  1. 9 months ago when I took the picture on the left I was miserable, depressed and down right disgusted with myself. Yesterday July 23rd, 9 weeks post op I decided to take some new pictures. The one on the right is one of those pictures. I am so thankful I had such an amazing surgeon and team members. They made sure my surgery was done properly in order to make sure my success is achievable. Dr Maytorena, Long Term WLS, and my coordinator gave me so much more than I could ever have imagined. In 9 short weeks, yes you read that right, I am down over 50 pounds almost 70 pounds counting my preop! I feel better than I have in years! I have more self esteem, better sleep, I'm more active and I now love my life again! I wanted this more than anything in the world and my team made sure it was done the right way, to begin with in order for me to be successful. For that I am forever grateful! If you want to be successful as well I highly recommend these guys. I am not affiliated with them at all other than I had my sleev there. I am sharing my story in hopes that it inspires someone else. Don't ever give up because YOU CAN SUCCEED!!!

My month will be officially Aug 3rd, I had my surgery on a July 3rd on a Monday. For me the sleeve was the best decision I made. I know a lot has changed for me in the last month. Before the surgery I was diabetic not now... and enlarged heart... my Dr. said it's back down to a normal size. Started having signs that the diabetes was messing with my kidneys but not now. Everyday I wake up feeling good but not like before I felt bad all the time and basically ignored or pushed through it cuz l wasn't going to let life rule me! So nice to hear!!! I'm getting sleeves on 8.8.17 and I love hearing the positive changes in only a month!!

  3. I'm 2 months out - down 30lbs since surgery - fantastic [emoji106]-- it's not overly hard, no pain, but it's just no fun - I hate cooking, I certainly know how to cook, I just don't find any enjoyment and avoid at all cost -- so having to be constantly trying to learn new recipes, then to find out, ptewwwy taste buds have changed and another gross meal --/ what a weird journey, but definitely no regrets - I'm so looking forward to seeing me thinner -- just not having much fun right now [emoji850]

I suggest an air fryer. They are all the rage lol. My dad had the sleeve a year ago and makes everything in the air fryer and quickly! I tried his scallops and they were amazing! I think it took 8 minutes! My parents just bought me one and I'm sure to use it when I'm on foods. (Sleeve 8.8.17). Good luck!

  4. I have such mood swings--from really excited to what-in-the-world-am-I-doing! This waiting is the hard part!

I agree! I'm feeling the same. My Dad & Brother did it 1 & 2 years ago and are doing great both down over 100lbs. So I keep holding onto that. I just want the surgery here & over! Good luck!

  5. WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My surgery just got changed to August 1st. Now I have to hurry and get my college work and exams done before then............this will allow me 2 1/2 weeks before I begin my last semester of college............I may even get more than a Popsicle for my birthday on the 29. [emoji4] Less time to research and cruise on this site but......so happy I will get a little re-coup time. I'll check in tonight for some more reading! Back to school work. I'm a almost 54 year old starting a new career. I worked in food all my life and owned my own place for over 23 years. My life revolved around food...............this is definately going to be a journey but, one I'm looking forward to.

Good luck!!! I'm a week after you on the 8th!

  6. I am getting sick of the super sweet shakes already (still pre-op). My nutritionist recommended a few brands. But Unjury was the one that offered a strawberry sorbet flavor (that reviews say isn't too sweet and it's not creamy) and chicken Soup. just ordered to try for myself. Some reviews mentioned mixing the strawberry sorbet with sugar free lemonade - sounds like that might be too sweet for me, but might try it. Great to have options!

I've been putting lots of ice in mine to Water it down a little ;)
