  1. I was sleeved on August 18, 2017 in Tijuana, Mexico. I haven’t seen a primary care physician since my surgery and I was wondering at what point I should do so? I’ve heard that it’s a good idea to check in with a doctor to make sure everything is going smoothly and you’re not malnourished. Even those of you who were sleeved in the states, how often have you seen your doctor? Thanks friends

  2. Omg I completelyyyy feel you on the sushi craving. I saw a picture today and my mouth was watering! I am two weeks post op today and have definitely had moments where I feel so defeated because I'm tired of eating Soup and Protein shakes! After literally sobbing to my mom she brought home Snacks and convinced me that if I chewed them well I shouldn't have a problem. Now I am noooo way condoning to stray from your physicians meal plan, but from personal experience, you're not going to die if you have a little something different. I eat very little still and probably around 500 calories or less. But yesterday I really wanted a Thai curry and had a teeny bit of brown rice with it and I was completely fine. I've even had a couple of goldfish, hummus, a thin slice of cheese and tofu. As long as you chew well, eat slow and listen to your body, you shouldn't have an issue. Don't think that you're never going to have these foods again because it's simply not the truth. I've seen so many sleevers posting pictures of their sushi and pastas. It's all about balance and making healthy choices, not depriving yourself. Hang in there, it will all be worth it soon enough I just know it!

  3. Hello friends! I am 5 days post op from my vsg surgery and for the most part I'm feeling pretty good. I'm rarely hungry and do my best to get fluids in through sugar free drinks, popsicles and broths. But I've been struggling with gas pains. It happens throughout the day and the only way to relieve is it to try and burp. I was wondering how long this will last? Every day has gotten better but it's still getting to be annoying and uncomfortable.

Accompanying the gas pain, I have a brief minute-long moment where the air gets stuck and I feel extremely nauseous. My mouth fills with saliva as if I'm going to throw up and then never actually do. This has happened once every morning and I'm wondering if this has happened to any of you and if so how long until it went away?

Sorry if this message is a little tmi btw... and thank you to those who are taking the time to read and possibly respond

  4. Hi, I'm new to this app, and have a question that I'm kind of nervous about asking. I am currently on the pre-op liquid diet and am going to be sleeved in 11 days! I'm very excited and motivated to start my wls journey.

I just recently moved to Southern California because I'm starting school here in the fall. All of my friends are in Northern California and have no idea that I'm having this surgery. I was wondering at what point, post-op, were you able to have a drink? I am by no means an alcoholic, I'm just a 21 year old girl who loves to have nights-out with her friends.

Fortunately for me, all of my friends live 6+ hours away so I won't be seeing them as often. But when I do go to visit, it will be expected that we go out and a have a few drinks. It will be obvious if I go out and don't part-take. I am of course able to say no, but I'd rather not go out with them at all if I can't act how I normally would, if that makes sense.

    Please no judgements

  5. Hi! I am getting my surgery done in Tijuana, Mexico by Dr. Jalil Illan. I've heard nothing but amazing reviews from his patients and I recently met with him via FaceTime. He is so incredibly nice and makes you feel very comfortable. I've been looking into Bariatric surgery for a few years now and have gone through two different doctors in California and I must say that Dr. Illan has made me feel most at ease, confident and not at all worried. I would definitely recommend you looking into him as a surgeon!
