  1. I love pasta and I hope these taste somewhat like pasta. Does it taste or smell like fish. What type sauces do you use? Did you ever try the rice one?
  2. Has anyone tried shirataki noodles or miracle noodles. I also heard of miracle rice or Love my rice I was wondering if that was any good. Trying to find alternatives and recipes. People are raving about it but I used to love pasta and rice so would like to see if this really would be a great alternative.
  3. I know I can't have caffeine but can I get like a sugar free decaf skinny latte from Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks? I am really missing my coffee.
  4. Thank you!!! This whole process is a big adjustment.
  5. Thank you!!! This whole process is a big adjustment.
  6. I lost 32 pounds in three weeks but this week from week three going into week 4 I'm staying the same it's not dropping. Is it because I started eating pureed foods or what can it be. I'm so nervous that I am only going to loose a little bit. What is going on? I was so excited to loose weight and then it just stops. Please help me!!!
  7. I'm three weeks out and measure 2 ounces and I eat like not even half maybe a quarter. Have no problem getting liquids down. I feel like I'm not eating enough. Is this ok or normal for now.
  8. You can definitely drink again it may be a few months after surgery obviously not at the beginning. People can drink after just don't go overboard.
  9. My doctor saids lettuce should be one of the last things to try not until you start solids and then make that one of the last foods to try.
  10. From the week before Surgery and three weeks post op I lost 31 pounds so far.
  11. Congee is a broth made from rice. I think it will subside just don't eat or drink anything. Make sure you take your temperature and make sure you don't have a fever.
  12. You can have broth but not made from rice. You should not have pasta or rice for a while. It's to heavy from your stomach.
  13. You have to see what your doctors plan is. I was three weeks post op and eating pureed foods in a week and a half I start soft foods for another two weeks. Then I start regular food. Every doctor is different.
  14. I am on my third week and I am on puréed foods. Everyone has been telling me to try the ricotta bake. I made it tonight it tasted like heaven but after 3 bites I was sick. It was sitting in my chest and I felt like throwing up but didn't. Why would I feel like that if I was allowed this and I don't know what could have hurt me. I'm disappointed the one thing that actually taste good and I get sick. I feel like I will never eat my favorite foods ever again. I am so upset!!!
  15. I have been feeling the same way I am into my third week and just started feeling better. It could be I started puréed foods. It's a long journey but it's not something we can undo so let's do the best to work through it. I also constantly feel like I will never eat my favorite foods. That is not true it will take time but we will get there and then this will just be a memory the hardest part of this journey. Like someone told me food will always be there it's not going anywhere just take your time and do the right thing and we will get there. Hang in there!!!
  16. I notice when I drink or eat I have like gurgling in my stomach or from throat down to stomach. I can't explain it really but I don't know if it's normal. It almost feels like I have to burp and it's stuck. I have no pain or anything. Someone please let me know what you think[emoji31]
  17. Thank you I know it's only two weeks so I will follow his orders. I want to eat retried beans and guacamole because it is puréed and he said yes to hummus
  18. I went to the doctor today and I can start puréed foods on Thursday because that will be exactly 2 weeks. He said I can not have chicken, tuna, or egg salad or even scrambled until two weeks after puréed. I want some other ideas of what to eat. I was looking forward to those things but I guess he knows best and another two weeks won't kill me. Anyone have other ideas?
  19. I am starting the puréed foods this Thursday and I am confused what are some things you guys eat. If you guys eat three times a day if so how much at each meal. Is puréed chicken salad and tuna salad ok during this stage if it's puréed. Does anyone have any recipes for anything good? I want to be creative and try new things. Especially when I start real foods I want to be creative and how much are you able to eat then?
  20. I still get crampy I am 10 days post op. Especially when I eat cold things. I was wondering the same thing when does it stop. It makes me not want to drink always or sometimes I feel like if I may drink it gets stuck like I have a gas bubble stuck.
  21. I have been having a really rough time on the liquid diet part hopefully next Thursday I can go on puréed foods. I am also getting down because people make me feel like I will never eat again. I have been craving sushi like crazy and a few people said well keep craving it cause you will never eat that again. I mean why be so cruel. I hope I can def eat sushi after surgery. Some people say oh well you have to wait at least 2 years to eat sushi. It's making me feel like I have to defend myself all the time. My family is super supportive and always tell me I will eat my favorite foods again it's just a matter of time. Other people make it seem like I have committed myself to a death sentence. Are these people right? Will I be able to eat sushi in a few month or years or never. I'm just getting so fed up. I also love pasta and rice and they make it seem like well that's off the menu forever. I don't want to eat it always but knowing every once in a while I can have it makes me feel better.
  22. I am feeling the same way. I like ok at everyone eating and I miss just eating. I know I can eventually eat again I just can't wait for the puréed phase which is next week. I have been feeling kind of down lately crying and regretting this surgery some days. I know it's worth it an look toward to the future a lot. I know how you feel just hang in there and know it will all be worth it in the end.
  23. I just had surgery a week ago today. Don't be nervous I was and now I think why did I drive myself crazy. Just be prepared for gas pain everything else was a breeze.
  24. When I go into puréed foods am I allowed to have egg salad and puréed tuna salad. I can have scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes just wondering. I needed different options so I don't get bored.
  25. I had surgery on Thursday and I have not gone to the bathroom since last Wednesday. It will be a week tomorrow. Is this normal or should I be concerned. I don't feel bloated or even have the feeling that I have to go. I'm getting concerned should I take a stool softener. Is this normal? Should I take something or just let it happen when it happens. Sorry to much info[emoji45]
