  1. How did you know??? I was hungry and tired. Dr. Authur Glasgow is my doctor. I did meet Dr. Adam Glasgow the day after surgery.

Everything was going great was losing a pound a day. I started out at 199 got down to 183 and now I am up to 188 this morning. I'm thinking I might be depressed and should call the doctors office on Monday to see if I can get help. When I saw the weight come back on-I got into a rut that I can not get out of. My stomach is so sore and having a hard time sleeping. I sleep on my belly but right now I have to sleep on my back. So hungry and the smell of foods are driving me nuts. I dont want to fail. I did order some Lap Band books and Lap Band cookbooks online yesterday. Maybe they will keep me postitive and on track.

Thank you for being so kind. I feel I'm not alone.

  2. I was banded on May 29th in Norwood MA. Everything was going great was losing a pound a day. I started out at 199 got down to 183 and now I am up to 188 this morning. 3. Hi: I am 7 days post op and I am having a hard time. I had surgery in Norwood MA and I am looking for a lap band group or Buddy around the Dudley area. Please Help.

    Thank you,

    MaryAnn

  4. Feeling much better than the first three days. I did try to go to work on Monday, but came home around 11am and napped. Work is too much and I need to take care of me right now. I think I will take the full two weeks off to recover. I'm still sore and have a hard time getting out of bed (anyone else have this problem). How about napping? I need a nap about 1pm.

I did go to Barnes and Nobles today to buy some of the Lap-Band books but of course they did not have any. I’ll order them online tonight. I need some positive reading.

My body is so tiered. I figure it must be going through withdrawals from all the bad food I have been eating (almost like a drug addiction). It’s been tough. Cooking dinner for the family and the smells it makes me hungry (or is it in my head). I am trying to listen to my body but my tummy is rummbly. When I go to bed hungry my stomach makes very scary noises too.

I keep reminding myself that I can do this. I have to do this.

How’s everyone else doing? Hopefully better than me.

  5. I am so tiered and sore. I am having such a hard time getting out of bed. I need my husband to help me out and into bed. It feels like the stitches are being pulled out when I try myself. I did walk outside for about 15 min. I just need to take it one day at a time.

  6. This is so hard-its Thursday and I have seven more days. I have not cheated yet. I keep telling myself it is self control and I need to do this. Ahhhhh...... So hard to cook for the family and I have to drink a shake. I have Memorial Day Family Picnic to go to. Sister-in-law called for recipe for the party and I agreed to bring a fruit bowl. I plan on bringing my Protein and magic bullet. Sorry I had to complain to someone; just having a tough day.

  7. Thank you for sharing your experience. You are amazing:thumbup: I hope I will be as strong as you. This website is great I have learned so much about the lap band its pro’s and con’s. I know that my pro’s out weigh my con’s; so why am I stressing out :scared2:I sure its normal. I have talked to everyone I know about this procedure and some are for it and some are not. Drives me nuts when they say you don’t need this lap band your fine just the way you are :ohmy:Are they nuts. It’s like saying gee she might be fat but she has a pretty face. I am staying close to the positive people and will be attending a lap band meeting this month before I go in for surgery. Thanks for letting me rant and rave about my problems.

  8. WOW!! you are doing great with your weight loss. Keep up the great work! It must be great to have such a wonderful tool to keep ya going you will be a skinny mini soon:thumbup:

How are your cravings??? Do you miss food??? I am getting nervous 26 more days.:) Of course I will go on the liquid diet on the May 14. I want this lap band so bad that now I thinking what if I fail.:) Are you doing a work out routine??? Any suggestions or tips for me:scared2:

    Keep up the great work:thumbup:

  9. Have you had the lap band yet??? If not give Dr. Glasgow office a call. Trust me once you have talk to the girls in the office and meet both the doctors you will love them and the service they provide. They do realize that I have a commute to Norwood. They helped me schedule everything back to back. I met the Physiologist on a Wednesday on that same Wednesday I did the sleep lab at Norwood Hospital and in the morning I met with the Nutrionist in the morning. Every thing done. Umass would have never gone out of their way for me like Dr. Glasgow office. Best thing I ever did was to research them out. They have NO Complaints or negative feedback from anywhere that I can see. I did find negative feedback with Umass. Here is the website to check out:

  10. I would have loved to have gone to Umass in Worc., but they seemed to work against me and made me depressed. They left me hanging for so long. Umass was not personal at all. How can I describe my experience-herd in and herded out-just another number. I saw the Umass doctor in Dec. 2007 and in March 2008 they denied me. I have to say that the care I get in Norwood is so much better than Umass. So understanding-I can call the office any time with any questions and they listen and understand how hard it is to be over weight. Umass was not personal at all. I went to Norwood in April 2008 and was approved April 2008 and now I am waiting for my surgery date. I don’t have to go on any crazy diets-only the pre-surgery diet and the normal after surgery liquid diet and so on. Trust me if I could lose the weight by dieting I would. Norwood is not putting me on any diets for approval.

I wish you the best of luck with Umass and keep me posted.

  11. I transferred from UMASS to Dr. Glasgow and it was the best thing I ever did. The care, knowledge and love for what they do show. I know I am in good hands. I just finished up the Nutritionist, physiologist and did the sleep lab. Again; with the Nutritionist and Physiologist and the Sleep Lab they where great. I am waiting for all the results to come back and they submit to BCBS. So I am in the same boat as you...Waiting....

    Keep me posted...

  12. I was denied by the UMASS doctors. The reason was that I did not have a BMI of 40. My BMI was 37 and they did not factor that I have high blood pressure. They refused to listen and had me denied at the first orientation even though I went as far as seeing the nutritionist and physiologist. From what I got from the whole ordeal at UMASS was that I was too young and that I should continue to diet. Gee; why didn't I think of that? I have been dieting since I was thirteen and only got short term results. I felt they thought I was lazy. It was disappointing to get the denial letter.

I did not give up. I did my research on this website and others about the Dr. that denied me and I was not the only one that was denied but approved by other doctors.

    I am not given up!!!

The lap band is the tool that will help me succeed with losing weight and keeping it off.

I made a visit to Dr. Glasgow office and he looked at my records and saw that my BMI was 37 but I did have high blood pressure and that my primary care doctor recommends that I have this surgery. After meeting with him I met with the Nutritionist, physiologist and did the sleep lab.

Now I am just waiting for the results to be submitted to Blue Cross Blue Shields for approval.

    Waiting is sooooo hard…..

    Keep your finger crossed....
