Hey guys so long time no see. Here’s what’s happened. I have lost a grand total of 258 pounds I now weigh 415 pounds. However I have hit a MAJOR stall. I’m talking about a few MONTHS. I exercise 5 times a week, eat healthy (IE: I meal prepped ground turkey avocado wraps this week as an example) and my body is not having it. It says it loves this weight and will fluctuate slightly but will not go down. I’m at a loss. Help!

I don't think 1-cup would be a pouch-stretching issue a year post-op. They always intend for you to be able to actually eat small meals after a while. At least, that's my understanding. If you're only eating 1/2 cup, that makes it almost impossible for you to get 4-6 oz. of Protein plus some veggies. Maybe you're eating too little and that's why you get hungry again so quickly.
Yall are such angels. I needed this advice!! I think that's exactly what I'm doing eating too little, and I can be honest and also say I'm a rather fast eater (some things I see do not change[emoji30])

Oh I can!! Lol! (Ive done it on multiple good meals) just kinda limit myself because I'm always scared of the whole stretching your pouch thing....which Now that I look back on it may be why I'm having this problem? I'm not eating to full capacity per-say

I am surprised that you are hungry that quickly. I am over 3 years out now and when I eat my Protein post training (5-8 oz meat usually) I am not hungry for at least 2 hours. And sometimes not until I get home from work.
If you are eating nothing but meat, how much are you eating? If it is only 2-4 oz, then I would say you are right where you should be. If you are mixing vegetable and meat, that would explain why you are getting hungry sooner. They just break down quicker. Again, just as it should be.
oh - totally off topic, Tilapia is OK in a pinch, but it really is a garbage fish. If you can manage it, go for just about any other fish. Haddock or cod are my whitefish of choice just because of availability.
I appreciate all feedback! I usually just buy tilapia because it's the first thing I see lol. I do know I have a sleeve on the "larger" side because I find that I can eat a bit more than my other friends who are sleeved. I never thought of that to be an issue since I'm basically scarfing down protein 24/7. But I do eat green Beans alot with alot of my Proteins as well. I can usually put down a little more than half a cup of food at an initial sitting. But all my concurrent meals are significantly less after that -
Are you still avoiding liquids during/after meals?
I do for the most part. I say the most part because I will admit the time that I wait is usually less now. Probably around 15 minutes or so and I'll take a swig of Water or something. (Not gulps however) but usually I still try to maintain not drinking and eating with meals -
HEY ALL!!! It's BigTex checking in! Just hit my 200 pounds lost goal 1 month short of being A year post OP. I'm noticing that Im getting hungry FAST. And I'm not talking about after eating light meals. I'm talking Protein dense meals. Tilapia, baked chicken, curried turkey(it's a gem try it!) I'll get hungry again in about an hour and 30 minutes. Anyone else have this issue? What did y'all do to satisfy the beast? It almost feels like I'm constantly eating/drinking something with high protein. Is this normal? Did a old witch put a curse over me? Do I need to sacrifice a goat? HELP!

I'm gonna be blunt. I've lost 55 pounds, and I swear I'm bigger in "The Good Place" than I was ever, even in college. We are talking multiple inches. I'm an exhibitionist so the temptation to share the before and afters with you must be resisted, but suffice to say, after the joy of looking down and seeing it again . . . the second joy of the reactions. . . well . . .let's just say my username isn't a dream anymore, it's real.
That's so great fam! Maybe one day I'll get like You!

As long as there's honesty afoot, man boobs don't bother as much as this fat pad above "little Tex" if you catch my drift. I'm trying to coax the dragon out the cave. That's the sole reason I haven't broken down and bought Oreos at the nearby supermarket.

I had moobs before my female classmates have, I worked out and nothing seemed to work. I'm 8 weeks into my 12 week pre-op period and am hoping for a January Bypass Surgery. I reached a level of acceptance of them but am holding out a little hope that once the surgery is done they may decrease....
Good sir let me tell you! They do decrease and you will feel so excited!! I actually had my measured at Victoria secret (DONT YOU JUDGE ME[emoji23]) and started off in the I's. I'm now down to a 48 F. I'm determined to get these moobs out my life!

Sup fellas! (And/or ladies who have snuck in here[emoji23])
Been awhile but my first thing is I have lost just short of 120 pounds to the day since my surgery 07/17/17 And am feelin GREAT! (Picture attached). My biggest concern is the amount of what I can consume. I can eat a good 8-9 OZ steak AND a few bites of spinach or whatever veggies I accompany with my Protein. I have been working out hardcore lately but is that still normal for us? I ALWAYS eat protein first. A few weeks ago I consumed 2 baked chicken legs and a wing with some wiggle room for a few bites of steamed broccoli. Am I OVER eating? I have also never came across something that my pouch disagreed with. (I celebrated my first 100 by eating a slice of cheesecake at one of my friends get togethers) And had no I'll consequences. I'm calling on all my brothers and sisters in arms. knowledge is very much needed!

I started at 518 lbs 2 years ago and am now at 214 lbs and holding steady. I have some loose skin in my arms and a little bit in my legs. I still have a lot in my stomach area. To be honest, it hasn't been a big deal for me. There isn't anything that the loose skin prevents me from doing. It does give me a bit of a middle-aged paunch in my stomach area if I tuck in my shirt, but compression shorts or shirts pretty well minimize that. Obviously, plastic surgery would be an option to deal with the loose skin, but I doubt that I will do it. It doesn't bother me enough at this point to want to deal with the expense and recovery time.
You just gave me so much hope. Started at 545 I'm down yo 447. In 4 months. Can't Wait to get down to You!

Major Stall
in The Guys’ Room
Posted
Okay everyone BIG UPDATE. I took the advice here on this forum and some more that I searched around for how people were breaking their stalls. I firstly did an intermittent fast for 24 hours. I drank Water had some tea (and prayed because PHEW your boy was HUNGRY LOL) and then I cut out all my snacking habits and increased my time between meals from every two hours to every four hours. I have lost 8 pounds since then. I started to interchange my workouts to include sometimes just a walk instead of weights and running. Thank you all and I hope this helps somebody else too💙
