I was scheduled two weeks after my final meeting with the dietician, I was able to choose the ballpark dates for my surgery. If you have a date range you'd like, mention it to the doctor, I can't see it being an issue.

I hit a full stall after about a year and a half, working out really helps. I'm very loyal to that, it'll work for you!!

I must agree w/ the above, it depends on your intake and how your body responds to it. Depending on what I ate, when I went wild and broke all rules, I would dump first thing in the morning Since losing my gallbladder, fat is what get's me.

Hello all,
I didn't know this post was here until a fantastic person told me about, I'll copy and paste what I said.
Hello ladies and gents,
Quick question, how do you manage to get in your carbs and most importantly, your calories?
Prior to starting the fast, I did the 5 day pouch reset and since then, I don't seem to be hungry. Thankfully, I've lost 12 pounds and am still losing. I drink Water through the day and I'm sure, that's a huge part of it. Yesterday for lunch, I had a bacon burger minus the bread, and a salad. I ate half of the patty and a mini salad and for dinner, I ate the other half of the patty and ate another salad. I literally wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. I am not fasting from 12pm - 8pm, and have been for the past week and a half.
This is tricky!
Any suggestions?

Those foods should never be touched again, and if so, it is WAY too soon for them. I don't really touch sushi due to the rice, pasta's are a huge bowl of carbs. I can mostly agree with the comment above, once in every blue moon will be okay, but not as often as you're craving.
I wish you the best Refocus and if you need to seek counseling to help keep you focused (I did), I'd really suggest that.

I changed EVERYTHING I ate and am using My Carbs app and am sticking to it, without faltering. I am down 7 pounds and I'm very happy I'm back on track, thank you for all of your feedback and advice. I'm still a bit confused when it comes to the fats, I seem to always go over. I spoke to one of my Dr's in the office (I work in a Dr's office) and they looked at my app and said, my fats are high but the fats are also good fats.
I guess that's a good thing?
I am now making sugar free pudding w/ a dollop of whip cream, I had no idea there was sugar and carbs in MILK! I'm going back to my almond milk, but for my pudding, I will use FairLife.

From my understanding, a lot of people get them out during the weight loss surgery. I read somewhere, generally at the 18th month, if it is going to go bad, it will happen within that window. For me, it took a bit longer. I had an attack last April 2018 and ended up in the ER. My HIDA scan showed there was nothing wrong with my gall bladder and that, was that. Come September 2018, another full out attack and this time, it was with inflammation AND stones. Two weeks later, it was out. Now, I will say, if you're having the surgery w/in the or next week, depending on the type of job you have, you should be just fine. I was off for two weeks, but possibly could have done light duty the second week. I'm in healthcare and am very busy and active so I chose to take a full two weeks off, w/ one follow up after returning to work.

YES, I forgot about that Salad Dressing, I think I have a bottle in my fridge. I'm going to make some chicken when I get home, I will cut them up and eat them as a snack. I feel like I'm starting all over again, and in some ways, I am. Is there a such thing as "good" fats vs. "bad" fats? Right now, my fat intake is sitting at 56g. My body doesn't have an issue with it, but I don't want to hinder my weight loss potential either. Well, I'll correct that...my gall bladder being out, does give me issues with fat. But I don't know how much fat has to be consumed to get to that point.
I feel like what I used to enjoy as a snack, I now have to kick most out. Dried banana chips w/ some Peanut Butter - Cherries - mixed nuts w/ chocolate and raisins- etc.
Working with a group of Dr's isn't easy, there is ALWAYS so many damn goodies. I kept saying "One piece will not hurt..." "Oh, just on the weekends, I'll have a burger ..ice cream..pizza..you know how the rest goes. Over several months, it sure does hurt...it's about 40 to 50 pound hurt.

2 hours ago, GreenTealael said:I never eat dressings anymore because one serving usually has more calories than the entire salad I'm eating 😒
The exception is Mayonnaise in egg, chicken, salmon salad
Instead I would add seasonings and a sprinkle of lemon or the Protein im eating with the salad would be enough to dress it
Congratulations on making it work! 💜
Thank you, I will start trying that. Also, I'm finding while staying within my carb intake, I'm going over my fats. Can I change it to higher fats, with the same amount of carbs.
Maybe:
Carbs 35g
Fat: 50 ?

Workout as you're losing and be very faithful to it, it will help tighten as you lose. I think too, it depends on how you're built. Some women didn't start out with a lot of weight in their arms and are spared of the "droopy arms". My tata's were in the 50's DDD, so you know those went to SAAAAG LAND However, once you hit your goal or are within 50 pounds of hitting it, the insurance will pay for your breast reduction and lift. YES, I came back to LIFE!

25 minutes ago, FluffyChix said:Awesome! So what are your total carbs? You got this girl!!! Yes it's the free version of MFP. But @GreenTealael may be using a different one? I'm on a desktop for mine.
13 grams, total carbs is what it says. When I get home, I will download the fitness app. I'm going to start eating Oikos again and I'll add some blueberries/blackberries I can still have my fruit and eat them too ❤️
@Frustr8 @GreenTealael @FluffyChix - I love love love bean patties, I just wish they had some without corn. I'll invest in more of those, fish, and chicken this shopping trip. Also, I like to make taco meat and put it on a bed of spinach. I usually don't put much on my salad due to being full after several bites, but those few are worth it. I do add a bit of Catalina to it. That too, I'll need to stop doing.
PS. I finished my Breakfast a little over an hour ago and I'm not hungry. Usually at this point, I would have already had my 10:00 snack. It will all of the oatmeal carbs, WOW!!!!!
-
Today, I'm hoping will be a better day. For breakfast I had a black bean burger patty (I really want to keep the Fiber going) w/ one hard boiled egg. Both, totaled 9.7 grams carbs. This is what I'm aiming for:
35g - Net Carbs
35g - Fat
80g - Protein
1100 - Cal
**
So, if I read what was said above correctly, should my fats be lower and my carbs higher? Also, the app you are showing in the screen shots, is that FitnessPal? I like that layout more than the My Carbs app.

4 hours ago, GreenTealael said:You estimated that you eat over 100g carbs daily... But this sounds like an oddly high amount of carbs for just yogurt/tuna/beans/citrus. What kind of yogurt, salad dressings and sauces are you eating in addition?
Ex. Chobani blueberry vs Chobani plain yogurt
You may need to incorporate less of the carb dense foods (beans are carb heavy, but fiber heavy too) with salads like with 1/4 cup of Beans instead of just1 cup of beans
Wow, now I see what you're speaking about. I was getting Walmart Greek vanilla Yogurt, what a huge mistake that was. I would have a half-cup every night and whenever I had a sweet tooth. This evening, I read the nutritional value and I was taking in 16g of sugar and 26 grams of carbs! WHAT!? Tomorrow, my meals and Snacks will be completely different. The fruit was 10g and my oatmeal was 26g, the rest of the day I was in the single digits for carbs. :( I'm going to make major changes.

No, I was completely off track. I started eating a lot sweets, breads, pastas....hence, the 40pd weight gain. I've been slapped back into reality and I'm ready to get my butt on track. I'm heading home, I will share more when I get home.

Girl, YES!! I was close to 400pds when I had the surgery, the weight was falling off. Every time I went to a follow up I got worried due to being less than 20+ pounds each time. LOL Good for you!!

23 minutes ago, mousecat88 said:You don't need to eat fat to go into ketosis, which is all the real goal is of the "keto diet". The fat globs people are eating now are just to help people feel fuller... but absolutely unnecessary. You can do low carb, low fat and enter ketosis all the same and not feel icky.
7 minutes ago, FluffyChix said:Absolutely agree. The prob that I can see is that she has a "set calorie threshold" that she wants to stay within and your cals are made up on only the 3 macros: Protein, fat, carbs. So if you keep carbs low enough to get into keto...for most of us that's around 30g total carb max, then you have to fill up her calorie threshold with either Protein or fat. OR drop the cals. Which is what I do. So she either has to eat a ton of protein (which can keep you out of ketosis) or she has to eat a wad of fat, which none of us need right now. Right? The solution is to really simply just hit your daily protein goal, stay at your carb # that you've set and let fat fall until you are comfortable and where those cals end up are where they end up. Mine usually is somewhere between 650-850 per day using that general rule.
I can tell my pouch is still working, I still can't eat a full chicken breast w/ veggies. I'm done after just the chicken. My issue is or at least, what has become an issue is.....I'm just damn hungry.
Today, I had Greek Yogurt w/ my lunch (Tuna) and a bit less than a half of cup of yogurt, that alone killed my carb intake for the day. I'm sure I'll hit almost a hundred after dinner (black Beans, less than a cup) and another yogurt cup 😕 Oh, and a small nectarine.

29 minutes ago, FluffyChix said:Yeah the Ruled Me calc is cool. So here's the thing. If you keep fat low, then your only other choice is to up the Protein and up the carbs. And both of those will keep you out of ketosis. But it could still be a low carb diet.
For instance, here is one at 1000cals:
I'd bet dollars for donuts you would never see ketosis. But would it be healthy? It could be. If you aren't super duper metabolically broken and make good carb choices (leafy greens, low glycemic veg, etc)...
I don't want to hit Ketosis, that's scary to me. BUT, I do want become a bit more strict with my carbs and fat's. I was VERY BAD these last several months. My carbs, I'm sure, we well over 100g Every other day..

O.o don't know if I'm using this app correctly, but it is reading 24.1% carbs - 35% protein- 41%fat. I can't read this thing for crap I still have to eat dinner and my afternoon snack.
When I get home I'll be able to really look through the forums, I'd love to join a group that centers around daily meals.

So I don't do "keto" by the modern definition with a wad of fat cuz it makes me want to hurl.
I do kind of Dukan style. Lower fat LCHF. And I use MFP. Here's my goal but you can easily adjust to have more Protein and less fat. I was doing 70 g Protein and even less fat. And it was easy if you applied yourself.
I missed you too, I need to bookmark this on my home laptop!!
Are my number a bit concerning? I wanted to keep the fats a minimum, but for you the 50g works? When I looked at this online, the numbers were different per site. lol

Hello, everyone!
It is great to be back, I haven't seen you all in almost two years. I had the sleeve in 11/2015 and to date, I've gained 40 pounds. I'm not happy with the weight gain, but I'm thankful it isn't a huge amount to lose. I had one bite of cake and you know the story, I was back in that crap routine of eating, crap.
I'm focused now!!
Alright, the point of this post. I'll get to it. ☺️
Keto or no Keto. Last October, I had to get my gall bladder out and since then, whenever I go overboard on fats, I know about it within hours. Therefore, 100% Keto isn't for me. HOWEVER, I read about Dirty Keto. Have any of you tried that and if so, what are your thought?
Also, I downloaded Carb Manager, but I can't seem to get the numbers where I want them.
This is what I'm aiming for:
New carbs: 35
Fat: 23
Protein: 80
Calories: 80
Because this is set for Keto, it isn't letting me hit the numbers exactly. Do you think MyFitnessPal, would be a better fit?
Thanks so much and again, it's great to be back! 🤗
