Hi there I was in a similar situation 2 rounds of bilateral pneumonia. this lead up to a CT Scan which detected a Fluid filled esophagus which was leaking over and keeping my lungs wet. I had to have my bad removed asap as it was making me very sick. I had it removed last Friday 7-7-17. Its was a in/out patient surgery and I was able to go home that afternoon. Recovery has been much better than I expected. I was able to have Soup and crackers Friday night. I had scrambled eggs on Saturday. I was able to move around my home and inter act with my 3 & 5 yr olds. I'm happy to say that I have not needed to fill the prescription for pain meds. I've not been in pain, I've just been sore. I went back to work to day and so far so good. Since having it removed I've had minimal coughing and no acid reflux!!! Good Luck to you!

Hi there think positive. The band was a tool in loosing weight I'm sure you had to do your part in changing your eating habits etc. I've had my band for 10 yrs and over the last year I've developed bad reflux and now have a Fluid build up in my esophagus which has increased its size times 3. In order to feel better and avoid more medical problems I'm having mine removed on Friday 07-07. Personally I feel my band served its purpose and I to am nervous about gaining weight but I keep telling myself the band was a "TOOL" and that I played a strong part in my weight loss. Not to mention that I'm older and hopefully wiser now. I wish you the best of luck and Thank you for sharing, its nice to know that I'm not alone.

I had my gallbladder removed last yr. No gain or loss. But much relief. The reflux stopped for a short time but started back a month later. Keep in mind gallbladder issues is a side effect of the band. If issues persist see for Dr asap, don't wait. Dave your self the trouble.
