I hate it when people post just to post.....

There's a paranormal competition show that's on one of the channels, it might be FX and they get points for figure out different situations. Some are dealing with live people and others dead. Some do much better with the dead! It's pretty cool, I'm glad I don't see dead people:lol: I think there's going to be a new show soon with children who have "the gift" or the curse which ever you want to call it. I think it's really difficult for children, I've seen shows on it before and they're pretty much outcasts and stressed!

Gonna break down and get an UNfill...

Even at my lowest fill amount for some reason a hard boiled egg is still the hardest thing for me to eat, scrambled fine, just not the egg white by itself! I think cereal is easy because you've got milk along with it so it's going to go through your pouch. I usually eat shredded wheat as it's so full of Fiber and fills me up more than let's say a flake type cereal or an oatmeal which would go through me even quicker. I'm the "queen" of the go through the band eaters so I think I know what I'm talking about. It's just another example of how we all have the lap band but we all seem to work it differently and some are working it in unhealthy ways. I hope you get it unfilled for a while and try to eat normally. I know everyone feels differently at different fill levels but you still have a band there and it can catch certain foods even if it's not filled very much. So focus on your health for now, good luck brandyII.

Why are people afraid of atheism?

Mrs. Flipflops, I don't know that many people who are atheists and can only speak for myself. I really couldn't teach my children about god and the whole Christian thing because I really didn't fully believe it myself. It had nothing to do with losing my faith, I guess because even though it was kind of forced on me ever since I was a child I never felt it to be something I could accept logically and whole heartedly. Historically I could accept certain things but totally let it engulf me in a spiritual sense is another thing. And I am the type of person that if I don't really fully believe in something I'm not going to pretend I do and put those beliefs on my children.

    African Grey Congo Parrot names/advice?

I just asked my daughter, as this is her baby but of course she lives with me still so what can I say. Anyway she thinks her birthday was 3/28. They said she's been eating like a little piggy and that she wants to feed on her own and we could have gotten her sooner but my daughter had the RNY two weeks ago and I wanted to make sure she was healthy enough to take the trip to go down and also to take care of the Momiji when she gets her! She wants her to bond with her and not me and I'm fine with that because all the other animals have bonded with me and it's one less animal to feed but of course I'm excited to have her and it should be a real treat! I've heard they can regress and may want to be hand fed again so that's something we'll be prepared for and don't think it will be a problem. I love the name Scooter B, it's really cute. Tootie is cute too! I'm hoping since Momiji is going to be so smart she'll help me with the dogs! She was raised around a lot of dogs so although I'm still going to be very careful it's definitely a plus! Since my daughter had the gastric bypass I guess they will both be introduced to new foods at the same time. It's definitely a whole new world for us as we've never had a parrot of this size before or this smart! My daughter has already lectured me that if she comes home and finds Momiji saying something stupid that she assumes I taught her, well I forget what she said she'd do but I'm on strict orders not to teach it anything, like that's going to happen:lol::biggrin:! Thanks KC, although it is my daughter's bird, I have to keep saying that, as I've heard this so many times from her, I'm really excited and since she's 19 and I'm 48 I'm assuming she'll outlive me and should be able to take care of her. We've had our cockatiels for over 10 years I think, maybe longer. I always had a parakeet ever since I was a little girl, so I've always loved birds but this is a whole new ballgame! We're suppose to quarantine them from each other for a while so they won't meet yet I suppose. I also have to get an avian vet which I should have gotten by now! So that's a good reminder for me to get on the phone and searching. Anyway thanks I'm sure I'll be chatting with you as we go through Scooter B and Momiji's trials and tribulations together, take care Nancy.

Why are people afraid of atheism?

If you were raised by atheists isn't it possible that you never believed there was a god? So in that sense aren't turning away from "god" because you never believed in the first place.

    infection but still positive

Wow, I wish I had a pain pump! My daughter had gastric bypass surgery about two weeks ago and that pain pump was her best friend! I hope things get better for you I know it's frustrating. Take care brandyII.

It's not easy to pull off pink, but really not easy to pull off blue if you're blond and it turns your hair green like my daughter who got to live with that for a while!

Trying To Figure This Out ????

I am in no way an expert in this field, lol, but I know my husband and a group of his workmates go outside and walk during their lunch hours and I guess it's their way of getting in some exercise during the day, getting out of the office and relieving some stress. I have a treadmill in the basement too, which is a good place for it because it's colder down there but getting on it can be a jaunting task. I'm sure there are a lot of people here who can get you back on track again, that's what they're here for! good luck brandyII.

    infection but still positive

Well I'm not a nurse and don't pretend to be and you know a lot more about it than I do but I'm not sure why you had an IV of antibiotics for the night. Was there a specific reason, I know most people it seems can go home as it's outpatient surgery and don't have those antibiotics in their system. Just trying to understand, brandyII.

Speaking of hair, I watched a show about a woman in CA who is a "medium" not size but she sees dead people. She had the wildest hair I've ever seen. It was fairly short and spiked but not "punk" spike just could tell she had mousse in it. Anyway it' was bright yellow white in the center crown and all round were red/purple spikes and then you could see her natual color underneath. It's hard to explain but it was a mix between looking like a flower and a dog. Does that make sense. It was just very colorful!

I hate the smell of hair dye, I used Nutress (sp) and it had a bad odor about it, I'm normally a "natural" blond but then I got old!

You mentioned you know errors were made what errors do you think were made? I hope you're better soon I know it's not that common to have an infection like that but at least you're getting things taken care of. Do you really think they'll have to remove the band? brandyII

Why are people afraid of atheism?

I should be in bed but I dyed my hair so I'm up late, again but I have to say something in all honesty here. I know sometimes I kid around about stuff but in all seriousness I have something to say on this matter. As one who was raised Catholic and attended Catholic schools for 12 years and then pretty much after my mother died, the Catholic guide of my life I pretty much left the church, not because she died but because she wasn't around to make me go anymore. I really never felt comfortable with organized religion in general and as I've grown and learned more about history and have seen the horrors that have gone along with the Catholic church I've chosen not to have it be a part of my life. I still though consider myself to be spiritual but not necessarily need to label myself anything anyway. As I had children I had inside known I would not raise them Catholic and did not have them baptized either which most of you who were raised Catholic would think of this as probably horrible. I also was not married in the Catholic Church as the priest would not marry us because we were living in sin. Anyway so there was an amicable break up between myself and the Catholic Church. I found that since I could not be sincere in my beliefs in the Catholic Church that I could not raise my daughters in the Church and brought them up to be good people, which they are, and to make the decision on their own. I know a lot of people think that's wrong but I'm not here to be right. To make a long story short/or longer depending on how you look at it, my youngest 19 considers herself to be pagan and my eldest has said she is atheist or possibly agnostic, but I think she leans more towards atheism. To end this, the reason I bring this up is because I have had twinges of guilt for not baptizing them or bringing them up with some form of Christian religion, especially the eldest because I felt prior that I must have been a really horrible mother because my daughter considered herself to be an atheist. But I've come to learn from this thread, that I've been drawn to for so long and it keeps popping up over and over again, that I'm wrong. The atheists who have been brave enough to come on this thread and educate us as to what atheism is and what issues you have had with discrimination and just basically teaching me your thoughts on the matter have really changed it around for me and I can now feel proud to say my daughter is an atheist and I don't have to feel guilty anymore. I think you are the most intelligent group of people I've ever listened to on this forum. I'm not a butt kisser but you've impressed me. I'd much rather her be an atheist than an evangelical Christian who I don't think can think for herself. I don't mean to sound harsh but it's just how I feel, brandyII.:tongue2:

    My girlie gene is weak!

Just realized it and kind of embarrassed too but I'm very girlie when it comes to decor and the home, I'm really into the "shabby chic" look and don't have a lot of it around but I really like it and the Swedish look too but it's not very husband-friendly or dog-friendly and my daughters aren't too keen on it either but it's the girliest part of me! Got to rinse out my hair dye!!!!:tongue2:
