Ladies: have you noticed changes in your flow?

I have a pituitary adenoma, so without meds, that and the weight really hampered my period. I've been on meds and sure as heck after the surgery, my periods are spot on.

    Abbreviations

My apologies, I don't think people are ignorant. I know there are some words that are just dang confusing and for many. I still get confused w/ dessert and desert. I will admit, whenever I use the words, I check Google first. lol
  3. Happy Thursday, everyone I was just chatting w/ a coworker about cooking and you know what, I'm bored of it. Do some of you feel the same? The other night, I bought some chops and veggies, I ate half a chop w/ two spoonful of veggies and I was done. I planned to take the rest to work as several days worth of leftovers, but I'm just not interested. As usual, they will just sit there until it's time to be thrown away. I simply, have no interest in leftovers. The intent is there, but the want dies after the first serving for dinner.

    insurance denial

I'm with BCBS and you'll be amazed at how many things we approve and at the beginning of the new year, are denied per the new group policy. If you're approved for anything, get it done that same year. Even if your employer says "some" things will not change, get it done any way.

Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU! I bite my tongue when I see that mistake (or lack of intellect?), it makes me want to "loose" my mind.

    Stomach Stretching is a Myth

I'm almost two years out and can still only eat half a chicken breast, I can't imagine being able to get much more than that. I'd explode I'd like to believe the "Myth" is true, it's another reason to keep me focused and to not do things that could "stretch", my pouch.

    Leftovers, eh, not interested!

And I'm still eating brisket and we added ribs, I'm still eating those two days later. LOL! I'm not tired of it yet, thank goodness!
  8. I joined 23andMe and per my DNA setup, it said I had a pre-disposition to obesity. I was adopted and was curious to find some things out, the only thing I know is my grandmother had high blood pressure. Assuming she was an overweight woman, that may be why.

    Rate of weight loss?

I agree w/ most, you can't gauge your weight loss on the loss of others. I started at 393 and my surgery date 11/13/2015, at this point, I've lost over 200 pounds. I know someone who had the surgery around the same time and was a bit heavier than I, and they haven't come close to my weight loss. We all are different.

    Don't tempt me

Even juice, you want to stay away from. But I agree, that is dang weird of someone to do. I haven't been to McDonald's in almost two years and thank GOD, I'm not tempted by foods that aren't appealing to my health. My goodness, I'm thankful you fought the temptation, some people aren't as strong or disciplined as you.
  11. I never had a food addiction, so I can't blame that. To be honest, it was a lack of personal responsibility and care for who I was as person. I kept putting off my will to do better and days became months, months became years...and 400 pds later, I had that "Ah ha" moment.

    Body Dissociation

I agree, I didn't see myself that way. I think, if I did, I never would have woken up from the "dream" and worked to get myself healthy again.

Time off from work RNY vs Sleeve

I was sleeved and took a month off and am very happy I did. When I tried to get out and move around, I was so fatigued and lacked so much energy. My Dr. said I could take up to a month and I did. lol

Ladies: The Body differences when you are slimmer

What I enjoy the most, is having my curves back. My goodness, I missed them so much. lol Before, I never wanted to really wear shirts that contoured my body, but now, I can't stand to be in a shirt that's too big or pants that aren't skinnies. I'm getting my breast lift and reduction in three weeks, I'm sure that'll really make me smile!

Conquering goals is hard to do!

I'm so happy to read you're on the road to complete, recovery. You look great, let that be said! I wish I could lend more than just encouragement, but when it comes to what you've gone through, I wouldn't know what to suggest. Motivation, I simply never forget the journey traveled. When I'm tempted, I remember where I once was and where I refuse to be again. I didn't have a food addiction, actually, in my moments of stress, I don't eat at all. You're doing such a wonderful job, as your Dr. said, with everything you've gone through it will take time for the WL to catch up. Don't worry, things will be just fine.

    Leftovers, eh, not interested!

Actually, my boyfriend brought over some brisket and it was so dang good. I'm not used to beef anymore, but my pouch really enjoyed it. I'm having some for lunch and I'll have enough for meals during the weekend. Surprisingly, that thought doesn't turn me off.
  17. Alright, I had some Pho w/ the shrimp and veggies only, but can we eat the noodles? The noodles, didn't look like pasta noodles, so I was just curious.

    Children's Stares

Is that something a therapist would assist with, that sounds like medical issues.

To Pho or Not To Pho....

I love to make a spinach salad w/ loads of red onions and and a few jumbo shrimp. YUM!!!

    Children's Stares

At one point, I was looking for a therapist just to help me work through the transitions I was/am going through. When I looked for a Dr., I asked if they work with bariatric patients, if not, I wasn't interested. Sadly, some "therapists", judge more than they help and it sounds like you found one of those. I'm sorry you were exposed to such asshats!

    Children's Stares

You're so right, if the observation is made w/ those who are overweight, why not be that way with all types of people? I feel, living in, what used to be the body of a 400 pd woman, my bond would be closer to those I've shared the struggle with. We must do better and most of us here, found that will to be want to be better. With that, I understand there is a process to getting to theat point, for me, it took a series of events and I'm happy I was awakened after the fact.

    Back to Shakes?

If I stall, I'll go back to shakes and liquids.

    Children's Stares

I completely understand how you feel. At my highest, I was a bit shy of weighing 400 pounds. Thankfully, I was still proportioned well, but I would still get those "looks". My phobia came when I would eat in public, I felt like people were thinking to themselves "Why in the heck is she eating pizza, she's too fat for that", sadly, I find myself doing the same. Well, not the same, but when I see people eating that way when out in public, my heart breaks for them. I was once that girl and it hurts to see people not understand how they're doing such an injustice to themselves mentally and emotionally, and for what they're doing to their bodies.

    Leftovers, eh, not interested!

I'm still the same, this week I bought an eggplant dish and forgot about it. I remembered how delicious it was and packed it for lunch today. LOL, I guess certain foods will make me run back to them, most, I'll pass.
