [emoji4] Really have appreciated this site thus far.

My surgeon told me 72 hrs and my incisions would be closed. My surgeon uses glue, and so my incisions today one week out are closed and healing over. I went swimming Sunday 6 days out from surgery and then made sure when I got out i cleaned my incisions really well. Didn't have a problem and swimming felt really good.

  14. Is that what you lost in a week? I think I've only lost about 6 lbs but I haven't pooped so in definitely retaining Water. I think I'm getting in a lot of calories for this stage (~1000) but it's what my body wants.

I lost about 14 lbs in a week, I am not sure how that is possible and it seems very extreme. I tracked my food yesterday and I am averaging 250-450 cal a day. Mainly just Protein Shakes and also clear Protein waters. I am sure that the weight loss will regulate itself soon.

  15. I had my VSG surgery yesterday and I feel absolutely awful; still in hospital, can't keep down liquids, can't get comfortable. I thought I would be in much better shape at this point. Feeling very low.

I feel absolutely awful too. I got discharged after 1 day and am right now getting driven to my parents house where I will get iv fluids, (both parents are family practice doctors) cause I can't keep anything down. Even ice is making me vomit. Hoping this will get better. Sorry that you are in the same boat. This boat sucks

Hi everyone! ....... My Sleeve surgery was postponed for the 3rd time. Looking ahead to a 9.25.17 date now.

I had previously started the liquid diet for the first 2 days & thought I was going to pass out or die! I was in bad shape & won't lie..... I was relieved that my surgery was delayed another month. Little did I know then, what I know now............. getting past that second day is Key........ that is when your body starts burning off stored fat! Now, I look forward to the next time I do this diet before surgery. They don't tell you everything......... I've read & learned so much since joining this forum. Thanks everyone! :)

Why did your surgery get postponed?
