  1. I'm reading a book called The MagicalArt of Tidying or something similar to that and have started implementing it. Started with my clothing. As I was going through my clothes I realized that most of the clothes I had were purchased simply because they fit. One of the premises of the book is that we should only own things that "spark joy." I ended up getting rid of 2/3 of my clothes. It was so freeing. Now when I'm shopping I'm only buying things I just love. Also I felt so old in my old clothes. Now I'm feeling so much younger. No more old lady clothes for me! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  2. I actually wore leggings last week and didn't feel fat! Wouldn't wear them before the weight loss because I was too lumpy! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  3. You are looking great!!!!! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  4. No change again. Stall is completely my fault. Need to regroup! Again! 179.8 Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  5. Shake it up a bit. Eat 100 cal more and maybe walk more or less for a few days. I've hear shaking it up helps with a stall. I had one stall of 3 weeks and it was so frustrating. Don't worry- you'll start losing again! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  6. I only threw up in the hospital when they gave me my meds as the first thing to swallow! Nothing really makes me sick except sugar alcohol (something that comes from artificial sweeteners) I wish sugar made me sick but sadly it does not and I must maintain self discipline. I'm 14 weeks out and have lost 44 lbs. 14 pound in the first week is awesome! Don't be surprised when it slows down and try to think of it as an average weight loss per week. That helps me. I'm averaging 2 lbs per week from my pre surgery weight which I feel great about. This way I don't have to explain how I did it because I've only told a handful of people. 2 lbs per week is what the diets out there say is a great and healthy weight loss so it doesn't seem abnormal. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  7. 179.8 no change this week. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  8. That's what I do and my nutritionist said that is perfect. Rarely do I go over that. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  9. New pic- half way to goal. I keep taking pics in the same shirt- I posted before and an earlier pic in this thread. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  10. You and I are twinning. Same surgery date and close weight loss. 44lbs. How many calories are you getting per day? I'm between 600-800. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  11. I have no idea. I haven't had much hair loss yet I'm 13 weeks. My nut even noticed it and I haven't always gotten my protein in. I'm doing better with it lately though. I hope for your sake it stops soon ! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  12. Surgery is definitely a tool not the end all. I could not have lost weight without it. It is not the easy way out- it was the only way out for me. Feeling so much healthier and better and I'm only half way to goal. Definitely have to watch myself slipping into using food for stress relief or comfort. Vsg doesn't fix those old habits but it does make it possible to work through them a bit. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  13. I just took a huge box of clothes to a friend at work. I'm going to have to buy some work shirts soon because everything I have left is sleeveless- or at least a couple of cardigans to wear over them! Hubby came home and likes my new look and the couple of new outfits I've gotten- wants me to shop more- I'm holding out for as long as I can though so I can wear them longer! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  14. Coffee with half and half and real sugar in the morning (my splurge ) Protein shake around 9am Small lunch like a couple of cheese sticks or a laughing cow wedge a little fruit at lunch- I also like chicken salad with a couple of crackers ( rice or pita crackers) Maybe a protein bar late afternoon. Dinner I might have some grilled chicken, zucchinni noodles, cheese or tuna. I don't plan well enough so sometimes I'll just grab another laughing cow wedge and roll it up in turkey. Yesterday I wanted another cup of coffee so I added genepro to it- 30 grams of protein in my coffee. I also had a Powerade zero. I do r hold a great routine so I at least try to keep cheese sticks, protein shakes and cottage cheese around for a quick meal. I'm not a great example of how to do it, but it's working for me. Eggface on Pinterest is an awesome vsg diet resource! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  15. I am 3 months out. If you stick to the protein first rule and only focus on getting your protein in you won't be eating many calories. Right now you need to make sure you are getting enough protein- if you don't you won't be able to heal properly and I. A couple of months your hair will start falling out. I still don't count anything but sugar and protein really. I track everything but don't really pay attention to anything but that- very rarely do I go over 800 calories even now. My nutritionist says that my numbers are in the perfect range. Try not to stress. Just try to stay healthy. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  16. Doing so much better! Daughter that was in the hospital is home and doing so much better. Other kids have settled down. Hubby is back from Japan. I didn't get the new job I wanted but my job is fine. I've dropped another 5 lbs and have gotten back in track eating. I am fighting with dehydration- trying to get back in top of it but once it gets to this point it's really hard to undo. I'm having leg cramps, headaches dry skin. The on call dr I spoke to said to try to hydrate for a couple of days and go in if it doesn't get better. I have a pcp appt on Wednesday so I'm working on it until then. I finally hit the 170's - haven't been there in forever! Thanks for being there for my whining- couldn't do it without you all! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  17. You look great!!! Congrats! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 179.8 GW 135
  18. I started at 223- I'm at 180 13 weeks post op and my goal is also 135. I've had to retire all of my pre surgery pants and a lot of my tops- they just looked too baggy. I've relied on the kindness of friends who passed down clothes, shopping in my own closet and buying just a few things. You won't drop so quickly that you can't enjoy the new clothes. I went from a 16-18 to a 10 now already. It's also a fun treat to get a couple of new things. I'm passing off my larger clothes to a friend at work - it's such a blessing to get new clothes this way I want to bless someone else too. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  19. You can try gas x strips but walking is the best thing for that trapped air and gas. I hope it passes soon! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  20. I got dehydrated this week and have been trying to rehydrate- awful experience. Today is the first day I have hit 64 ounces in all 13 weeks of this process. I won't let that happen again- headaches, leg cramps, dry skin- so not fun! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  21. Just got a great pair of black pants at dress barn last week too -$34 but well made Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  22. I like dress barn- they have plus and regular. I also found some great pants at Marshalls which I always hated shopping in, but for the price it was nice to get a couple of pair of transition pants. I walked away with 2 pair of pants for $33! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  23. I have started eating small quantities of sweets- like a scoop of sherbet or 2 chip ahoy cookies. I track everything I put in my mouth and my dr actually said it's ok as long as I follow protein first and really limit carbs to 25% or less of my caloric intake. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  24. 11 pounds from surgery date to 7 days later. Actually gained weight right after surgery because of the iv's! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
  25. Thanks for reaching out- that's the first step. We're all in the same boat. It's a great site for support and to be able to talk to people who have been right where you are. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 181 GW 135
